Nah, I think Mick and I just have some of the same taste in synths every now and then. I just wanted to slow it down and make it nice and dark/ tech sounding...which is what new Doom did so yea there might be some similarity but I had old Doom in mind.

It's always a mystery. Game development was less coordinated back in the day and you'd frequently get cover art that differs entirely from the game aesthetic (see also the Mega Man original cover art). We should count ourselves lucky that the Doom cover only featured an extra marine (which is fine anyways, cause the game has co-op and its a good way to advertise the feature) and a weird SMG gun that doesn't really exist in the game. I think the cover art was made by Adrian Carmack who was the official artist for the game, but he is always described as a morbid reclusive/loner type by his former teammates who liked gore and weird/perturbing art like Giger. Also probably why the Doomguy is about to die in the cover as opposed to being triumphant. I think they told Adrian to go wild with his art because they liked his style and this is what he came up with.

Cyber demon was my fav. loved modding the game, changing the voices, Doom 3 was tight loved the story, and DOOM Latest was just brutal and tons of fun, your guy pissed being stuck in a tomb for so long, just pissed and then goes on a rampage! Ah doom, some of the most fun I had gaming. Sick remake though man!
