Both great options! I car camp in my 2004 Toyota Matrix and find it very comfortable.I don't have a platform for the bed, but I have been throwing the idea of making one around. I'd just be worried about losing what head space I have above the bed.
I have an Outback 2016. I don’t think I have this much head room even without a platform. I just put several layers of rugs to insulate underside. I sleep on one side and put gear boxes on the other side.
Love this idea... I have a Honda crv 2016...the back seats fold down in a weird way, where a big incline is created...Ive tried many configurations, but just can't get over the incline and hump in the middle. I was wondering how those legs will sit on the back seat?🤔
Yeah! I used to drive a 2 door Wrangler and loved it, but ever since I got into car camping the Unlimited was the only choice. It's so roomy back there, a great vehicle for car camping!
I missed it. Did the presenter state how tall he is? ...or what is the maximum height a person may sleep in each of these configurations? Or, did he mention that a person 6'2" tall would have to sleep diagonally in each of these vehicles to even fit?

Maybe I should have gotten the unlimited back in the day. I am so mad I can’t sleep in it! Car camping like this never occurred to me.

Any plans to make a solo for a 2022 Toyota Highlander with captain seats 2nd row and 3rd row seat?
What mattress do you have in the outback?

Hi! I'm 5'10" and the platform can extend up to 6'2" if your vehicle can fit the length! Basically think Subaru Outbacks and larger vehicles
My 2014 Subaru Outback seats do not lay flat. Will that be a problem?
That's not a problem at all! Both of these platforms are designed to accommodate the slope in the Subaru Outback.
That looks miserable, being unable to sit up
