Oh, and thank you for starting your video with acknowledgement of country's upcoming leadership. I really appreciate it not being ignored. It is a constant on my mind and when mentioned I feel a little less scared, knowing people feeling the same are out there.
Hi Andrea, so inspired by the colour wonderness of your new yarns, just so beautiful! The US election has also been of great interest in Australia. Thank you for sharing. We are thinking of you and send lots of love ❤️xx.
Your Lumme is gorgeous. I am also a lover of Sonder Yarn Co and seem to always have a sweater's quantity in my stash. And thank you for articulating what so many of us have been feeling after the election. Happy knitting through the holiday season!
Hi Andrea, love all your knits and yarn acquisitions, choices! You inspire me and I too feel overwhelming sadness about the direction many countries are headed towards. You are too cute about how u describe your FO’s! Keep knitting and sharing, connecting with us! 💖
Welcome back. And yes, these past few weeks have been a rough ride. Living in Texas, I never feel very 'seen,' but this time around I've been especially challenged. You are wise to knit through it all; as Elizabeth Zimmerman always said, "Knit On." And what a good choice to do a deep dive into hats. Quick, satisfying and objects of such beauty. As to a sweater rec for that glorious tweed, I absolutely promise that the Daelyn would be perfection. I've done it in a tweed, and it displays the yarn so well. The front is stockinette and the back is garter, which comes around at a angle on the sides. Give it a look!
Stunning knits as usual, Andrea!! And I may just have to twin with you if I ever finally cast on my Lunme. I think this is my favorite color palette I’ve seen for it!! You are so lovely and eloquent in expressing your devastation at the choice made on Election Day. I hear you. I see you. I think where I live I had plenty of time to fortify myself, prepare for this outcome and think about how to move through it. But I have lots of friends and family in other places that were equally shocked. I think you’ve nailed it. The best thing I can do is double up on the joy, compassion and acceptance I bring to my daily life…. And wait. Our system of government is being tested. Rather than live in my fears, I’m going to (for now) continue with the hope that we will come out the other side…battered and bruised, but stronger nonetheless.
You're such a warm, beautiful presence and thank you SO much for your intro, and for speaking the things I'm also feeling. We will especially need our community in the years ahead, and I'm so thankful for you. Being here with you, being inspired by your making--well, you're a gift. Adore you. xoxo
I am right there with you about Nov gloom. So glad knitting can bring us comfort! Loving your Lumme and the colors of your Gogodynamo shawl! Thanks for sharing your experience with the fiber shed. I missed the opportunity to check them out when they were down here in SD.
Missed your podcasts so was so happy to see you today. I made the Love Note by Tincanknits without the lace pattern. I really love the shape of it and I always get comments about it because I think it totally highlights the yarn I used. I think you’re amazing! Just keep on truckin’
I adore that pop of red in your shawl, it elevates the whole piece! Thank you for speaking up and out re: the next 4 years. I am terrified and yes I have been knitting more than ever to ease my anxiety. Maine is part of the Northern New England Fibershed. I think it’s a nationwide movement with regional chapters. Thanks for showing us the Seachange Fibers yarn, I hope to purchase some, someday! ❤
Andrea, I couldn't agree more, thank you for sharing. I'm always inspired by your projects and you sense of color. I've been devastated for weeks over the election results and can't watch anything political anymore, it's just so toxic. This knitting community brings me such joy and I look forward to all your videos.
Love all your knits ❤ I’ve knit 2 hats in cashmerino and I’ve soaked both in cool water with eucalan and eased then into shape and just let them dry and the are fine . Love your podcasts, share your sadness even from over the pond x
Great podcast Andrea. Covering some difficult topics with grace. We as makers are lucky to have a place to work out those feelings. All the best to you and your family. ❤ Can you please share the shade of lipstick you wear? It is a beautiful shade of red 💋
I didnt even notice those handy tips on the AlpenGlow tool either!! It really is amazing and super slick it that snazzy red die cut metal - love that we found those! And the LOR reference was extra special too! 💫💫♥️♥️
Thank you so much for GOING THERE, and articulating so well what so many of us feel post-election. I too have been reeling from the results and using knitting to help me avoid despair!
Thank you as always for your video. Always enjoy watching. For sweater idea, not sure you want to go this casual, but i made this simple design and it has become my favorite knock around sweater. I used a rustic gray from Woolentwine. So, special yarn + basic pattern = perfection. I know your yarn is worsted, but I'm sure it could be worked with that weight: Autumn League Pullover by Alexandra Tavel . Have a lovely holiday season!
Oh I'm so with you about the election results. I don't read or listen to the news anymore, because when I do I can feel my blood pressure go through the roof. If I may make a pattern suggestion, and it's one of my best fitting sweaters to date, is the Doppio by Seunghee Hong. Let us keep knitting madly through the next four years!!!
I have knit that exact hat (Classic ribbed beanie) in the Cashmere merino Bloom in poppy. I did block but just soaked and squeezed water out and laid flat. I find if I block hats aggressively they get too big and don’t fit. I love the fit of the hat as it’s so stretchy!
Hi there! I’m caught up now! Why not try the Lucca sweater by Kristen Finlay. It will really showcase the yarn. I tested it and love it. Kristen is one of our indie dyers in Australia. I reckon you will love it!❤. So happy you had a great time at Rhinebeck. I hope to get there some time.
@ You can’t go wrong with a simple raglan construction. I used a mystery yarn and a suri silk lace weight so it can accommodate a range of yarns/gauge.
What about the Felix sweater for the yarn with the flecks. It is easy, just that little bit of eyelet at the raglan shaping. I live your Nightshift shawl - the colours are like jewels glowing away. And the BFL/Masham yarns are very gorgeous!! I have not tried Sonder Yarn but I have purchased some from Les Garcon in Montreal and love the blend.
Hello Andrea, I’m new here. It means a lot to me and to other vulnerable families like mine to hear words of support. The US election result was devastating for my family. Unfortunately, the past 10 years of toxic US politics have emboldened some people in Canada too. For Canada’s next election there is a candidate catering to MAGA-like Canadians who wish to demonize and vilify families like mine. I’m scared, angry, sad, and devastated about the world in which we live. I cancelled cable TV because I can no longer engage with the toxic messages being spewed. I’m only seeking out content that aligns with my values and I was very happy to find your channel. I’m now carefully vetting any of the creators I choose to support (e.g., RUclips channels, patterns, yarn purchases). Thank you so much for giving me the “good feels” today. What you put out in the world matters.💕
Hi Andrea- I really enjoy your podcast and knitting aesthetic! Way back you were working g on a blanket made of triangular shapes. Can you please share its name? Thank you and I look forward to hearing about your beautiful knits! Dafna
I totally disagree with you, I'm so happy that President Trump won as are the majority of the people in our country!!!! I'm unsubscribing from your channel, I don't think you should have gone there as I'm sure many of your listeners feel the same.

We are all feeling the pain. 🙏🏼 Your shawl is stunning! 💕
Love your knits. Think the orange would be awesome. Knitting is a wonderful community that I too treasure during these challenging times.

wow, first one! watching from Italy, came from LA, so I'm getting a little taste of the old life there -- really enjoy your blog, keep it up!

Hello! Cashmere Merino Bloom blocks well. I’ve had no trouble with it losing softness. I hated it in a sweater though. SO much pilling.

Lucca looks great! I’d second this suggestion 👏🏼👏🏼

Love your lumme. Trying to enjoy the holidays. Then have a lot of projects and things to keep me busy for 4yrs. Tsk.
Thank you for another podcast. Denise from olive park yarns
I've had the gingham sweater kitted for a while ...
I love you!

I totally agree Trump is such a breath of fresh air ❤❤
How about Felix by Amy Christopher’s ? It’s simple cardi or pullover to showcase beautiful yarn and not oversized….💖🧶
