- This is a demo I made using a vocal processor by Electro-harmonix - harmony machine and vocoder VOICE BOX.
The song is called "Nothing Better than Home", composed specifically for this demo.

Hello! Beautiful sound, I love this so much! I really want to be a sound healer and I am beyond confused on what I need to buy when it comes to the getting all the reverb, EQ, compression, ect. I am not the most techy person. Any recourses? Or do you teach how to set up everything? TY
so can you turn this thing on and off like if you are singing and only want it to come on for the chorus, is there a pedal or something with it?

@@wortumwort9023 hey, thanks for the interest! I have several accounts on RUclips, the one called “Jazzatomy”, most of the music there is mine :) And also the one called “Pienenu Vins” also has lots of my music :)
i'd only use that live if I was doing a one-person show. In a recording situation, just sing the harmonies yourself and the audio quality will also be better. It's a good result, though. Wonder if you could run a guitar into it. Will it mimic any sound, I wonder?
Have you played around with their orange vocoder box? Which one do you like better?

I have a question about this pedal. Can you keep reverb on while also turning the harmonies off? Like can you have reverb you want on and then press the pedal to activate the harmonies?

Thank you! Yes, the instrument definitely needs to be plugged in and playing, or the machine will start hitting you with random harmonies and that’s never good 🤪

I have this pedal, but unfortunately don't use it- I plug it directly into my amp (made for vocals) and always get static when I sing or speak. Anyone have any insights into why? I'd really like to use it
Thank you! The static might come from ground, try shoes with rubber shoes :D But to be serious, you should check your wires and electricity connectors
Lights on a dimmer switch on the same circuit is number one culprit.
Does this model have a compressor?
I have this but want to know if i could find a way to make it track my key without an instrument attached
I doubt there is a way to do that, because it has to get the info somewhere and it doesn't have an additional microphone or an AUX input or something

@@Cyael hm, I think Boss and TC-Helicon (advanced models like Voicelive) can do that, or Digitech as well, but trust me, it’s nearly not as good as your hoping it will be, just imagine how many different sounds it can catch…

Thanks! The mic is going through the effect unit into an audio interface :)
What if I ran this at the end of my pedalboard after my Looper and ehx freeze..would that allow me to free up from having to play to keep it going? And would me playing lead guitar over the loop cause it to malfunction due to trying to track the lead lines over it as well as the loop or freeze?
Hey! Yes, it will, because the more notes you play, the more info the pedal will get, and the more confused it becomes since every note influences the function of the chord.

Nope, the talk box is a completely separate device, it works differently

Can this unit do 2 part harmony? It seems only 3 part and more can be done. Am I missing something? I bought this but now I'm wondering if that was a good idea.
To be honest, I haven't been using this unit lately, so I'd have to check. I will do that sometime soon and will try not to forget to get back to you :)))) But don't worry, just try spending more time with the unit and I'm sure you'll find ways to use it beautifully!
I found out that you can use the voice mix knob to do it. I'm gonna try to get some more time with it before the next gig.

where you playing an instrument or just using a backing track?
Lauren Power both, but you can’t hear the piano, only when I used the vocoder, for other presets I turned the volume of the piano off, since I had the backing track as a means of comping

EHX often reuses the same chassis and knob layouts with different circuit boards and paint jobs. It’s efficient. Mike Matthews shows it in a video tour of their facility in NYC.

How do u record this into fl studio or protools?
Protools is too complicated, I just plugged everything into the sound interface and used the good old Garage Band :))))))

No, only one. Well, you could maybe use a splitter or smth, but why would you need 2 mics?

I get what you're saying, but I haven't seen a pedal yet that would sound natural enough, they all "give themselves away" somehow...
Sorry, but you just connect the microphone or you must connect an instrument to get the harmonies?
With this pedal you have to have an instrument, otherwise the harmonies will be random and you don’t want that

Does it use phantom power?
Kurt Blake the effect units don’t usually use phantom power, but rather give it out. If you meant that instead, then yes, it is possible to activate phantom power, there’s a special button for that

No, because when you're live you can't use your hands to twist knobs or use your feet to enage preset or bypass. And what about all those cables? You'll surely trip on them!

Thanks for the comment! Yes, because the vocoder effect is meant to create vocals from the sounds of an instrument and uses voice just for words or syllables etc.

Interesting effects but it didn't exactly answer my question of whether it 'pitch corrects' and if so does it do that without sounding too robotic. That's a fair amount of cash laid down to find out.
It doesn’t pitch correct, it shifts, pitch correction involves alteration to the original voice, this one works with duplicates. If you need pitch correction, then you should check out another ehx box - v256 vocoder, it has a pitch correction function in it. Or also a lot of TC-helicon processors do that, also Boss
