Actually Phil Mickelson uses the Oddesey #9 putter which is the same as the Scotty Cameron DelMar putter. Also Sergio Garcia is using the Taylormade Spider putter.
Nice vid, I wish I had that set up. For myself I’ve found that my natural grip leaves the face a tad bit open when the grip is installed square with the face, so I’ve had to install the grip slightly closed.
I have a question. I have built my own clubs and regripped many over the years. I now work in a sporting goods store that has club repair, and though I work in a different department, I have had to help those less experienced in regripping. Now to my question. There is a guy at work, that every time someone gets a new Super Stroke to replace their smaller factory grip, he gets it stuck about 6" on. Now I get them on, but they do not slide as easy as you just did in this video. What is the secret? More solvent? Even with solvent in the grip as normal, I sprayed solvent on the taped shaft before sliding it on. All of the others go on super slick, but the Super Strokes they have an issue with.
Yes, you must soak everything as much as possible. Apply solvent to the tape on the steel first & rub the tape. Then fill the grip & use it all on the tape. Should go on with ease!
The longer putters do tend to be a little bit more challenging. You have to use a lot of extra tape and a lot of extra fluid and you have to get the grip on the golf club considerably faster than the others. It takes a little precision.
Grexa Golf I have a long putter that I want to regrip, But don't really feel confident doing it. Any chance you could possibly do a video on it? It would be much appreciated
If you want to save the grip for re-use, you can use an air compressor with a small nosed air attachment that can fit into the hole at the end of the grip. Use 90psi in short blasts as you tug, twist the grip off. Works great. Otherwise, you'll have to cut them off with a utility knife.
Once the grip is on, if you realize that the grip is not square with the face of the putter can you rotate the grip to align it? If so will it have to be done in a certain amount of time after putting the grip on the shaft?
Once the grip is on you have a couple of minutes to twist the grip into the correct position. Always align the grip with the putter at address position and not in a vice. I just find its more accurate that way because you look down the grip and shaft the same as when you putt. Leave to dry and bingo a straight perfectly aligned grip.
Just note , that a regular rubber grip can be rotated or twisted .. alot more if needed, for this type of grip it has a core and must be rotated very little and no twist , even rotation is needed .. also for some grips more fluid is necessary so they slide on easier .. its easy and after a set you get the hang of it ..

where did you get the tape dispenser your using in the video? thank you
Is that a masking tape that you applied to the shaft?
What was the fluid you used to lubricate the grip before inserting it? Many thanks, liked 👍
I use Clubmaker Grip Solvent & also mineral spirits works just fine!
Grip solvent or mineral oil
Mineral spirits
how to remove it? can you remove and put on another putter?
No, unfortunately once it’s on it’s on for life or until it’s cut off
Great video! Where can I obtain the equipment to be fully prepared to regroup my own clubs? I’m also interested in a lift and lie machine. Thanks!
You can buy all this equipment from www.golfworks.com
Mitchell loft & lie machines are the best.
I heard the trash truck in the video and just ran out to take my cans out....
how long dose it take to dry??
1 hour min

You have to over flow everything with extra solvent.
It also helps to use good quality and more expensive double sided tape. The cheap stuff is not easy to work with.
Hi what’s the fluid that you use ? Is it just a silicon type fluid ?
Jake Davison it's from a company called Golf Works.
I use mineral spirits.
Hey Grexa Golf, love this video, but how do you regrip a long putter?

Grexa Golf Hmm interesting well thanks for that

What's the best way to remove one of these? I've got a fatso 5.0 on my current putter and I want to replace it with something a bit slimmer.
The best way to remove an old grip is to cut it off with a curved hook razor blade.

They're almost impossible to remove & save. Sometimes I think they do that on purpose so that you have to buy a new one.

Yes, try to put it on as straight as you can to start. If you do it quickly you can move it a little before it drys!

Is your workshop on a bus ?
