This game is 11 years old champ and it was horse shit for awhile before it got to this point. They aren't going for the same target audience. @@Kanoog So you won't play PoE, but you know it takes a 1000 hours to learn a little bit of it? Surely you can see how that makes no sense? PoE is nowhere near as difficult as people who know nothing about it believe. Also, Diablo has been out for 28 years now, so it isn't like Blizzard are new to this. THEY chose to start from scratch with a team that had no clue how to make an ARPG. That's on them. Project Hades was the origins of D4, and that started around the beginning of 2014 before becoming Project Fenris in 2016, so it's not like they were rushed and forced to release an incomplete experience. They chose to release a game that was missing basic mechanics from D3. It took ~9 months to get a preview of enchant outcomes, FFS! How do you just forget to have that? Anyway, back to the point I was alluding to; GGG release more content, for free, every 3 months than Blizzard have managed in the last year, all while working on PoE2 and with a far smaller studio. GGG aren't achieving this because the studio is manned by superhumans, it's because they give a shit about their game, they listen to their playerbase (even if they have to go against the players' wishes sometimes for the good of he game) and they work hard. The fact that GGG give eveything to the players for free, and then the players CHOOSE to pay for MTX to support the game should show you which game has the better relationship with their community. GGG have players, Blizzard have customers. If Blizzard released D4 for free I would have maybe dropped a few dollars for season 2, because that showed progress, and maybe season 4, maybe. Everything else has been garbage. Anyway, rant over. Please don't think I am annoyed at you, this is me being pissed at Blizzard. I love the Diablo franchise, have done since I first played back in 96 and I think it deserves better than what Acti/Blizz have turned it into.
This all started when a group of guys wanted to make an aRPG because they were tired of the lack of new releases in the genre and if I remember right. They never charged for the game, or any expansions it has had. I mean yes they have the QoL things you really kinda wanna buy, but I got started on console lol so got used to it 😂
@@TheRahyah Blizzard has done this multiple times. They keep purposely putting their announcements and leagues on the same day or immediately soon after GGG's shit.
Man, I was originally going to go magic this league but gawd damn melee = log in dude. I understand only like 20% of the game but it is enough for me to get to red/purple maps and have a great time.
I agree. Heck, I've never even made it to the end game despite playing off and on for about 1.5 years. I drop in for new leagues. Try stuff out like different classes and different builds. In addition to whatever the new league mechanics are. And it's still great. It's the game I play when I'm tired of TV, books, or gacha games and just want to sit down for a few hours and have some mindless fun. I go through streaks where I play for weeks. And some where I play for a day or two and that's all. Don't be overwhelmed by potential complexity, as you can enjoy game immensely without knowing almost any of it.
@JimOMoore can you tell me a bit about it. I played it before years ago for like 5 months. I totally forgot how to play don't remember what class I had
I literally tried to get into Poe last league but found out melee builds were trash so I fell off, it’s like they knew. I’ll definitely try to get into this game again
Imagine being this blunt not to admit the greatness of PoE as some dingleberries pointed out in the comment section. The amount of commitment PoE does no other aRPG can do, nor ever will.
It’s not that players don’t aknwoledge the work. It’s simply not a fun nor good game for casual players. PoE do ton of work but it’s a game for hardcore fans. Maybe the second game will change this.

D4 has nothing to offer the second you roll credits on story which is antithetical to everything that makes ARPGs great.
If you look at GGG's financial statements from 2022 and 2023, you can see how they are investing a lot of their revenue on PoE2 to put a lot of resources/money into making better content - I'd argue that money does make good content when in the right hands, especially when you are a more agile, experienced company like GGG where gameplay comes first and you are run by seasoned, hardcore ARPG players.
This is embarrassing for blizzard this is what happens when all your resources go into the actual game not just marketing cinematics just made the switch from diablo to poe and God damn don't know why I didn't switch over sooner
The thing I notice between these chats and Blizzard, are that these guys give you absolute truckloads of meaningful content at a blistering pace, and if they put new stuff up it's not loot boxes, it's support packs, and I think that says a much better vibe since they are giving you thousands of hours of games, and if you wanna support them, you can, and you get some neat stuff to boot. I love this new league at the moment.
Since I started POE in the mid of Tota I’ve wanted to build Flicker Strike, but it was always either ridiculous cost or just garbage tier. Looks like I can league start Flicker this season!
I haven't played Path of Exile in a while, as much of the upgrading and such still feels overwhelming, but I'm watching this super excited, and I just reinstalled on my PS5. Honestly can't wait to try this out! I think RPGs suffer a lot from narcissism, insofar as the majority of the motivation is personal advancement, minmaxing stats, getting stronger solely for the purpose of one's own power and riches. And there some of that here, of course, I wouldn't expect it to go away, I wouldn't want it to, but building a city and delegating work to the people, gives it a feeling of not just benefiting myself but the citizens as well. This looks really awesome and kudos to GGG for putting so much effort into a League mechanic. Hopefully the city stays around after it's over, I'd love for that to be a permanent fixture, like some other systems have been. It's been amazing watching PoE grow and evolve and expand the ways that it has.
This game never winning Labour Of Love on Steam is an absolute joke. I'm pretty certain no game ever have had this much content made after 1.0 release. Insanity!
Well that actually is an overview over an entire expansion + league. D4 expansion is $40 and seeling products is not that new and pretty common tbh. Not saying It's gonna be great. They have to deliver first.
Can't wait for this league and POE2. Really enjoy your videos, your knowledge and enthusiasm. Thanks much.
They should make an extraction ARPG, like Escape from Tarkov but PoE, you get resources, leave on your boat and build a heck of a cool city. Then you craft your gear in your city.
GGG is just amazing. LE last update was incredible, but this is even better and free. Meanwhile, D4 shows only 1 new class that will cost 40$+ What a joke D4 is so far (even though the Spiritborne DOES look amazing).
The class can't be bought, it's the expansion that cost 40$, the class is just a part of it. It's awesome how GGG still can put these out for free and I love them for it.
I've been wanting to jump on PoE 2 on day one, but figured I would go into PoE for a bit before release of the sequel, and it looks like I came at the right time! I will wait till launch of this new content and start from there. This all looks awesome!

I played a lot of PoE and purchased a ton of stash tabs on the ps4 version but, woefully, will need to purchase them all again now that I’m focusing on playtime on the Xbox Series X. Transferring all of my characters from ps4 to Xbox in Diablo IV was a snap and oddly something not a single influencer has praised them for. This is what happens when the people in charge of making a game actually enjoy and play video games. GGG is such a good game studio because the people making the decisions actually like to play games. If you want to know what makes GGG different then say Blizzard for example it is that in company meetings they refer to it as a game rather than a product and they use terms like fun rather than "player enjoyment" and they ask questions like "do players like this" rather than "how is this affecting customer retention". It is about how the people in charge view the game and the players, GGG has the philosophy that if you make a good game the players will come and spend money, other companies look at it as what is the minimum effort needed to convince people to buy the product.

This game is 11 years old champ and it was horse shit for awhile before it got to this point. They aren't going for the same target audience. PoE is for people who want ONE game and to spend 1000 hours to learn a little bit. Diablo 4 is for a more casual player base, I'll NEVER play PoE because its the biggest time sink.
@@Kanoog His comment still stands though, there's a huge difference between the two studios, no matter your personal choice of game. I play both and get super bored in D4 after a few days, but that's me.
It was horse shit until like 1.3 which was 7 or 8 months after release. @Kanoog

Don't be overwhelmed by potential complexity, as you can enjoy game immensely without knowing almost any of it.
understanding 20% of the game makes you a pro lol.
I started nearly 6 years ago after Diablo Immortal was announced, and I understand about 15% of the game, so you're doing great 😀

The first 3 minutes of this had me hyped af! This league looks fn amazing

Do I need to use a spreadsheet to make a character?
If you want to go all the way? Yes. Several. Made by the few people who did not go insane on their way to 'understanding the game'.
