The only thing that stops me from really getting into POE is that I need a degree in physics to figure out how to make a build that can actually do endgame.
@@michaelbrewer6578 took me 10 years to try poe1. after few months u can start to tinker around with ur build since the items that u are looking for sometimes are really expensive/ hard to craft. Path of buildings also helps so much and its not hard to understand

I’ve put almost 300 hours into Poe and it’s taken 6 characters for me to comfortably do tier 13 maps. I’ve never gotten my voidstones or seen a pentacle boss fight first hand. 300 hours is absolutely NOTHING in this game and that alone shows just how complex this game is to understand. It’s satisfying when things work and feels terrible when they don’t. It’s a love hate relationship and I hope it’s a bit easier to understand in poe2 for newer people
I bought my first supporter pack back in 2021, I believe it was called "First Blood" or something along those lines - that's when decided to give the game a try. Logged in > got past 1st boss > said "fuck this skill tree" and didn't log back in until end of Crucible. This was right after the huge disappointment that was D4 and have been playing PoE ever since. I bought the last x2 $480 packs and haven't spent any of the coins (yet). I did it to support the studio and from what we've seen so far from PoE2, the money's been put to good use. On the other hand, I still regret buying the D4 Ultimate Edition pack. Can you consider doing a video on why D4 and POE don't have an in game public lobby like d2 had where you can meet up with random players to level, get rushed, trade, sell items, etc, it just seems like such a fun and interactive opportunity and now the game feels more like a "solo" game unless you already have friends that play which most people don't. Just curious why they've never brought back this feature I'm sure others feel the same?

Really hope PoE2 is for me. I've done about 5 leagues or so in PoE and it just isn't for me. It should be which is why I've put so many hours into it, but it misses the mark for my personal tastes. I will still say it is an incredible game, but that doesn't mean I get enjoyment out of it. I play SSF because for me trading doesn't feel good. Not just the immersion breaking process of going to a website and talking to people, but I like to get drops that get me excited and not excited to go sell to someone so I can buy something. Trading seems fundamental to the game design and something the community likes a lot. PoE for me has always lacked a fundamental dopamine hit of getting cool items. Getting a bunch of unique throughout my campaign journey and not even equipping one or equipping it just because even though it doesn't really improve my build that much I have nothing else to do with it and whatever it has better stats is the biggest loss of enjoyment for me. Or getting good base items and having to go craft them or alter them to make them worth while for me makes a PoE league feel tedious. The other part is build friendliness for those who don't want to use guides and just want to build a character themselves. Luckily I think with no gems on gear this will probably be much easier. Any time I struggle it is generally because my gear isn't good (again coming from someone who does not enjoy trading) and when I do get an upgrade trying to figure out how to get the right gem slots to keep my skills and running out of orbs to reroll colors the game becomes annoying for me and certainly not fun. I'm not trashing the game or saying it needs to change for me. The community loves it and that's great. What I am saying is I'm someone who should be really into this game as it hits so many things not just right, but many times outright perfect, but ultimately misses the mark being that my feeling of fun doesn't offset my feeling of tedium.
@@99range92def I enjoy a lot of aspects of it. The support gems, the environment, the skill tree, the amount of builds I can dream up and wish to play through the game with. I think the campaign story is pretty cool too. The leagues weren't back to back. My first was Abyss, then I think it was called Harvest next, the last one I did was Kalandra which seemed like a lot of people hated, but I personally thought was pretty cool. Many months to a year between wondering if it would hook me the next time. As I said I WANT to like it, like desperately wish it would be the game that captivates me because it has such a great content cadence and the monetization is incredibly fair. Big reason I'm scoping out PoE2 content is hoping it will scratch my itch better.
Poe 1 was developed by hardcore gamers for hardcore gamers... that's why it always had a solid fanbase. I hope POE 2 doesn't make the same mistake than D4 and tries to address everyone... because as you can see, that doesn't work.
They are attempting to make it approachable for couch co op. We will see. I’m skepticL. I’m stilll happy with poe and it’s going to keep getting updated too.
So far ir seems they might do well and involve more people, plus it's a free game, so if it is more accessible to more people it doesn't hurt to try and it will still be complex and hard as hell.
caveat on no limitation, while you are not limited by the character you chose, but a lot of skills will need a specific weapon, so you'll often be limited in which skills you use by the 2 weapons you chose.
You should stop saying things you don't know are true. "All the stash tabs you'll ever need" is something you flat out don't know. GGG could change Delirium and say, "Oh, it's different now, so buy a new stash tab," like they've said for RF MTX already.
On the other hand, they deleted metamorph and replaced it with ultimatum. And guess what, they didn't make a new tab to buy, they just changed the metamorph one to the ultimatum version. While they could, in fact, do what you are saying, they showed us it's unlikely to occur
@@fabi-fly That's a change in PoE 1. They've shown that they are willing, and have indeed charged for MTX if they change the core content - like they did with Righteous Fire's MTX. Ultimatum took the content that already existed - they only changed the name of the stash tab to Ultimatum. That's not generosity, that's the bare minimum.
Reason 4 is what I enjoy about POE right now. I did try POE when it first came out but my CPU couldn't handle it then. Saw the Exilecon videos and was completely blown away and started playing POE. Can't believe this was off my radar for all that time. The build variety alone gets me to come back and play and I haven't even done Endgame. It's not my focus. If I try it, I may change my mind at any rate. Love your Passion for POE2 and in my eyes lots of your 'Reason Why' vids are very similar. Regardless, I still watch them. lol
If you haven't done endgame, you've barely scratched the surface. PoE is by far the most content filled arpg to date, let alone the absolutely insane build varieties
The only thing I wish GGG would do is to make the story slightly class-specific, coming from a personal MMO background. That, to me, would offer maximum replayability, to see how the story changes according to the character I choose.
PoE 2 is funded by a larger company than Diablo 4 is. Tencent dwarfs them. Their Video Game section out-earned Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo 3 years ago, Sony is the only company with higher earnings than Tencent right now.
The only other ARPG that can stand it's ground along POE2 is Last Epoch! Really, LE is amazing and I love it! I am no longer ARPG-starved between patches... When POE2 comes out, I am not sure I will even have the time for games other than Last Epoch, POE1 and POE2.... :D We are eating well! Oh and, D4 bad... at least for now!

Hey Tri, Earlier, I posted that I thought you were economically incentivized to promote Path of Exile 2. However, after watching more of your videos, which are really alluring, by the way-well done-I have been convinced by you to try Path of Exile on my Xbox for the reasons outlined below: I've always been a die-hard Diablo 4 fan in the Path of Exile or Lost Epoch or any other ARPG versus Diablo 4 debate. I have always chosen Diablo 4. You know, my 12-year-old PC has limited storage and I only get to play five to six hours a week. Therefore, I only choose one game. However, recent experiences have led me to install Path of Exile on my Xbox and give it a try. Here are the reasons for my change and some feedback on Diablo 4: Overpowered Builds: I've been playing Barbarian, and it is very annoying to see that Barbarians with the whirlwind bleed build seem to be overpowering everything (90% of barbs I party with have the exact same build). When there are one or two builds that are completely overpowered, the game loses its sense of customization and creating your own character. It becomes about blindly following someone else's build and gambling on whether you get the items you need. If you do, great. If not, you're significantly behind those with these cheese builds. Trading System: Trading has so much potential to be a fun endgame achievement, but currently, you have to use clunky external sites and overlays for a seamless trading experience. We need a proper in-game trading system to enhance the Diablo endgame experience. Variety of Endgame Activities: It seems that all I can do is farm Helltide to get materials and then very slowly and boringly progress up the pits, switching between the two. There's no reason to do Nightmare Dungeons because my glyphs are maxed, and you can only do Tormented Bosses when you can cobble together a group. This lack of variety makes the endgame not as fun as it could be. These issues have pushed me to explore other games like Path of Exile, which offers a different experience. I hope Diablo 4 can address these points and bring back the excitement and customization that made it my go-to ARPG. Thanks again for your great content! My favorite feature about PoE2 appears to be the imminent fact that it will drop expansions faster than I can play them, while also having insane amount of base content. This will give me infinite exploration, as I like to play thoroughly, learn thoroughly, and avoid too much repetition, if I can. Being able to engage in a new adventure each day after work is something I so look forward to. The features this game has to offer, have me drooling. For the first time in my gaming history, I actually do not know which class I will play...although...I have narrowed down the choices to my favorite top 12.
Listening to this made me realize that they kept the complexities of PoE1, but had time/money to get new players to try it so they can tailor the tutorial in campaign. It’s something other games can learn, but not copy. Some genius play in development.
I'm still exited for PoE 2 but i'd be lying if the 3 years of delays has't been getting to me, or PoE 1's campaign for that matter, couse after PoE 2's launch, be it beta or main game, i expect 1 to fade from existence unless they do something that really makes it unique.
I think "games should be for everyone" has really been distorted in recent years. What the phrase USED to mean was that nobody was excluded as a person. Everyone could play games and everyone was welcome to play any game that resonated with them and provided them with fun. Big triple A publishers have taken that phrase to mean that the game should appeal to everyone, which is patently impossible. Very clearly so because what one person loves, another hates. You can't make the game for both because to please one, you have to displease the other. Trying to make a game for everyone is making the game for nobody. I'd rather PoE stay the way it is now: unapologetically by oldschool Diablo 2 fans FOR oldschool Diablo 2 fans. The beauty of that is that the game will please the target audience a lot because it doesn't have to compromise on its vision to attract people that won't like it. While that does mean that I won't love every game, it also means that there will be games I love a lot and that's a good trade off for me seeing as I don't have infinite time and unlimited money. I can't play ALL games, so I'd rather there be a smaller number of games I love than a vast ocean of bland mediocre games that did their best not to exclude me specifically but also lack all of the features I love for fear of excluding someone else by adding them.
I'm an ARPG casual. I was able to play through the D4 story campaign on World Tier 1. I really enjoy just getting on and killing things. Will I be able to play PoE2 and have fun or will I just get frustrated? For example, the "Souls-like" descriptor for games is a turn off for me. I don't care for challenging bosses. I just want to get past them.
Yeah I don't know about that,I do want a boss to challenge me,I want to be killed by it so when I figure out all the mechanics it feels like an accomplishment to get past it. I hate the simple minded bosses like Diablo 4 has

" Our 20" seat provides ample space for cross-legged sitting, allowing you to rest both feet on the C7. I wish someone made a video explaining to people who don’t and won’t play PoE1 how they can go in today and purchase all the stash tabs they need for PoE2. I would spend it right now if I knew wtf I was doing.
I would say just wait until PoE2 launches to make stash tab purchases. If you've never played PoE1 before then your first experience in PoE2 will likely not require much stash tab space. Once you're more comfortable with the game you can start adding different types of stash tabs corresponding to what type of gameplay/league mechanic you like doing most. Plus, if you buy special stash tabs right now in PoE1, they might not all carry over because some of the item types are league-specific (Blight oils for example) and the league itself might not carry over. We'll see.
yeah that makes zero sense, until you play the game you don't know what stash tabs you want. You can narrow the game down to focus on certain activities you enjoy and ignore the ones you don't. only get tabs for the activities you want.
honestly the game would be sooo much better if it was an auction house like WoW rather than direct player trading, part of the reason I have skipped this last league was because things like trading became too time consuming people not answering

I did not know they were bringing leagues from poe1 to 2. That actually worries me. A lot of the leagues they created were absolutely terrible and the devs are too proud of them to leave them out of the final game even when the majority of the playerbase didnt want them. The reason poe1 died is because of the braindead balance decisions and just blatant pride of the dev team that didnt want to leave out something the playerbase hated if they spent resources making it
They need to reduce POE 1's campaign from 10 down to 5 they should fuse parts of acts 6-10 into 1-5 and make it a new experience so over all getting to maps is faster and the campaign feels a little fresh I a huge fan of doing the campaign in ARPGs but POE 1's is way too long i miss the old days of 4 acts TBH
Farout speculation here 🥸, what if the end game "mapping" for poe2 is what they'll be showcasing in the next "Settlers of Kalguur" league... The onley reason PoE is thriving is cuz Diablo hit rock bottom period. But its nice to have a game and devs that care about its community. Thats fantastic

Knowledge will transfer. They are using systems from poe1 in poe2. Watch some interview with Jonathan he explains how it’s basically the same gsme but they branch off. Poe2 will be easier to develop in, specially melee animations they mentioned that for sure. the addition of wasd will encourage more player dexterity moving around damage
The game is not even out and you're shilling out of your mind. I get that you're excited for the game but please be realistic. PoE 2 may be a great game but it might as well be completely garbage overhyped mess just like Diablo 4. It certainly won't be perfect for many people due to the sheer complexity it aims for like it's predecessor. It caters to people who already played PoE 1 but dropped it due to the lack of essential Quality of Life features it's not going to be some revolutionary game that you're making it out to be. It'll succeed for sure because of GGG's huge core audience but if you think it'll be some miracle game then you're delusional.
They let you respec. It just costs something (although much less at lower levels than at higher levels). Free respecs make choices meaningless which is the exact opposite of what PoE is about and wants to be.
@@ludwigtheholyblade777 It isn't though. Your character stops being a character and becomes just a vehicle for you to use whatever combination of skills you feel like at any given time. No choice you make on the skill tree matters if you can just undo it for free. PoE aims to give every choice you make meaning. Free respecs remove that meaning. Edit: By the way, respecs in LE aren't all free. In skill trees, they cost xp.

Reason 4 is what I enjoy about POE right now. I did try POE when it first came out but my CPU couldn't handle it then. Saw the Exilecon videos and was completely blown away and started playing POE. Can't believe this was off my radar for all that time. The build variety alone gets me to come back and play and I haven't even done Endgame. It's not my focus. If I try it, I may change my mind at any rate. Love your Passion for POE2 and in my eyes lots of your 'Reason Why' vids are very similar. Regardless, I still watch them. lol
If you haven't done endgame, you've barely scratched the surface. PoE is by far the most content filled arpg to date, let alone the absolutely insane build varieties

The only thing I wish GGG would do is to make the story slightly class-specific, coming from a personal MMO background. That, to me, would offer maximum replayability, to see how the story changes according to the character I choose.

PoE 2 is funded by a larger company than Diablo 4 is. Tencent dwarfs them. Their Video Game section out-earned Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo 3 years ago, Sony is the only company with higher earnings than Tencent right now.
The only other ARPG that can stand it's ground along POE2 is Last Epoch!
Really, LE is amazing and I love it! I am no longer ARPG-starved between patches... When POE2 comes out, I am not sure I will even have the time for games other than Last Epoch, POE1 and POE2.... :D

Earlier, I posted that I thought you were economically incentivized to promote Path of Exile 2. However, after watching more of your videos, which are really alluring, by the way-well done-I have been convinced by you to try Path of Exile on my Xbox for the reasons outlined below:
I've always been a die-hard Diablo 4 fan in the Path of Exile or Lost Epoch or any other ARPG versus Diablo 4 debate. I have always chosen Diablo 4. You know, my 12-year-old PC has limited storage and I only get to play five to six hours a week. Therefore, I only choose one game.
However, recent experiences have led me to install Path of Exile on my Xbox and give it a try. Here are the reasons for my change and some feedback on Diablo 4:
Overpowered Builds: I've been playing Barbarian, and it is very annoying to see that Barbarians with the whirlwind bleed build seem to be overpowering everything (90% of barbs I party with have the exact same build). When there are one or two builds that are completely overpowered, the game loses its sense of customization and creating your own character. It becomes about blindly following someone else's build and gambling on whether you get the items you need. If you do, great. If not, you're significantly behind those with these cheese builds.
Trading System: Trading has so much potential to be a fun endgame achievement, but currently, you have to use clunky external sites and overlays for a seamless trading experience. We need a proper in-game trading system to enhance the Diablo endgame experience.
Variety of Endgame Activities: It seems that all I can do is farm Helltide to get materials and then very slowly and boringly progress up the pits, switching between the two. There's no reason to do Nightmare Dungeons because my glyphs are maxed, and you can only do Tormented Bosses when you can cobble together a group. This lack of variety makes the endgame not as fun as it could be.
These issues have pushed me to explore other games like Path of Exile, which offers a different experience. I hope Diablo 4 can address these points and bring back the excitement and customization that made it my go-to ARPG.

My favorite feature about PoE2 appears to be the imminent fact that it will drop expansions faster than I can play them, while also having insane amount of base content. This will give me infinite exploration, as I like to play thoroughly, learn thoroughly, and avoid too much repetition, if I can. Being able to engage in a new adventure each day after work is something I so look forward to. The features this game has to offer, have me drooling. For the first time in my gaming history, I actually do not know which class I will play...although...I have narrowed down the choices to my favorite top 12.

Listening to this made me realize that they kept the complexities of PoE1, but had time/money to get new players to try it so they can tailor the tutorial in campaign.
It’s something other games can learn, but not copy. Some genius play in development.
I'm still exited for PoE 2 but i'd be lying if the 3 years of delays has't been getting to me, or PoE 1's campaign for that matter, couse after PoE 2's launch, be it beta or main game, i expect 1 to fade from existence unless they do something that really makes it unique.
It would be PINNACLE if they took the Avowed/Pillars of eternity treatment

I think "games should be for everyone" has really been distorted in recent years.
What the phrase USED to mean was that nobody was excluded as a person. Everyone could play games and everyone was welcome to play any game that resonated with them and provided them with fun.
Big triple A publishers have taken that phrase to mean that the game should appeal to everyone, which is patently impossible.
Very clearly so because what one person loves, another hates. You can't make the game for both because to please one, you have to displease the other.
Trying to make a game for everyone is making the game for nobody.
I'd rather PoE stay the way it is now: unapologetically by oldschool Diablo 2 fans FOR oldschool Diablo 2 fans. The beauty of that is that the game will please the target audience a lot because it doesn't have to compromise on its vision to attract people that won't like it.
While that does mean that I won't love every game, it also means that there will be games I love a lot and that's a good trade off for me seeing as I don't have infinite time and unlimited money. I can't play ALL games, so I'd rather there be a smaller number of games I love than a vast ocean of bland mediocre games that did their best not to exclude me specifically but also lack all of the features I love for fear of excluding someone else by adding them.
I'm an ARPG casual. I was able to play through the D4 story campaign on World Tier 1. I really enjoy just getting on and killing things. Will I be able to play PoE2 and have fun or will I just get frustrated? For example, the "Souls-like" descriptor for games is a turn off for me. I don't care for challenging bosses. I just want to get past them.
Yeah I don't know about that,I do want a boss to challenge me,I want to be killed by it so when I figure out all the mechanics it feels like an accomplishment to get past it.

I wish someone made a video explaining to people who don’t and won’t play PoE1 how they can go in today and purchase all the stash tabs they need for PoE2. I would spend it right now if I knew wtf I was doing.
I would say just wait until PoE2 launches to make stash tab purchases. If you've never played PoE1 before then your first experience in PoE2 will likely not require much stash tab space. Once you're more comfortable with the game you can start adding different types of stash tabs corresponding to what type of gameplay/league mechanic you like doing most. Plus, if you buy special stash tabs right now in PoE1, they might not all carry over because some of the item types are league-specific (Blight oils for example) and the league itself might not carry over. We'll see.
yeah that makes zero sense, until you play the game you don't know what stash tabs you want. You can narrow the game down to focus on certain activities you enjoy and ignore the ones you don't. only get tabs for the activities you want.

I did not know they were bringing leagues from poe1 to 2. That actually worries me. A lot of the leagues they created were absolutely terrible and the devs are too proud of them to leave them out of the final game even when the majority of the playerbase didnt want them. The reason poe1 died is because of the braindead balance decisions and just blatant pride of the dev team that didnt want to leave out something the playerbase hated if they spent resources making it
They need to reduce POE 1's campaign from 10 down to 5 they should fuse parts of acts 6-10 into 1-5 and make it a new experience so over all getting to maps is faster and the campaign feels a little fresh I a huge fan of doing the campaign in ARPGs but POE 1's is way too long i miss the old days of 4 acts TBH

I know you mentioned we might be going to Kings March in your speculation video, so boat league traveling to different areas might actually be fully integrated into poe2 end game 😎

Knowledge will transfer. They are using systems from poe1 in poe2. Watch some interview with Jonathan he explains how it’s basically the same gsme but they branch off. Poe2 will be easier to develop in, specially melee animations they mentioned that for sure. the addition of wasd will encourage more player dexterity moving around damage

The game is not even out and you're shilling out of your mind. I get that you're excited for the game but please be realistic. PoE 2 may be a great game but it might as well be completely garbage overhyped mess just like Diablo 4. It certainly won't be perfect for many people due to the sheer complexity it aims for like it's predecessor. It caters to people who already played PoE 1 but dropped it due to the lack of essential Quality of Life features it's not going to be some revolutionary game that you're making it out to be. It'll succeed for sure because of GGG's huge core audience but if you think it'll be some miracle game then you're delusional.

They let you respec. It just costs something (although much less at lower levels than at higher levels). Free respecs make choices meaningless which is the exact opposite of what PoE is about and wants to be.

@@ludwigtheholyblade777 It isn't though. Your character stops being a character and becomes just a vehicle for you to use whatever combination of skills you feel like at any given time. No choice you make on the skill tree matters if you can just undo it for free. PoE aims to give every choice you make meaning. Free respecs remove that meaning.
Edit: By the way, respecs in LE aren't all free. In skill trees, they cost xp.
