Betty, It was your channel that really got me into Keyboards. Your content was so welcoming and non judgmental and it was nice to see someone just talking about keyboards and just being themselves. I know the internet can be hard at times, but please don't let it get you down. I've enjoyed watching your channel and seeing all the growth, from seeing improved video editing to just the overall presentation, and It's even given me some courage to maybe start making my own keyboard videos (who knows, I'm still mowing over that idea lol) Please keep it up! To be honest I wasn't a subscriber and don't watch all your videos, but I've always gone back to your written guides for whenever I need a quick recap. Keyboards have become such an elitist hobby and people love to gatekeep newcomers because it helps maintain their "status", but it's thanks to channels like yours that really help the community as a whole. With this keyboard, I find that it got easier for some of my gamer friends to get interested in custom mechanical keyboards. And it happened organically. I didn't even ask them or coerce them to give custom keyboards a try. The brand recognition plus the ease of dipping their toes into the hobby due to the availability of parts from Glorious is a game changer.
As someone totally new to this hobby who just bought a GMMK Pro, thank you. I appreciate how real and honest you are. I think it's really crummy that people get so snooty and judging about their hobbies. They don't realize that it keeps people from wanting to join in for fear of being judged by the community. Again, thank you for being real as hell.

for every hater there are hundreds of us who love and support you, i hope our support can fill up your mental space and leave no room for the mean comments to nag at you. this sort of thing can really affect your day to day workflow, so anytime you get reminded of a mean comment, just imagine hundreds of people pushing them away and helping you get back up

CONGRATULATIONS BETTY! That definitely took some courage for you to speak out like that, so good for you. All creators go through what you are with people in the comments. I can't count how many channels I am subscribed to that have had the same or similar speech. You have a great channel and there will always be at least that one person in the comments, "we both know there's more," that has to bully or be negative and they make it personal. I know it is easy for me to say just ignore them and move on but we both know that is what you must do which is not easy to do just easy to say. This was as short and to the point I could make this comment so please forgive me Betty and those who also are reading this. Now about the keyboard. I like it and it isn't perfect but Isn't that the point of being customizable so you can make it your own? YES!, it is. Keep doing what you're doing, Betty. I just recently found your channel and I have been really impressed with what I have seen. Honesty and sincerity certainly comes across in what you do. I'm sure it's hard to ignore the negativity when you see it because it is an affront to something personal that you have done and have invested a lot of time into. But, just try to push past it. In regards to 12:38 - "Some Real Talk" Thank you for including this portion of the video. I really wish more people within the community talked about the toxicity of some of its members. I remember when I entered the hobby and got my first mech (Anne Pro 2) and getting absolutely flamed by GMK fanboys and Keycult elitist--although, I have nothing personal against those products and their followers. This comment is really true. This hobby can either be super toxic or super welcoming depending who you talk to when you start off. What really makes a difference is if you tell someone you don't/do like something and they're mature enough to say that that's okay cuz this hobby is subjective.

People are judging this keyboard super harshly because it come a bit from outside the keyboard comunity. If it was a custom kit that you had to group buy with a different brand name people would judge it totally differently. Honestly I'm impressed with Glorious actually attempting to talk to the keyboard comunity and putting out a pretty solid product. They have plenty of room for growth but I could never see razor or steelseries doing something like this. Great review. Ignore the haters.
I just bought this keyboard after looking at reviews from other channels. I like the 75% form factor, the hot swappable nature and the fact that I'm very much a newbie to the hobby that I can just buy switches and caps and slowly try and mod it. Didn't know there was such hate for it? It looks great for a beginner board that can cross into enthusiast territory once you open it up and try your own mods.
You made a great decision! Again, keebs are subjective! It's all about taste and what you like! I think you made a great decision! I too, also bought a GMMK Pro and LOVE it! I bought some Unicorn switches from Hippokeys and love it even more now! I think that you can make whatever you want - the point is: if it makes you happy, it was the right decision! Great purchase! :D I love my GMMK Pro too!

@@fmtoussant The topic in general has a lot of drama surrounding it, which IMO, was caused by Glorious’ marketing. The way they used certain terms like “GOAT Stabilizers” and “Ultra-premium” just didn’t really sit well with a lot of people in the community. Yes, without a doubt, it is a huge step forward to inviting or newcomers into the hobby, but that also means many people might be misled into thinking the GMMK Pro is “top tier” or better than it actually is, which is why Glorious and everyone involved is getting bashed so hard. Unfortunately, some content creators like Betty and Alexotos were caught in the crossfire and received a lot of negative feedback as well. I think that many were just angry about aspects of the GMMK Pro and made them look elitist and toxic. I know that there are actually some people that are elitist and just gatekeep, but I really hope this isn’t the lasting impression of newcomers into the community. As an enthusiast myself, I would love to see newcomers and big companies enter the community and it really sucks that this is the first impression that a lot of people are getting.

A company that calls itself Glorious is of course gonna market their stuff as godly, and there's nothing wrong w/ that within normal bounds of advertising (ie no false ad). In any case, I want to see ergo / split keyboards take off. The human anatomy was not made for a single straight slab of keyboard. Separate pieces should be the norm IMHO.
@@fmtoussant I do agree that many things that were said were very harsh and were uncalled for. As for Glorious' marketing.. well it is what it is hahaha. The board might not be perfect or as good as they make it out to be, but I'm sure that a huge portion of consumers will enjoy the product regardless. Personally, I haven't tried any ergo keyboards because I'm not a huge fan of its aesthetics, but I'll definitely try it out someday.

Originally I came for the keebs, the algorithm did it's thing and it worked. After the first video I watched of yours, I stayed for you! Even with all the hard work you put into providing useful information, your character and personality still cuts through the mix and it really sets your videos apart from a lot of other channels. At the end of the day, your success will never be defined by the people who choose to disregard your human emotion. I wish you all the best and am excited to see where you take this community.
I don't usually comment wish washy stuff on videos but you were the person that got me into keyboards, I got my Keychron K1 after watching your channel, I switched to the K6 and started modding because of your videos and I'm now buying the GMMK Pro and getting to experience building a custom without the hefty price tag and needing a soldering iron. Your content is so approachable and friendly and I've enjoyed watching all your videos regardless of whether I'm actually interested in buying the product you're reviewing. The people out there going out of their way to attack your character over literal pieces of plastic and metal have no life. But you're right, just because they're stupid and what they say is stupid, doesn't mean it doesn't hurt or stick with you. All I'll say is, for everyone one of those people out there, there's a hundred of us who love and appreciate your content. So thank you Betty.
That real talk hit me right in the feels. Long time ago I tried to get my own channel off the ground, and things started to gain a little bit of traction, when I hit a snag. The community I loved and had been making videos didn't like my take on something. and not only did they trash me in the comments, they started whole threads just to attack me, chasing me from video to video, and not just for the content of my video, but for my race, my weight, everything. And the admins of that community did nothing to stop it, in fact, a few of them, under pressure from those out for my blood suspended my account pending a review of obviously fake claims from these people. It really destroyed my passion for the project, and so I left. I'm really happy you have kept going, and continue to put on your brave face, I love your channel and hate to see those bad guys getting you down. Stay strong, know that what you're doing is appreciated, and positive, and there are more good people than bad, even if we're not always as vocal ;)

Awww come on, its just RUclips. When people are behind screens on their keyboard, they suddenly forget the person on the internet is actually a person and then all the toxicity and rest arises. That's how the internet is, sad but that's just how it is. Just know that the huge vast majority of us are the opposite of those people. Its just that we don't praise you like that much in the comment section or anywhere cuz we just have normal conversation about the subject of the content unlike haters who go around and repeatedly spam their garbage and usually, the mean stuff stands out from the rest. Don't let those acidic nasty people get to you - I'm new to the keeb scene, new to all the terms and stuff, and you've personally helped me find some fun new things to spend money on, educating me to things I should be looking for in switches, caps, plates, stabs, and the like. I'll be lubing switches for the first time soon and you gave me the confidence to do it, so thank you.
To give a solid answer about shipping speed. I received my keyboard to wyoming in 8 days. It arrived a day early as well. It is a great starting point for someone getting into the hobby. I spent 234 but I went with gaderon black switches and I couldn't be more excited to open it up and be able to gain knowledge and be more comfortable when gaming. Good review!

I been diving into the custom Mechanical keyboard rabbit hole and I can say that you're one of the channels that I enjoyed watching along with Glarse. I actually looked up on what you had to say about the GMMK Pro because I want a decent but not bank-breaking keyboard and your review was great. People that waste their time being toxic online are small brain. Love your channel and videos, always happy to see more Asians representation everywhere.
I just want to say, you have really improved over times on your video. I started mechanical keyboard hobbies, not from looking from elitist on reddit, but starting from the very basic keyboard, which is keychron. All of these clowns that critisized the early streams/premiere of this board are actual keyboard warriors lol. How can you call yourself an enthusiast if you hate on a big company making a solid entry level keyboard to encourage others to get into the hobby. Thank you for the review! I am sorry that you encountered some of the negativity. As someone that is new to the enthusiast keyboard hobby it is nice to see that there are "off the shelf" kit options that can be had and worked with. Unfortunately it seems that this like many other hobbies is populated by a fair amount of people that want to be gatekeepers. I have been very interested in the GMMK pro personally so this very detailed review was helpful.

Betty, It was your channel that really got me into Keyboards. Your content was so welcoming and non judgmental and it was nice to see someone just talking about keyboards and just being themselves. ??? Who's been hating on one of the most wholesome educational channels that cover mechanical keyboards? To be honest I wasn't a subscriber and don't watch all your videos, but I've always gone back to your written guides for whenever I need a quick recap. Keyboards have become such an elitist hobby and people love to gatekeep newcomers because it helps maintain their "status", but it's thanks to channels like yours that really help the community as a whole. With this keyboard, I find that it got easier for some of my gamer friends to get interested in custom mechanical keyboards. And it happened organically. I didn't even ask them or coerce them to give custom keyboards a try. The brand recognition plus the ease of dipping their toes into the hobby due to the availability of parts from Glorious is a game changer.

for every hater there are hundreds of us who love and support you, i hope our support can fill up your mental space and leave no room for the mean comments to nag at you. this sort of thing can really affect your day to day workflow, so anytime you get reminded of a mean comment, just imagine hundreds of people pushing them away and helping you get back up

I can't count how many channels I am subscribed to that have had the same or similar speech. You have a great channel and there will always be at least that one person in the comments, "we both know there's more," that has to bully or be negative and they make it personal. I know it is easy for me to say just ignore them and move on but we both know that is what you must do which is not easy to do just easy to say. People are judging this keyboard super harshly because it come a bit from outside the keyboard comunity. If it was a custom kit that you had to group buy with a different brand name people would judge it totally differently. Honestly I'm impressed with Glorious actually attempting to talk to the keyboard comunity and putting out a pretty solid product. They have plenty of room for growth but I could never see razor or steelseries doing something like this. Great review. Ignore the haters.
Glorious is known for scamming customers, pretty sure that's also why they are judged so "harshly".

I just bought this keyboard after looking at reviews from other channels. I like the 75% form factor, the hot swappable nature and the fact that I'm very much a newbie to the hobby that I can just buy switches and caps and slowly try and mod it. Didn't know there was such hate for it? It looks great for a beginner board that can cross into enthusiast territory once you open it up and try your own mods.
You made a great decision! Again, keebs are subjective! It's all about taste and what you like! I think you made a great decision! I too, also bought a GMMK Pro and LOVE it! I bought some Unicorn switches from Hippokeys and love it even more now! I think that you can make whatever you want - the point is: if it makes you happy, it was the right decision!

@@fmtoussant The topic in general has a lot of drama surrounding it, which IMO, was caused by Glorious’ marketing. The way they used certain terms like “GOAT Stabilizers” and “Ultra-premium” just didn’t really sit well with a lot of people in the community. Yes, without a doubt, it is a huge step forward to inviting or newcomers into the hobby, but that also means many people might be misled into thinking the GMMK Pro is “top tier” or better than it actually is, which is why Glorious and everyone involved is getting bashed so hard. Unfortunately, some content creators like Betty and Alexotos were caught in the crossfire and received a lot of negative feedback as well. I think that many were just angry about aspects of the GMMK Pro and made them look elitist and toxic. I know that there are actually some people that are elitist and just gatekeep, but I really hope this isn’t the lasting impression of newcomers into the community. As an enthusiast myself, I would love to see newcomers and big companies enter the community and it really sucks that this is the first impression that a lot of people are getting.

In any case, I want to see ergo / split keyboards take off. The human anatomy was not made for a single straight slab of keyboard. Separate pieces should be the norm IMHO.

The board might not be perfect or as good as they make it out to be, but I'm sure that a huge portion of consumers will enjoy the product regardless.
Personally, I haven't tried any ergo keyboards because I'm not a huge fan of its aesthetics, but I'll definitely try it out someday.

I don't usually comment wish washy stuff on videos but you were the person that got me into keyboards, I got my Keychron K1 after watching your channel, I switched to the K6 and started modding because of your videos and I'm now buying the GMMK Pro and getting to experience building a custom without the hefty price tag and needing a soldering iron. Your content is so approachable and friendly and I've enjoyed watching all your videos regardless of whether I'm actually interested in buying the product you're reviewing. The people out there going out of their way to attack your character over literal pieces of plastic and metal have no life. But you're right, just because they're stupid and what they say is stupid, doesn't mean it doesn't hurt or stick with you. All I'll say is, for everyone one of those people out there, there's a hundred of us who love and appreciate your content. So thank you Betty.
That real talk hit me right in the feels. Long time ago I tried to get my own channel off the ground, and things started to gain a little bit of traction, when I hit a snag. The community I loved and had been making videos didn't like my take on something. and not only did they trash me in the comments, they started whole threads just to attack me, chasing me from video to video, and not just for the content of my video, but for my race, my weight, everything. And the admins of that community did nothing to stop it, in fact, a few of them, under pressure from those out for my blood suspended my account pending a review of obviously fake claims from these people. It really destroyed my passion for the project, and so I left.
I'm really happy you have kept going, and continue to put on your brave face, I love your channel and hate to see those bad guys getting you down. Stay strong, know that what you're doing is appreciated, and positive, and there are more good people than bad, even if we're not always as vocal ;)

Awww come on, its just RUclips. When people are behind screens on their keyboard, they suddenly forget the person on the internet is actually a person and then all the toxicity and rest arises. That's how the internet is, sad but that's just how it is.
Just know that the huge vast majority of us are the opposite of those people. Its just that we don't praise you like that much in the comment section or anywhere cuz we just have normal conversation about the subject of the content unlike haters who go around and repeatedly spam their garbage and usually, the mean stuff stands out from the rest.

I can't believe people are attacking You and other yTubers over this keyboard, it's insane, totally illogical. I just can't even.... Don't let those acidic nasty people get to you - I'm new to the keeb scene, new to all the terms and stuff, and you've personally helped me find some fun new things to spend money on, educating me to things I should be looking for in switches, caps, plates, stabs, and the like. I'll be lubing switches for the first time soon and you gave me the confidence to do it, so thank you.
To give a solid answer about shipping speed. I received my keyboard to wyoming in 8 days. It arrived a day early as well. It is a great starting point for someone getting into the hobby. I spent 234 but I went with gaderon black switches and I couldn't be more excited to open it up and be able to gain knowledge and be more comfortable when gaming. Good review!

Betty, you inspired me to get into the custom keyboard hobby. You changed the way I viewed keyboards. Used to see them as "just peripherals". Now I see them as a way to further immerse myself in work and gaming. Thank you for doing what you do. I bought a keychron k4 to use with my tablet, and I just bought the gmmk pro, and after seeing your opinion of this board I'm definitely glad I did my research. I know I'm new to all this, but I am picking up on a lot. Again, thank you.

I actually really appreciated this review and your real talk at the end. I know folks can say 'ignore the haters' but the thing is, you (or whatever creator) does just that. You press report, delete, etc, but that doesn't invalidate nor make better of the fact that you read some ignorant shit that really hurt. You can kinda tell you weren't enthusiastic about this review just from the tone of your voice, especially comparing it to your other more upbeat videos. I been diving into the custom Mechanical keyboard rabbit hole and I can say that you're one of the channels that I enjoyed watching along with Glarse. I actually looked up on what you had to say about the GMMK Pro because I want a decent but not bank-breaking keyboard and your review was great. People that waste their time being toxic online are small brain. Love your channel and videos, always happy to see more Asians representation everywhere.
I just want to say, you have really improved over times on your video. I started mechanical keyboard hobbies, not from looking from elitist on reddit, but starting from the very basic keyboard, which is keychron.

All of these clowns that critisized the early streams/premiere of this board are actual keyboard warriors lol. How can you call yourself an enthusiast if you hate on a big company making a solid entry level keyboard to encourage others to get into the hobby. Just cause you spent $800 your custom mech doesn't mean you talk down on others. Following this release just made me realize how toxic this community is.

Thank you for the review! I am sorry that you encountered some of the negativity. As someone that is new to the enthusiast keyboard hobby it is nice to see that there are "off the shelf" kit options that can be had and worked with. Unfortunately it seems that this like many other hobbies is populated by a fair amount of people that want to be gatekeepers. I have been very interested in the GMMK pro personally so this very detailed review was helpful.
This isn't exactly related to this video but just wanted to say my HHKB Classic came in today that I partly decided on because of your review (got the same colorway actually) and I absolutely love it.
