Amazingly explained. I love it that the author chose for a "fundamental" appraoch, i.e. first laying out the problem-domain and then gradually solving it.
Very well explained! I play the classical Slav and been meaning to learn this opening. Was massively inspired by Aronian vs Anand Wijk aan zee 2013 game.
I've played both myself. Our Dynamic Slav Course actually goes for a Semi-Slav formation (e6, d5, c6) and then we play f5 in some lines to reach a Stonewall Dutch.

Pretty sure that was a semi Slav, anand made a novelty and kinda crushed aronian because of the sharp position :) (I think)
Very simple and brilliand explanation of the semislav. Now i am starting to understand better. Thanks!
Awesome video. I've been wanting to properly learn the Semi-Slav but I'm intimidated by the sheer amount of lines and theory that needs to be studied.

What do you think to sam shanklands semi slav on chessable? better than the slav or a kings indian?
They are all good options. We have a free Dynamic Slav course on the ChessGoals website.
@@ChessGoals Thank you very much for the reply
What is the diff between semi slav and slav opening
In the Slav Black puts the bishop out on f5 prior to playing e6. In the Semi-Slav, Black temporarily traps in the bishop.
@@ChessGoals Thanks
In other words why one above the other. I know CG promotes the Slav but here we deep dive the Semi
