I love Paris and this Metro is such a thing. Full of history and variations, one of the most interesting and oldest metros in the world. London subway is another system to visit. I hope we could see a London tube extravaganza one of these days.
In the past, lines bis were sections of lines 3 and 7. But they were not very used and lines 3 and 7 were extented from the terminus of the 3 bis for the line three and an other branch was created for the line 7. So they decided to create line 3 bis and 7 bis because a branch would be useless
Bis is latin for "second" (approximate traduction). There are already lines 3 and 7, so these are lines 3bis and 7bis. Ter is latin for "third". Both bis, ter, quater (fourth), etc are used for lines, buildings, etc when there is already one of the same name.

The Line 4 sounds amazing
Anyone else noticing the gradual desync?
Yeah, slightly annoying...
Wish those rubber tires were on all the lines(they really should’ve converted line 13).
Nahhhh. I remember them as a kid. It smells during summer heat waves. Badly. Prefer the metal noise over the smell of hot rubber.

What is line 3bis and 7bis?
+Martin Pintamalli They are very small, but separate, metro lines away from the main tourist hotspots.
voxley19 But why they still have for example line "3" if it is another route, and what does bis mean? Btw thanks for the explenation;)
