The real question is why did they show a succulent box with plastic plants and not the real ones? If you watch closely the picture they used at the beginning and end of the video shows a succulent box with fake plants. They make you think that the little DIY they did works but it doesn’t. You need to use moss not dirt. The dirt will just fall out.
@@quintper3059 @6:32 When "30 minutes later" sign showed. What I noticed and I thought I missed something. When she has attached the mesh it is clearly visible with the edges and staples. In the next chapter where she places all the succulents the box is suddenly framed and the mesh with staples is not visible. I mean this could be a good video but skipping parts or whatever where it looks different in the next shot without any explanation makes the video somewhat fake, imo. Although I have seen a few video with this type of mesh and regular soil or a soil mix so that won't be an issue I think since you have to leave the plant horizontal for a week or more to let them set in the soil. From my understanding when the plants have rooted a bit the soil will be kept in place in the end but if you directly flip it vertical the soil and plants will probably fall out.
I did this project before its was challenging but you can actually use soil but you cant hang them yet until the plants are well rooted like a month so the plants wont fall.
Anyone reading this. PLEASE DON’T TRY THIS! The dirt will fall out since there is no drainage. A better alternative is using moss instead of dirt. They also tricked you into thinking that the succulent box they showed has real plants. Watch closely and you will notice that it has plastic plants.
Plastic with no drainage for succulents?! Death box for the plants… esp those 3/4 weeks lying flat. And she didn’t waterproof/coat the frame. Sun and rain will destroy that in a year.
I love the way she dresses!
Thanks for the inspiration! We made one for an outdoor wall in an old drawer. Looks beautiful.
Why didnt you add the poting mix before adding the wire?
I asked myself the same question.

Will it ruin the fence in the back when u water it??
Yes! The water and dirt will leak out staining the wall. They forgot to add drainage. A better alternative is using moss.
Can you tell me if any of your succulents died? This way
Of course they died. Please don’t try this method.
