My chainsaw cutting wheel is in the garbage can. I don't know how it missed my hand. These are hungry maneaters! The other ones really are a great ideas and they do a nice job.
I have the rotary rasp and the chainsaw disc. The rasp removes material a bit slowly but it gets the job done. I've been afraid to use the chainsaw disc and after reading all the warnings here I'm tossing it in the garbage.
If you have doubts about it it's best not to use it.
Smart move!
I just like to appreciate and thank you for not being a list read off by a robot and a fake video keep on keeping on brother I love it
Thank you.
great comparison video. Concise and I appreciate showing the shavings.
Thank you for demonstrating not only the tool, but safe use! People need to be SUPER aware of how dangerous free grinding with these tools can be.
Great review and demo thank you!
Great video thank you very much! This video helped me decide what to do on a project I'm working on
Great video. Thanks for that. Now I know which to buy.
The last one is so dangerous considering you don't have total control over it,I lost a good friend to him using this type, the others you have better control over!
Where did you lose him?
@@lifeshort He means this tool killed his friend. not sure if you are a troll, but hopefully not.
Ty for the video! Exactly what I was looking for
Your welcome.
Those Chainsaw type ones are lethal
This is exactly the information I needed man. Thank you!
Hey thanks for the reviews. I'm a bout to learn how to make a wavy flag. This helps me decide which to use.
Great video, very informative.
Thanks for taking the time to make the video.
Best wishes.
Thank you.
Huge help. Thanks for the video.
Good show man. Don't even buy the last one. I use grinders all the time. I weld. I get the tip of the grinder in spots sometimes with wire wheels on them where it kicks back hard. Carelessness mostly. I have Dandy scars from over the years. Lol. That last one will open you up bad if you get it in a bad spot. I have no need for that gadget. I can't toss the one I have. Lol. I figure it is only good to cut a board fastly. I show it to people that gun grinders all the time. They cringe. Lol. They know. Pass on it.
That was nice man I really appreciate it I did a Google search on the what's best and found your video... I subbed again I really enjoyed informative and I like your kind of dead pan delivery
Thank you. And thanks for the sub.
Thanks a million for this.
BRILLIANT TOOL THANKS
Thnx for doing this
I have the last disc , I can say it’s very useful whenever you have a carving project , the disc removes areas where you need to add a depth or a 3D effect, although as you said as you tilt the disc deeper in the wrong direction it can convert into a mess very quick and dangerous.
Great vid 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
Pretty good review, but you really should talk about your impressions regarding the safety of each type of blade, if you can speak to that aspect. I' have seen numerous videos about the chainsaw style blade. It look ridiculously dangerous.
That would be a great boatbuilding tool for bow work especially
The chainsaw blade is being banned in th UK one misstake with that and your taking chunks of meat , theres a reason why a chain saw has a kick back lock , that thing is going 3 times faster and your hands are only 50 mm from the blade
Holly flip flop flappin smokes everyone, love it.
Thanks
Thank you.
Any ideas on how the arbortech blades would compare?
Thanks for this demo! However, it would really be nice to see these comparisons done using a few different species of hardwoods, (Oak, Walnut, Cherry, Ash, Mesquite, maybe even Bamboo (flooring), etc.,....
(and, perhaps some could be used to carve softer stones?...Soapstone, Marble Alabaster, sandstone, Lava rock,....?]
WOW. That's quite a combo.
This is much more better than a chain saw I would say ten times. It is good that you shared this video so people do not have to buy that dangerouse small chain saw stuff. The chain saw is good for cutting may be trees etc but some people are using it for small jobs and it is pretty dangerouse.
Thank you!
You're welcome!
Can the planner blade be sharpened or is it just a discard blade when dull?
Would u happen to have the link to those cutting blades, the yellow bladed one where to buy or its brand name? Regards
I bought the last one, and it looked very dangerous to me, I was afraid that those small pieces could act like a bullet one day when it flies, so I thought I should check youtube video, but based on the comment section here, looks like its worse, I'm not going to use it. Thank you guys for sharing your story.
Good work Sid !!!
Hands down, that chainsaw disc will never enter my shop
Thanks!
👍
any news on the yellow one being available? what is the closest one to it for doing work? thanks for your review!!!!
I don't have a time line yet. The turbo plane is like it.
I have been looking for the rotary planer, thanks for the informative video. where can i get #3 the rotary planer?
It's out of stock right now. Hope to have more soon.
That was a helpful review, but you could have shown these discs working at more applications, different angles, different Woods. Also the reviews I like most on RUclips have links posted to the various products you are comparing in the description. That helps a lot. Thanks.
He did give links. I heard him say the name of each one.
The sound these cutters make is valuable to us. You should have left it on instead of the music.
Yes. I won't be using music in my future videos.
Where buy disc number 3?
Does anyone make one with a 7/8ths. arbor?
Chain mail might be the only saf way to do the chainsaw one
There are only two kinds of woodworkers, those who are going to have an accident and those who have and never will again.
I'm the latter put my hand through a table saw a year ago and now I have the utmost respect for power tools.
Steer clear of the chainsaw blade!
Friend of mine had a life changing accident with a large sander.
You wouldn't think a sander is dangerous.. but it is. He was leaning into one of those really large ones, and the paper ripped and started spinning right into his stomach. Disemboweled him.
Anything that spins at high rpms or pushes around significant force needs to be treated like it can kill you. I never thought a sander was a dangerous tool.. now I know better. Wish more people knew
Thanks, nice video. Where did you get the yellow rotary planet disc?
It's a product I was selling. It's not available at the moment because of covid, but hopefully have more soon.
@@Sidswoodworkingprojects WHo makes it??? you don't even tell us the product name!
I wanted to remove the carving frm my furniture, searched alot bt found this video i was looking for
Good luck with the project.
SCR is a must...
You can buy the last chainsaw tooth blade for 8 dollars and up on ebay I bought one for 10 from a US based seller
They are also famous for being one of the most dangerous wood working tools available.
Where can i buy the yellow rotary rasp and the yellow rotary planer, in the US? Thanks!
They are unavailable right now. Working on production issues.

Hey I am interested in those discs but I have no idea where to get them and can’t find them on Google why was there not a link put down where to get them.
Links in description.
Thanks to these reviews I will stay away from the chainsaw cutter.
The chainsaw type can blowaozrt and REALLY damage you
Would you Please tell me exactly the spelling of the both yellow Rotary discs
Curious how long will the blade last. The last one you used. You mentioned Harbor Freight.
Yes harbor freight has a carbide grit disc. For the price it will get you by. It doesn't remove alot of material and it leaves a rough finish. As far as how it will last depends how much you use it. I've used mine on around ten projects and it doesn't appear to have much wear yet. Sorry I can't give you a better answer.
@@Sidswoodworkingprojects My intentions were to grind down a tree root low enough so it won't get in the way. I did, however, use the grinder for 2 massive cypress knees and then a little bit on the tree root. I must have worn it down because it was making burn marks. I tightened the blade so tight, I had to go to Harbor Freight to see if someone could help me loosen the blade. He suggested I use a reciprocating saw. I used that as well. Thank you for replying back.
Finalmente un mancino che maneggia l'utensile con la sinistra, come me
Onde comprar?
which one of these is the safest for a beginner?
All except chainsaw blade
That chainsaw disc is very dangerous this fella on RUclips actually was holding with both hands when he had a kick back and he's got permanent damage to his hand now because it cut his fingers badly. Can't find the video I tried to get a link for it.
Stumpy Nubs? He got chewed up by one of those. Here's the link to the video he made about it ruclips.net/video/A7xWHEWov8M/видео.html
Nice review. The chainsaw blades need to be outlawed. I have seen videos in slow motion and when the teeth catch, the grinder spins around so quickly it is a blur. Fingers are gone! There is some photos that show the aftermath of a chain saw blade catch. The blade caught the clothing and crawled all the way up to the man's face. It cut his throat, through the jaw bone and into his ear. Heavy gloves are mandatory for any of these blades.
Is this pine you are working with?
It's Douglas fir. Framing 2×4
Watch the stumpy nubs video on what happened to him with the chainsaw one. No way would I have one of those!!!! I like the others though.
Looking for the brand name of the yellow rotary planer in this video.
Rotary Planer is the brand name. It's a product I am selling. Unfortunately I'm on hold due to the pandemic. I'm hoping to have them available again soon.
@@Sidswoodworkingprojects loving the yellow one
Em felizmente não tem no Brasil
Can you please tell me where to purchase the ROTARY PLANER?
It's currently unavailable. There may be more available soon.
@@Sidswoodworkingprojects Thanks for your reply. Can you still tell me where to look for them? THANKS!
It's a product I was selling. I'm having issues with production and working on it.
Спасибо за информацию.
To be fair good video for review I would say if your planning to use the chain saw disk they are very very dangerous as like a chainsaw the disc can bite and kick which doesnt sound to bad but I have seen the damage this blade can do , so honestly avoid it.
I like all except the chainsaw one. Throw it away before you cut your fingers off.
Thank you for the video. But the music really is not needed. I would rather hear the noise from the grinder and no music.
Chainsaw blade is simply to dangerous. Seen one break and it was not pretty.
Just a thought, these attachments for angle grinders spin rather swiftly. Maybe it is wise to pay a little more for a quality product which is locally made rather than a cheap and lesser quality product from China. Personally, my safety is means more to me than keeping the Chinese economy afloat.
I got over 200 stiches in my leg with the chainsaw model.. 😇🤐
Looks like a lot of people are warning against the chainsaw disk. Just too dangerous of a design for an angle grinder.
Por fa me mandas los discos llo te los pago los necesito
I don't have any available right now
Stay away from the 4th one. You lose digits in a blink.
Would you use a chainsaw to carve wood in an angle? Not likely. And that chain disc is insanely more risky to use 😂 just use the other blades for the angle carvings please lol so many have suffered nasty life changing injuries
Yes that chainsaw disc can be very dangerous in the wrong hands. When ever using an angle grinder always cut so if anything happens the grinder will pull away from you.
Thanks for the comment.
You didn't name all makers of the blades.
I need to try the chainsaw wheel now with all the fear, I love my grinder cut off wheel and have been using it for years now I cant rember , first experience with an open cutting wheel my boss / friend said be friends with this because it bites if you don't respect it, he was not joking or exaggerating , many awesome tools are very dangerous if you don't know what your doing, lose respect and complacent, and accidents happen by human error and tools can fail as well , that was a reminder to self i guess. Ha ha ha , ....I'm getting a chainsaw wheel for my grinder ... Weeeeeeeee
nice grinder blades mask?? that's why grinders have guards obviously.
Chainsaw disc should be banned, they can kick back and cause crazy injuries and also may break and fly at you.
Dude, cool review but you might need to step up those energy levels......
If you have nothing nice to say, don't say anything at all!
Wanda Kowalski Wanda, I think you need to think long and hard about whether RUclips is the best place for you to be spending any length of time.
And trim your finger nails....aaaaahhh!
@@tallandhandsome29 I don't think they should be allowed to communicate with others
Don't get the last one.
I am buying this dice Pakistan
I have to down vote this video. Reviewing a chainsaw cutting disc without mentioning the severe safety issues of these kinds of discs is not doing anyone a favor. Some will decide to take their chances and buy a tool like this, which is fine if it's an informed decision. But this video isn't really informing people of the risks. It's easy enough to find pictures of horrific angle grinder accidents from people using this kind of tool.
For those interested, Stumpy Nubs has a RUclips video that captures the moment an angle grinder with this kind of disc jumps out of his hand and climbs up his body. A decent angle grinder has more than enough power to overcome even a solid two handed grip when a disc like this catches the wood.
Do not try to carve with the chainsaw disc!
You wouldn't carve with the back tip of the bar!
Stodoys comes with very useful plans with all the details you need.
Grinders spin too fast for me to trust some China made chainsaw spinning at arms length
As if kickback on a 10 lb chainsaw wasn’t dangerous enough... a lot of horror stories around those chainsaw discs.
Don't buy a chainsaw disc.
Now, you have no excuse...
I wonder how we are going to feel looking back at the days when you could watch a video about power tools for woodworking and get a 45 second commercial that doesnt mention a product, company, or price, but explicitly targets the demographic of... Gen Z, female, black, woke, video game designers wearing cat ears, with an empowering message of "I'm a young, female, black, woke, video game designer, and there should be more young, black, woke girls who do what I do, even though i like to feel special because there aren't many young, black, woke girls doing game design. If they want to do it, they should do it, because it's a thing they can do if they want to."
That's the whole commercial. The success story is for existing, and the target is specifically people with an age, race, gender, and identical to the person in the commercial. It could be selling Fruit Roll Ups, Ford trucks, or a device that irons your nipples...
THIS VIDEO is more of a commercial than the freaking commercials nowadays.
Take a breath. This is simply a review of my opinion of products. I would try a big sign on the overpass of a freeway.
@@Sidswoodworkingprojects Come on man. Commercials that advertise nothing but focus on a person playing video games with cat ears on a video about angle grinder heads for woodworking? I didn't choose it, you didn't choose it, it sells nothing, but someone, somewhere scripted, shot, paid for, promoted, and placed this advertisement...
Yes, "the algorithm" but still, I felt the incongruency deserved comment where it occurred, which is here. I wish I had been watching a video about skydiving and was fed a commercial about how we need more transexual prostitutes from Madagascar in the golf cart wheel balancing industry, but alas...
How on earth could you even begin to think that a rotary chainsaw blade being used on a grinder at 8,000 - 18,000 rpm could be safe. Completely ignorant. They are all dangerous but that one is absurd! All I can say is "good luck"!
Yes it is very dangerous if you don't have much experience. Don't try it if your not comfortable with.
I've been doing it for a long time and it really is not a big deal.
Why the horrible intrusive insulting music? Did an adult review this video prior to release? This is pitiful, though it does appear you know what you are doing and best of luck!
That chainsaw wheel...dangerous stuff. I have a double-layer stitches scar that stopped me from carving for a while. Lucky it didn't sever anything serious.
Evan Peterson I’m amazed these are still available
@@lesbaty8919 Check out Stumpy Nubs' channel. He got chewed up by one of those chainsaw disks and made a couple of videos about it. ruclips.net/video/A7xWHEWov8M/видео.html
Yep! I almost lost my finger with that one, excellent tool for the job! But like other ones, very dangerous!
If they are so stable why don’t they make them in the big sizes like all other tools? It’s a goldfish with sharks teeth! Please people check this one out on RUclips where it’s getting a lot of very bad publicity.
They aren't for carving. Only use for voting sheet
My doctor who carves warned me off of the chainsaw wheels. Lots of kickback and stupidity injuries with these. They cut into legs and hands just like you might expect an angle grinder outfitted with a saw chain would. Much harder than a chainsaw to control in most kickback situations because of the size and lack of weight. The abrasive might give you a bad road rash if you weren't paying attention.
Ya they can do alot of damage. You have to pay attention and be aware of what you are doing.
@@Sidswoodworkingprojects I use these chain disks and found that doubling them up and offsetting the teeth makes them safer. With 44, instead of 22 teeth, there is always a tooth engaged in the wood and the kickback is reduced, as is the running away.
@@j.chriswatson6847 Good idea.
Agree. In fact, the UK banned that tool. Stumpy Nubs showed his injury from a chainsaw carver on his RUclips channel. I won't touch one of those. Scared the beejesus out of him and he's a very experienced woodworker.
I came here looking for reports on the chain saw one, after seeing this, I just bought the planer. That looks like a lot smoother cut and Controllability than the more aggressive ones.
Thanks. I like it much better.
Amazing

Very useful knowledgeably info..

Your welcome. Thanks.
Didn't know about some of these. The rotary planer can be chucked into a drill press and used as an actual planer
Interesting...never thought of that.
maybe it can be mounted on a radial arm saw
Might be disappointing. An angle grinder may be a bit faster than the drill press. Plus if you just need thickness and/or flattening, a router and a sled will do a great job.
Pls talk about the likelyhood of kickback with each disc. The chain is a kickaholic
