Back pockets are basically just decorative; you can't put your phone in them unless you want to either want to lose it or crush it while sitting. And many of us don't wear jackets (because it's too hot) or carry bags (because it's considered too effeminate). So that only leaves front pockets.

I also do it for personal safety reasons....if it's in my front pocket, I know it can't get stolen or lost or crushed like you said.

Ashley is good at what she does. Take her advice or leave it. I agree with much of her recommendations, but a few, like some here, i leave. In the end, it is her viewpoint and her recommendations apply to individuals that respect her tastes.

The idea of keeping a wallet or phone in these days in the front pocket is avoid getting it picked. Clearly as a woman, you would not know this, but that was bad advise haha

From a functional standpoint, yes it is bad advice. Aesthetically it is solid advice.

Keep your phone in your back pocket is not great advise. Its all good being a sylish person.... but getting your phone easily pickpocketed shouldn't be a option

Agreed. Front pocket for me if there’s enough room. My phone is bigger than my wallet so if the phone is uncomfortable for me then it goes in an inner coat pocket.

Love your advice but sometimes I am not sure the difference between common sense & style and money involved. Where can you go to get a hem for $5.00!! In NYC lucky if $12.00 if not higher. Moreover, no wallet or phone in your front pocket in NYC means no phone or wallet. Use a slim wallet but back pocket on the subway?? Or walking the crowded streets in Midtown during lunch!

So, basically, pockets are useless? What's the point of having pockets if you're not going to use them? Back pockets are not convenient, especially with certain clothes as it leaves you vulnerable to pickpockets.

Hi Ashley. I've been watching your videos ever since the start of the pandemic. I found out that over time, putting your wallet in your back pocket may lead to either spine, neck, or back problems. What alternative can we do if we are not using any jackets? 🙂

Not using your front pockets, this is some real bullshit. It’s the best pockets for your wallet and phone. Full untuck is the only thing that works for me, any level of partial tuck always gets undone by itself. The pettiness of how shoes are tied is ridiculous. The authentic clothing choices tip should be the only thing repeated every video.

I might consider carrying a folding knife for self protection, but I've otherwise never needed a knife when out and about. Even at home, I'll only use my tiny Swiss army knife to open packages, and that's it.

    • @gentsensecalebsmith7292

@@accurtis2763 were you never in boy scouts? Always BE PREPARED I use it for opening packages at work, cutting loose threads and tags off clothes, whittling twigs for kindling, anything and everything I could possibly need to cut. Plus it never hurts to be prepared if you're ever caught in an emergency situation, E.G. a car accident, and you need to quickly cut your seatbelt. Also yes, as @OC-CPA points out, for self defense. Plus when folded, most knives have a ridged spine, which comes in handy when opening jars. I could go on and on 😂
