@@mlezine The pop and rap music of todays mainstream charts is even more trite and unapoletically "borrowed" from its genre predecessors. This band, this song, this sound might not be new, but its real quality and sounds fresh within the cookie-cutter soundscape of modern music.

I want to see this band live, this looks like such a fun show ! I wish I could go to a Glastonbury.. You guys over there do festivals way better than we do here in the U.S.
They originally posted this with even worse sound mixing. Suspect this is the best they could do with what they have. Big part of the problem is it's mostly taken from the sound desk so it just has no ambience, no real crowd noise (e.g. when Grian said hello there was a big roar from the crowd but that's not there here so it just sounds dead), no real sense of space. I was there dead centre halfway between sound desk and stage and it sounded great. The whole gig felt electric and the crowd were totally in love with them.
Such a great band, cant wait for the new album!
Big problem with capturing live music is that the sound deck is the go to for recordings. Fontaines’ live shows are made with the crowd atmosphere too!
Yeah, you can see in the clapping shots the mics are picking up none of it. A shame because visually it looks like it was a great crowd.

Hey they don’t pull the recordings from the FOH desk, they usually have a truck that houses a broadcast mixer and that’s what we hear at home.
I was there too, right between stage and sound desk stage left. Thought the sound mix was terrible. Felt sorry for the lads cause they gave it socks and the crowd were mad for it. You could see Grian was struggling to hear himself in his earpieces. Somebody fcked up. Compare this to the mix from their previous Glasto performances. Way off.
I needd this fricking album! Next month willl be the best!

It’s the recording from the park stage. They got the levels all wrong. It was great live. The idles set sounds just as good in the I player but the Fontaines one sounds totally different to the live sound unfortunately.
