Thanks so much. I love your website and have learned so much from it. I used your link to purchase the two seat rotators from the Sprinterstore. You were right, the packing was atrocious 0 shipping information. When I did manage to get thru to them they were rude and disrespectful. I will not be doing any further business with them!
Great job
So glad you added maxxair wiring info
Trying to connect it to my jackery
Speaking of fans, I'm a big fan.
YES! That’s what I like to hear ✌🏻
"Some lucky person will buy it!!!" I so appreciate your attention to detail making sure things are done right. Love that you included the booboo of the squeaking swivel seat:)
I always try to include my "booboos" I think people learn from others failures much more than their success!
@@AnkeneyVanBuilds your detail in videos is GREAT! If you ever make it to LA, let me buy you a beer!
@@vandweleer8004 sounds good :)
You are the MAN!!! I managed to install my MAXXAIR fan today, and used my Kreig jig for the first time. My 95 year old Dad is a master carpenter (WWII Navy Aviation vet). He taught me a lot, but I had never use one before. You made it look so easy, that I bought one and really like it. My swivel base came in today, so I know what I'm doing tomorrow. Thanks for all the help!
Kreg jigs are so useful! I use mine allll the time
The boys next door loved the video! Keep em coming!!
Hahaha YES dude! Plenty more to come! Hope you don’t mind all the power tools 😂
wow! very nice video, best I've seen on here about installing max fan. thank you!
You’re welcome:)
Maxx air fan is a must!!
I couldn’t agree with you more!!! Same with the swivel seats
I am absolutely soaking up your install information. THANK YOU! One thing, though: At minute 12:27 I saw a gap between the roof and the Maxxair fan as if you need more butyl tape or more lap sealant. Take a look. Wouldn't want that gorgeous van conversion to be ruined by a leak in the ceiling. Just FYI because I so appreciate your help.
I noticed that the next day and fixed that. Good eye ;)
Thanks for the detailed video. Putting in the fans Friday. I did mine slightly out of order and did my ceiling first, but put the 14x14 wood frame in where the fans are going.
Nice work!
This is a tremendous help. Looks like a swivel seat in my future
Good luck :)
I am six feet tall and don't think a driver swivel seat will work for me because of a lack of visibility through the windshield.
Big fan!
Thanks for the video the complete swivel seat video
You’re welcome!!!!
Fan is going in tomorrow! Thanks for the vid!
EPIC! Good luck!
Love these videos! I’m taking notes!
Perfect!!!!
Thank you so much for sharing the details!
You’re welcome M!
You explain everything so simply, I am not as scared to take the next step.
Great job.
Where are you doing your creations out of?
Im glad I could help! if you have questions during the build let me know!
Swivel seats create so much more living space in the van!
I couldn’t agree more!
This is so helpful, thank you!
So glad it helped you out Michelle!
Major cool video!
🙌🏻🙌🏻
Love the video Thank you
🙌🏻🙌🏻
thanks for the video!
You’re welcome!
@@AnkeneyVanBuilds What is the need for the Butyl tape if you have the sealant? We're building out a 2018 Promaster and my dad and I are in a debate lol. He thinks it's unnecessary. Thanks
@@hollicollins22 it’s just another layer of protection and helps it adhere to the roof. Your dad isn’t wrong though. I’m sure if you used enough lap sealant you might be okay lol
Sweet!!!
Thanks 😎🤘🏻
That is one good boi!
Thanks boi!
Thank you!
🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
Big help
Ty
Anytime!
you are the best!!
Haha thank you!
I would use that swivel seat to turn around like a villain in a movie
I think that’s what they were originally designed for.... 🤔
What is the best place to set you fan? Above the bed or in the middle of the van?
I’m a 23 year old that wants to travel before I go back into school. I just bought a 35k promaster van with hopes to build but I’m starting to doubt if this was a good idea or even worth it now. While I have no other idea what to do I still don’t know if it was a good idea or worth it, am I crazy for it? Was 35k an outrageous buy?
Doing what makes you happy isn’t crazy!!!
Thanks for sharing your know-how! I wonder though, why not silicone instead of butyl tape?
Buytle tape is specifically designed for these. Silicone works too!
@@AnkeneyVanBuilds Thank you. Where are you located?
@@laramie_1944 Boise, Idaho!
That helped!
Good!!! Glad to hear it
How long did Max Fan take? 2-3 hours?
how did you connect the wooden frame to the ceiling in the van? just construction glue? thank you for helping with my fan install!
The screws from the Max fan hold it in place! I used a clamp to hold the piece until the screws were in place! And you’re welcome :)
when you put the air bag wires through the swivel seat hole do they fit with the connectors or do you have to cut them off then rejoin once through the hole?
Thanks,
They fit!
Wire guage question: The fan comes with 16 awg, can 14 awg or does it have to be the same guage?
14 will work. It’s just thicker gauge.
Hi Colton. Hey were you totally happy with the Sprinterstore swivels? Thanks, Dan
I was!
@@AnkeneyVanBuilds Cool. A lot of people seem to go with that "Skopema" (sp?) even though they cost more and I was wondering if there was a reason. I would rather trust your take on it. Thanks for the reply!
@@TeutonicNordwind unfortunately I’m unaware of that brand. So I can’t give an honest feedback on it
@@AnkeneyVanBuilds The fact that you were happy with the ones in your vid is good enough! (especially since they have better price point!) Thanks again
On the fan wiring, did you wire straight to the van’s battery or tap into a factory wire ?
Thanks
I wired it into a fuse block that is powered by a goal zero
I love swifle seats by I don't know if my03 dodgeram b2500 has that option.
Why did you drill pilot holes when the screws that came with the fan are self tapping? Just curious if you had a reason.
I drill it with a smaller bit than is needed. The screw just bites into to metal a lot easier!
Have you found the height of the seats to be too high with the swivels installed? Thanks!
They're definitely higher, but not too bad
I installed that model swivel on the driver's side, but can only turn it to face the isle before it binds on the steering wheel. Were you able to get your driver's seat to turn completely around?
Yes. It takes a little finessing. You have to push the stearing wheel in (there’s a lever underneath) and I rotate my seat counter clockwise, and then sliding the seat forward and backwards as appropriate
@@AnkeneyVanBuilds Thanks for the advice! I'll try that next. :)
I noticed the wires of the MaxxAir Fan are 16 gauge. Do you recommend connecting them to another 16 gauge to your power system or is it okay to bump up to 12 gauge?
I used 14g I believe. As long as you don’t do anything higher than 16 I think you’ll be okay!
Do you have links for Maxxair and the swivel seats? Thanks!

@@AnkeneyVanBuilds, Thanks!
Did you have any problems removing the t40 screws? I’ve heard they can be tough
No issues at all!!!
Can you please post a link to the swivel seat base you used?
I got them off sprinterstore.com !
Where did you purchase the swivel base from?
I got mine from sprinterstore.com !
What is the wood size you used for the frame underneath?
3/4”
How did you attach the frame?
I clamped it down until I screwed in the frame. The screws hold it in place
OMG you're act going to explain how to wire it?!?!? ☺️
OMG you DIDN'T. 😳
can you install your fan without removing the headliner?
There’s four screws that hold the fan in place on the plate. So you can remove the fan and that white plate will still be in!
How did you decide on that particular Maxxair fan? I see they have 6+ different models to choose from on their website.
This one has the remote option, and I liked the smoke gray color
Thanks for showing the swivel seat install. Super helpful! Question: do you know if the 6 way adjustable seat uses the same swivel and if so is the install the same? TIA!
Hi Bret! Glad I was able to help! I do not know much about the 6 way adjustable seat but if they are manufactured by dodge then I don’t see why It would be any different!! And if that’s the case the install should be the same.
Hope this helps and good luck!!
Nice job with video, but evidently they labeled the wires wrong. The (black wire) should always be “negative,” and the white wire will, or should, always be neutral, or positive.
I believe Chinese product use black as their positive wires
there's gotta be a better way to fill in the ridges in the roof than to keep gooping on butyl tape!
Hi again! What width plywood did you use for the frame? 1/2 inch or 3/4 inch? Also did you have to cut down the white plastic maxxair fan base to fit the ceiling?
3/4”! And yes I did!
I don't care how many vans you have in your driveway, and no no one is confused about that. What I'm confused about is why do you have a miter saw to installed a fan!
I mean you don’t HAVE to use a mitre
Gap between the frame and top of the van that wasn’t sealed….
You sure about that?
Better not to put male connectors on a live wire - use female with the male on the fan wires. Otherwise you have an uninsulated live wire if the male and female become unplugged.
Extra screws? Never good! Lol
😂
De frrrrrrrrrrr til
how far will the remote work away from the fan thanks
