2 videos in one weeek! YAY! You know what I think would be super fun? If you compared NYC to a Canadian city like Toronto or Vancouver (both of them are almost just as expensive as NYC, at least according to the Canadian standards haha)
Born and raised Floridan here! Loved watching this video! Honestly, winter in Florida is amazing. I love being able to go to the beach and sit outside and feel a cool breeze while still not freezing to death. But, with a lot of people do not realize is that summer here is a completely different story. We also get hit with incredible heat where you can literally take a shower and step outside and feel like you need to take instantly take another shower. We do get hit with hurricanes and bad weather about four months out of the year and honestly, you never know what you’re going to get from may - october and that alone is something I have personally taken into account. Also, try not to burn yourself with your seat belt while your car takes 20 minutes to cool down (which is basically half your trip.) The cost of living has completely shot up considering everyone moving down and the market is TOUGH for those who actually live here and get paid Floridan wages at the moment. Also, gas is high so considering living close to where you may go out and live. Love Florida and this will always be home but weather, and car use is definitely something to account for if you move down! 😅
I moved here from California and love is so far but the summer almost killed me haha. The weather was crazy even after Los Angeles! I love the tropical weather espessially when it's raining here but still want to go back to LA because of my friends, mountains and the film industry. Do you think it's possible to live a half of the year in Miami November to May and other month in Califronia while it's huricane season in FL?
@@arikristenko Hey there! For sure! A lot of snowbirds actually do that! They’ll come down from October - March or April and then head up north again. I think it really depends on you and if you don’t mind the going back and forth! I would definitely say go for it ! I would love to visit LA though! (PS: I wish we had mountains ) 😂
Come to Australia in Summer. I feel like Miami and Aus are somewhat comparable in temperature during summers. Is it a high UV there though? Brutal here.
Without a doubt your friend got a great deal for his rent but as a born and raised Floridian i one of those strongly affected by the inflation and will be moving out myself so a better quality of life, pay, and career. I hope to come back and visit but for now that realistically might be hard for others here as well great video too loved you showing our Latin based community
Which city did you chose? Florida is so expensive and salaries are low. Miami is for rich. Most rich flex how they don't need to pay state income tax and that's it while others can't afford renting a room in Miami
I feel like in NYC it's worth it. NYC has so so so much opportunities, activities, history, and it actually has all seasons. Yes, it's cool to get away from the winter sometimes but, you get tired of it. Demand is high right now in Florida. People are buying houses and renting apartments so prices are going up cause of people moving here and it's really annoying. People here trying to get houses and apartments but, demand is so high right now, that it's not a good time to. It's ridiculous!!! Pluse with gas prices going up, in Miami, you have to drive everywhere where in NYC, soooo many ways to get around. I don't care, NYC worth it. I been here for 9 years this August will be 10 and the only thing I love about Florida is the beautiful beaches, the houses depending on the area cause some parts for example Fort Lauderdale houses are outdated. I also love the quiet area's, and the nice people.
Totally agree. Born and raised in miami and I’m moving to New York in June and I can’t wait to get rid of my car. Between car payments, maintenance, insurance and gas, owning a car in miami can easily be 600-700 a month. And it just goes up from there. Take into consideration that I’m moving with someone else and that’s two cars we don’t have to worry about. That alone can get you to a miami equivalent apartment so prices may balance out. But miami has had the highest ratio increase of living costs to wages since the pandemic meaning everything is going up except wages. Can’t wait to move to New York myself. Not looking forward to the taxes though
NYC is NOT worth the PRESENT cost OF rent. The CRIME is way UP. The COST of GOODS and SERVICES is are HIGHER. Not to MENTION the TYRANICAL COVID-19 unconstitutional RULES...Also, even THOUGH the JOB opportunities are BETTER in NYC, it's NOT to the DEGREE that PEOPLE believe...#GiveMeJESUS
I feel like NYC has so much more job opportunities and high salary’s but you don’t need as much money to live in Miami and there is so many activities you can do in Miami that you can’t in NY, and you can do them all year round unlike NYC because of the weather, also the Taxes are much lower
Loved the comparison. From what I heard about Miami, people who's balling over there with their Lambo's and big houses work for a northerner company making northerner salary/investments and just live in Florida. Jobs that pay a lot is hard to come by there. Personally I know a lot of folks that move to Miami, are intrigue about the cost of living but end up moving back north. Miami I do love, but I just hate the 10 minute downpours they have there lol. I like to see you do a video comparing NYC to San Diego
Fellow New Yorker here ,I just moved to MIAMI about 6 months ago , I pay now 2,300 a month for a 3 bedroom two bath house with a pool and backyard , when in New York I was living in a shoe box , plus roaches and mice, MIAMI is alot cleaner ! I have to say though salary is less but there are job opportunities here. I use to work in Financial district in NYC and the salary isn’t that much off . Having work experience in New York definitely gave me an edge , I applied for three jobs and I got offers from all three in MIAMI , while in New York you need to be apply for 25 to get three job offers . You need a car in Miami , Thankfully I had a car in NY so i was able to bring it down to MIA. Honestly I have to say though that there’s is alot more talented , hard working , and just overall intelligent people in New York . I mean the most talented and smartest people from around the world go to NYC for education and work . I think if your looking for a less busier life than the city , more laid back , tired of the snow and cold , plus beautiful weather beaches , and have a car then make the move to MIAMI ! Also there are hurricanes so that’s another thing you have to think about .
While you New Yorkers and other people keep moving here you people are going to drive up the price. Which is happening now. Renting a 1 bedroom apartment is 2000 dollars or more now in many places here in Miami. It is so much harder to find housing around here. That is what happens when everyone starts coming over. There are even lesser jobs too. Stay over there. And stop making it any harder for you or other people here.
Rent went up 35%-60% increase in 2021 and another doble digit increase is expected in 2022. 2/2 apt that were $2800 are now $4000, and still going up. So we are becoming the next NY but without the jobs.
Miami is magical but becoming expensive as the New Yorkers found this paradise . With regards to where the Money comes from, there is a lot of US wealth as well as the South American Money (legal or illegal). At one point in Miami, for every Dollar went of the Banks two Dollars were going in. You know the answer.
I think Miami people or Florida people in general talk once a day about how we're tired of New Yorkers moving and causing an increase in prices. Also, I feel Miami Beach and Manhattan always are used when describing Miami or New York. It's obvious, but life isn't always as pretty in both places.
Brett! Thanks for showcasing my beautiful city. As a life long miamian, I can tell you a couple of things: cuban breakfasts at that price are the best, the scenic places you showed are great to visit all year round, and sir pizza IS NOT the best pizza in Miami 🤣

I own a 3/2 in Palm Beach County 5 minutes from the beach. My mortgage is $1400. It's a 12k square foot property with no restrictions. I could not imagine being in that small place for $2500 that will not make you any money. My home has doubled in price in 5 years.
That Miami apart was just one room ,no separated Bedroom.$2,400 a month seems high! I think your Manhatten apartment is a better deal, as it has 2 bedrooms .I think NYC has more diverse entertainment ,food, and culture ,plus public transportation.
Yes but you have to remember this was Covid pricing when everyone was moving out and it was a renters market and also it was sold as a one bedroom and Brett added the wall to make it two bedrooms. Also he said it’s a very good deal and Rare deal for Manhattan. So it’s not exactly apple to apples

Parking is terrible in New York too so I’m not sure why he’s saying this would not happen in New York. Not everyone wants to ride a bike when it’s 30 degrees 😭😫😩
Been to Miami before and most of those luxury sports are like second homes to people up north. Barely any Miami natives living in them. Then low wages keep the real Miami natives across that bridge
God my dream is to move to Miami i from a very small town in Texas I’m 18 currently have 16,000 grand save up rn I hoping to move to Miami next year looks amazing great video bro u have a new sub : )
Don't go to Miami, it's hot, salaries are lower, if your not used to Latin/Caribbean culture you'll feel out of place and forget about Hurricane season, as soon as it hits, New Yorkers will run away immediately
I know it’s not as sexy, but you should compare Oklahoma City. For what you pay you could get a really nice house and a couple acres of land. Imagine not having any neighbors and being able to do anything you want on your own land.
I'm in Tennessee you can find expensive places or cheap places. They are places around $500 to bedrooms water and trash included. I will say one thing look at what you can get in Thailand Philippines or Vietnam for that 1,000 a month you will be shocked
Each city has its charm and downsides. I am more inclined to believe that I haven't realized the charm of NYC yet. Rude people, aggressive drivers, overpriced in apparently everything, unsanitary subway trains, and as you mention, heavy tax... I am not tempted to visit NYC again as a tourist.
Getting a NY salary and then move to Florida (not necessary Miami but South Florida in General) would be awesome. Born and raised in NY but sick of the cold weather and the summer isn’t really summer in NY anymore. BE lucky if you get a few days in the 90’s in a row in the summer and then for what? To go to dirty beaches? How bout Palm trees all year round, good weather and NO, its not 80 or 90 degrees all year round in Miami. In January is 60 and 70’s in Miami.
I dont believe that you found that apartment for $2500. I have been living in NYC for years and with $2500 all you can get is an studio or a tiny, ugly one bed.

I actually have left florida to take a job in NYC. Cost of living is basically the same now since I'll be ditching my car and my rent went up 1800 in miami and I'm making 40% more in NY. Bye Miami. G
Whaaaat !!! 2,500 a month !! With that view ! Like how :o … we used to pay 2,300 for one bedroom in harlem but had to move because it was getting so unsafe and we are now in NJ paying the same :/ but new building .. thats so crazy !!! Definitely lucky find !!
