don’t. stop. talking. about. this. ITS SO IMPORTANT. i promise that even though these aren’t the videos that perform well; they are the videos that are gonna change someone’s perspective, change their life. so many people need this information and might not have access to therapy or dbt specifically. this really encouraged me and i hope you know how incredible it is that you took the time to document and put this together for the well-being of your viewers. please keep it up💗

To anyone with adhd or c/ptsd or other conditions that get in the way... some of these tips don't work for us - that's ok. What I learned in therapy is to roll with the tips and strategies that do work for me, like challenging my assumptions and asking myself what evidence I have etc. I'm so glad that Alana found ways to make it work for her. I love that the stigma is slowly getting reduced.
That said, does anyone have other tips they want to share for cptsd and adhd?

Alana...you posted this video during one of the hardest times of my life. I'm working on fighting depression and my now ex boyfriend broke up with me and I feel lost and that really threw me off guard, my work is my art career and it's all from home and I can't seem to figure out and contain my emotions and it feels like all the progress I've made is lost, but this time I want to do things differently and this video came in perfect timing. Thank you

I don’t try to control my thoughts. I just remember that they are thoughts & thoughts don’t define us. Think of the worst thought you’ve ever had about anything, does that define you? No! So no thoughts we EVER have define who we are, they come & go! That’s what I live by!

    • @Alana.Arbucci
      @Alana.Arbucci  2 года назад +8

Observing your thoughts as just thoughts and not part of you is very helpful. But then again sometimes thoughts lead to beliefs. If you have negative thoughts and it leads to negative beliefs and negative self talk, that can be harmful. Have to find what works for you and it seems like you did so keep killing it!

I think this is my favorite video of yours i’ve ever seen. As someone who struggles with depression and anxiety i cant tell you enough how much comfort this video brought me. I have also gone to therapy for years and now im at a point where im doing okay and havent had the need to go because i feel so much better and i’m on a good medication. This video was a reminder of all the things i learned thru therapy and it made me feel less alone🥹 knowing that you also go thru this. I’m so proud of you and all the work you’ve put into your mental health. Bc i know from experience how hard it is to get to a place like that. ❤️you have no idea how many people you are helping by using your platform to talk about this.

Thank you so much for speaking on this topic. I think sometimes, people believe that happiness is something that just happens... & maybe for some people, that's true- but I think the vast majority of people have to put a lot of work into breaking old behavioral patterns & learning new ways of living & interacting with the world, to get to a place where they feel confident in themselves & satisfied with their life & relationships.

18:00 I need this so much! One of my major issues is not being mindful and present. As you said, I overthink everything and even create fake scenarios in my head that feel so real that leave me with anger, irritation, or in tears depending on the scenario I came up with. My mind is running a million miles per minute.
I also need to push myself to go outside. I take vit d capsules because it feels like it's too much energy to step outside. The thought of it exhausts me. I find myself staying home the 4 days off and pretty much only leaving the house to work at a stressful job 3 days a week.

I recently completed 2 years of weekly DBT sessions and it has been life changing for me. I had depression and anxiety for years prior to this, but felt like the medication and therapy wasn't helping and that there was something else going on. I was then diagnosed with Bpd (borderline personality disorder), DBT is great for helping with the negative thoughts that are associated with the condition. Sometimes a diagnosis can also be really helpful for understanding why you feel/act the way you do.
Sending love and support to anyone who is dealing with MH issues. Stay strong, it can get better ❤️ x x

Praying for you, Ashley 🤍 I have two youngins of my own at a young ago also (I’m now 29, my oldest is 6) I’ve been in that deep dark hole as a sahm and remember feeling so lonely and lost. Now I’m a work-ahm. The kiddos are now in school so that definitely helps me get “me” time. Honest communication with the partner is a must too. But the only long term, root-cause solution to finally heal was through a personal relationship with Jesus. (I used to be an atheist) just wanted to throw that out there and let you know I’m rooting for you! 🤗

I lost you for a few years, Alana. I am so happy to say that I looked for your videos again. One reason being that I wanted to get back in touch with my femininity. I basically grew up in a masculine environment and I never had that motherly feminine influence. I have always wanted it though.
You exude femininity in such an authentic way. You’re a real ass girl with all the feelings and I admire you so much for sharing your humanness with the world.
You help me so much in remembering what I need for myself as well as my wants as a woman.
The other reason being that I genuinely wanted to know how you are, what you’ve been up to, and anything and everything you’ve accomplished in the time I had stopped checking in.
I just wanted to say thank you for continuing to share your life journey with us through out the years.
I do not know you personally, but I love you for the real, beautiful, and authentic person that you are.

That’s what I do (health coach,) but not for a company. For MYSELF! It’s hard being am entrepreneur, wearing so many hats but there is no better feeling that giving someone that shoulder to cry on, to vent to, and being that accountability partner they need. I also love what you said about the PAST. That’s where it belongs. Maybe you should be a therapist or a health coach!
