Yeah, I don't get how a Maverick XLT hybrid gets close to $35,000. Hybrid is the base engine, no AWD, and Ben's example didn't seem to have a lot of options.
Wild how prices went up. For a 22 hybrid xlt, paid 24.7 OTD with 4% off sticker (chapman ford promo), financed at 0% APR .... driving this truck forever 😅
Honestly mid to high $20k I can bite ... but mid to high $30k there are other options so be neat to see a low option taco or frontier SV ... hell if ya find a gladiator sport model it be interesting as well ...
The only reason 35 grand sounds "affordable" is because most other new cars are being priced way above what they are actually worth. Im not paying 35 grand for a 25 grand vehicle. Just won't happen. However, once again, because we have people in our society that will overpay ,this silliness continues! Smh....
You have 0 idea what you're talking about lol This is the best vehicle ford had produced in years and is well worth the money. You're the same type of person who will spend 50k on a MOPAR and wonder why its in the shop longer than its in your garage/driveway lol
They aren't everywhere. Just gotta know where to look. I bought a brand new lariat for under msrp 2024 but i live in VA and my dealer doesnt charge over sticker (unless they add a cover/bedliner if it doesnt come equipped)
I love the standard Navy Pier interior color. Blue is my favorite color in general and I'm so sick of a drab black or gray interior. I noticed the price has jumped up thousands of dollars since the Maverick came out, which is disappointing. A modestly equipped XLT Hybrid with an optional spare tire, tow hitch, and a bed liner is now over $30k. That's about $4,000 more than when the Maverick first came out. Yikes.
Can't wait for the Tremor review Ben! That's the one I have my eyes on but I'll wait for your review in comparing the Tremor to all the other Maverick models you've driven. I think the comparison to the SantaCruz is a good comparison since the Honda Ridgeline is a bigger truck.
The Maverick hybrid is still a good thing, but I wonder how it will compete once Toyota brings the Stout to the US. I think Ford will have to iron out their supply chain issues otherwise Toyota may be taking away sales.
I agree I can't wait to see what Toyota brings with the Stout. Toyota's dependability hopefully with a little extra hybrid power and good fuel economy.
We are not likely to see a model below the Tacoma from Toyota in the USA. They are making too much money from the Tacoma to cannibalize their own dominant market share. The Tacoma outsells other midsize trucks by at least 3:1@@quitoduck
If you are going to compare the Maverick to another vehicle, I think you should limit your choices to options in the same price range. A Ridgeline is way more expensive than a Maverick, so I think that should not be an option. In my real life, when I thought I might not be able to get my Maverick and I was test driving alternatives, I had picked the Mazda CX5.
If they put a similar interior to the Bronco sport in here it would be a winner. The dash and door panels are just so cheap feeling in the maverick, plus no push to start.
I would love to see a 2024 maverick lariat vs 2019+ ridgeline (Rtl-e or black edition) vs 2024 ford ranger comparison. Once you have push to start, you can’t go back. I never go off roading, tow about 1% of the time. Need at small truck for hauling riding mower, furniture, mulch etc. I am all about mpg over how fast it is. It just has to do the job. Want it as a daily driver
Blackout package interior looks more plain than my XLT's. The white door and dash panels and orange accents give it a bit of color. Also don't like the all black wheels. Unless you keep the tires constantly shined, the blacked out wheels make the tires look grey. With the Charcoal wheels you don't get that effect.
I like the interior of the Black Appearance Package Mavericks! It gets rid of that goofy orange trim. Not sure how much the Co-pilot 360 adds ... w/o the assist (steering help) that is only available on the Lariat.
Ordered this same vehicle (lariet only difference), on 7/18/23. Hope to get it by 7/18/24 :( First time I really saw one in Azure with the black out pkg. Very happy with my choice!!
Crazy how if you build this exact model on their website, cost is under 30k... That's why I don't buy from Ford dealerships. The mark ups are always insane.
YES, it is. Lots of people point to the Sandy Cruz & proclaim ' Look! Its just as good! Maybe better'. No it is not even as good. BECAUSE, the SCRZ has no HEV option. The SCRZ cost more. The scrz has a smaller bed. Hyundai know it too as they are redesigning the SCRZ to compete better w the Mav. SCRZ sales are WAY less than the Mav.The scrz missed the mark. !

They need to bring back cactus 🌵 grey!!! And the black appearance package for 25 is just silly I don’t want a black roof or black stickers on my hood I live in Florida my cars hot enough already
@davidmatson6796 yes I know I did the search - but it's highly misleading. When you average the high end vehicles that Americans like to buy like those big suv's and pick ups that cost a small fortune and get terrible gas mileage -that's how u get those high #s. In a practical sense unless u need it for work or are hauling heavy shit u don't need those 70,000 trucks. I'm curious how common that issue is, and as far as repairs go, how serious it is.
Yes the turbo AWD is like a little rally tuck. I posted a video today showing it only cost $10 more per tank for the AWD's capability and passing power. I own both versions and the AWD is way more fun.
