Tame him so he stops biting. Go in the bathtub and take him with you and let him roam in the tub with you just sitting there, do that everyday for two weeks, then start handelling him.
In a more recent video- shes been showing her knuckles while holding treats to him instead of fingers so he can gain her scent. He did bite them still- but is that also a good method if done routinely vs the bathtub play pen? My cousin (whom's hamsters I'm referring to here on-) lives in a 1 bath apt with her mom- 2 kids and husband so the tub is definitely not a routine option. (And no- her little girls and/or husband do not handle then at all, their very much so her own and stay in her room and only she handles/feeds/clean them) My cousin has 2 female hamsters but we've never been able to handle them without getting bit or stressing them out. We just want them to know we mean no harm. Or is it best to just not handle them at all? Or does not trying make it even worse? They're very happy hamsters with a very large containment similar to this one's channel, no fighting or anything- often sleep and eat togrther, but when it comes to handling them they become visibly stressed and we feel terrible but would love to form a positive bond with them.
Zo Ri if you wish to handle them more you do need to let them recognise your scent and as they get used to that scent they will become more calm and let you handle them. Blow gently if you want to wake them up, and give treats from your hands so they're not scared of your hands. Bathtub playtime is great to give them different enrichment to keep them entertained. If wanted to transport to bathtub, wake them up by gently blowing on them and then let them go into a toilet paper roll/ box and take them to the bath tub if you're not ready to handle them. if you just set the cup on the scale and press that button that says zero it'll weigh him without having to subtract the weight of the cup..love your obstacle course! I wonder if my guinea pigs would like that lol!
