A BLESSSING! I was just trying to figure out how to animate a tail wagging and I was confused on how this type of movement gets animated, but BOOM I found this video! Thank you so much, it means a lot!
I just started getting serious about studying animation and struggled so hard with overlap and animating flags until I found your video about wave principle. This was also really really helpful to me!! I actually understand things better now lol. Thank you!
I am just starting to self-learning animation. It feels daunting. I am so grateful that I came across your channel! You are a GREAT INSPIRATION. Can you make a video about how you were self-taught? Any books/inspiration to recommend?
Great tutorial Micah! I'm digging in your videos and i'm finding a lot of inspiration from your works! I would really like to see a tutorial on the "clean up phase" since i can't understand how you obtain such supersmooth curves ahaha. Keep it up!
Thank you so much for this~ I've been animating wavy lines since 5 years ago and I was only able to make it smooth/fluid after watching this video 😭 Watching mine on loop makes me happy now lol
Very well explained, and I love how you included the principles to help understand the wave movement - I'd thought was difficult to grasp - better. Thank you so much!!! 🙏
I've been struggling but now atleast I have a reference to follow but surely it takes me for long thanks for this it will really help me in the future cuz I love animation now
I’m making an animation meme, XD Meme, and my main OC, lol me, is in it. I’m animating her tail in part of it I’ve decided to animate the tail on my other meme, Contact Meme, and it is amazing
I don't know if you were going to see this but I do have a question can this method work on a fox humanoid that has six tails if not how can I make all six of them wag at the same time without it looking chaotic?
I want to say it's a little misleading to be starting each of these tails from the ends as that's the hardest part to judge the position of, I find it much less difficult to start at the base with each one
What if the base of the dot is moving too? I'm trying to animate the rear of a cat moving side to side but am really struggling. This is my 2nd animation I'm doing and am not doing to well. I mean I am using FlipaClip but still. Can you help?
Great tutorial. Which animation program are you using? What would recommend for iPad pro 12.9 2020? I have been reviewing Clip Studio Paint Ex as it allows me audio as well. Any suggestions? Thank you.
I animate in TVPaint. It's a little pricey, but it's a one time purchase. I just got Clip Studio Paint Ex. I haven't learned it much but it seems to be a very powerful program capable of doing just about all you'd need for 2D frame-by-frame animation. I can't recommend anything in particular for IPads since I work on a Wacom Cintiq hooked up to my computer.
