You start with a korra reference and transitioned into Monty Python, I will give it a silver star, but only because I love the Killer Rabbit of Caerbannog.
Josh Scorcher: A man whose heart burns bright, lets things wind him up, is very down-to-earth, is fiery and hot-headed when it comes to puns. So water you waiting for? Give him a watch! (Captain Planet!) But seriously, he is a great RUclipsr to pass along the hours watching him. I love how he has a severe love-hate relationship with great and terrible puns!
THERE SHE BLOWS jokes aside. I'm guessing some MegaMan enemies will be here as I did like thier style of fighting. Not sure if dragons count as wind bosses but yeah that would be cool. Genshin has a wind dragon which is so much fun t fight. Tales of xillia wingul is a fun wind boss fight and his same sorta has wind in it. Kingdom hearts will probably be here and we will see xioling in the list with all his wind styles. Pokemon I wonder if the legendary Pokemon battles count as they do have a lot of flying types.
Undeniably. Personally, my money's on Meta Ridley via the original Metroid Prime (regardless of where he's placed, I still want HIM to make the cut). I'll give Josh bonus points if he can include a penultimate "Mario" franchise boss (RoboBrood via Mario Odyssey, Dark Fawful via Bowser's Inside Story, or even Helen Gravely via Luigi's Mansion 3 for example)
Von Twirlenkiller is obviously a solid choice for this. He has freaking wind turbines for arms and can produce tornadoes to attack you! Man I wish he was playable in Anarchy Reigns! If they could bring Black Baron back why not someone like him?
Funny how when Josh jumps up off the couch at the end, you can still see him reflected in the RUclips award hanging on the wall. Not sure if that was intentional or not, but still a pretty clever way to keep him on-screen while not directly in front of the camera.
That version of Garuda was so good that she made an appearance in FFXV as an optional boss to get a wind themed summon. Too bad summons in XV were pretty much pointless but she was useful for level grinding.
It was, and 14 got an event (sadly temporary) that featured a more 15-esque Garuda fight. Complete with the Warp-strike as a Duty Action. That said, the fact that she made it to 15 is worth mentioning even still. It's kind of interesting that this specific character was the one who made the jump over to XV over any of the other options. Granted, they already had versions of five primals out of a total of nine from ARR content (counting both of the ones from the Binding Coils AND GKMM), so the options were a bit limited, but even so.
Honestly, I don’t think twisters are depicted well enough in gaming. There’s a lot more to a tornado that just the swirling by vortex, such as rain that can wrap around the cyclone and hide it, hail that can dent and ruin metal, and in the case of the largest monsters, size and power that makes it hard to figure out *where* it is. The most fun usage in my opinion is Just Cause 4, where you can use giant wind cannons to actually push tornadoes around.
Your opening about how few good wind bosses there were made me think "I know he's at least aware of FFXIV, and I think he's played it... does he know?" And I was not disappointed.
13:03 I can fully understand why you feel that way. (P.S. If anyone is wondering, the thing Lunastra embodies in-universe is, like Teostra, a Raging inferno, as they're of the same species. Lunastra is the female side of the species while Teostra is the male) Addition: Primal Garuda taking the top spot wasn't what I expected, but yeah, the only thing she does in all of her battles that doesn't somehow involve wind is her clones, and even then those close also can attack with the wind themselves. Plus, if you don't take out Chirada and Suparna, they enhance Arial blast, allowing it to wipe the party (Which is MMO speak for everyone in the party dying). I don't know what exactly I can say about her Eden version that isn't a spoiler, but I can say is that her wind powers there actually mix well with Ifrit's fire, and she still has all of her attacks involve wind in some way.
fun fact about Garuda, once upon a time, when ARR was new and fresh, she was considered the HARDEST STORY FIGHT in the game, this has naturally changed with job changes, new jobs being added, damage recalculations etc, but yeah, the Lady of the Vortex was once a pretty tough story battle. and now i feel old cos that was nearly 8 years ago lol

Honestly was expecting a reference to everyone's favorite tornado spamming quarter stealing SNK Boss Syndrome victim, Goenitz. The "Koko desu ka?" never fails. Even when playing as him. But still, some of those bosses listed are some of my favorites design-wise (like Von Twirlenkiller).
Kudos for mentioning Astral Chain, Xaldin of Kingdom Hearts and among other great picks, man! By the way, here's my honorable mention: Agni and Rudra from Devil May Cry 3 Dante's Awakening. They're sorta like the annoying comedic relieves such as Cornwall and Devon from the dreaded Quest For Camelot, but after defeating them Dante shuts the twins up after they turned into dual machetes! The best option to defeating them is targeting one of the other, then halving their HP and heading straight onto the kill! Otherwise Agni and Rudra will cut you down to size(no pun intended). So yeah, 'NO TALKING!' from now on.
Kinda disappointed to not see Dvalin from Genshin Impact on here. You literally fly through the air, shooting glowing air balls at him, using special wind currents to propel you forward, for the first half of the battle and then fight him in a whirlwind that breaks the stage (which is being lifted up into the air by said whirlwind) that you're standing on while you fight him while also applying wind damage. Plus, to get from a broken stage to a whole stage, you gotta fly over to the new one. Also, the first time you fight him in the story quest, you have the Archon of the Air, Barbatos, or Venti as he's known, as a trial character for you to use, so you can use Venti's wind attacks against Dvalin and have a truly aerial battle. The Traveler also has just the air element to fight with as well.
Hey fellow Genshin player here, ya lets not have the boss that takes a minute per attack animation on the list, fun factor is at play here and while I don't know if Josh has played Genshin impact... out of all of the Genshin bosses that could show up Dvalin would be the second to last I would want to appear based on how not fun it is to fight him. (the first being the almighty frog dragon... why do Genshin bosses based on dragon's fall flat) Don't get me wrong the flavor is spot on, it's just that the boss fight has to be well designed to get on the list and for Dvalin that unfortunately falls flat. It kinda sucks too because after him is what at least I considered the best boss in the game and his fight just kinda puts a sour note on those who decided to grind to the adventure rank needed to get that far... which in itself I could see as why Josh wouldn't put the boss on here but that's more a gripe about the game then the boss itself.
Respect for talking about Astral Chain. I enjoyed it but I don't really hear people talk about it. Guess it just fell through the cracks compared to Platinum's other heavy hitters.
I absolutely loved Von Twirlenkiller. Just an absolutely badass boss that uses the wind and his surroundings perfectly to his advantage. Also, as a minor spoiler, his finisher is brutal.
#2: Xaldin I remember my first fight with this guy. I think I tagged out with King Mickey about three times before he finally took me down. At which point I grinded for ten levels and never needed to be rescued by Mickey again. Also, why wasn't there a reference to the song "I can't defeat Air Man"?
Von Twirlenkiller in third? Alright that's good enough for me... Also did I mention his theme song is a absolute BANG! Also also, Garuda can BURN TO THE GROUND!!!
Ah Avatar LOK a show that had 90% of it's main villains die grusome and morbit deaths, yet it couldnt have it's characters say words like "death", "die" or "kill" nor show to women sharring a kiss on screen. How the hell these things work network wise I will never understand

Talking about these bosses will be a BREEZE... I'm not sorry. Anyways, here's my thoughts: 10: Man, the Blight Ganons look so cool. Ganen? Gani? Whatever the plural for Ganon would be. 9: Flying-Type is really an underrated type in Pokemon. Game Freak doesn't make it any better, because HOW MANY MORE BIRDS DO WE NEED? I mean, c'mon, I'd be fine with some cloud Pokemon. 8: Good to see someone finally talking about this game, since I just started to get into it. 7: I agree. Eating babies is not cool. 6: Sometimes, a redesign is just the best thing for a character. And I gotta admit, he looks SICK now. 5: This one looks kinda derpy. I want one. 4: Wind and metallic usually aren't something you see put together, but this is still one sick design for a monster. 3: And I thought this guy couldn't get any weirder. 2: What element from Kingdom Hearts has Josh NOT covered yet? ...Seriously, I want to know. 1: I REALLY need to play this game.
Windblight Ganon had another thing going against it: You can go into this battle armed with a 5-shot Savage Lynel Bow and Bomb Arrows and turn him into an absolute *_joke._* I think my best run against him, not counting cutscenes, was about...18 seconds or so? Literally float up, draw bow, fire a crapload of bombs into his face, go into phase 2, repeat, dead.
The true reason why Emporio isn't playable in ASB and EoH. Actually, coming to think of it, there are quite a lot of air/wind/breath antagonists in the series; there are two evil Hamon users, Wammu and his Divine Sandstorm, Enyaba's Stand is technically about wind, Johngalli A. with Manhattan Transfer, Doobie Wah!... Missed anyone?
Did you know there's a hidden duo boss fight in Astral Chain that does the... Okay, I'm not gonna spoil it for you. The bosses are Astreus and Capaneus. But the thing they do partway through the fight involves a trope I know for sure you enjoy. If you want to know where you can find them, they can be found on a rooftop off the beaten path during the storm in the Zone-09 segment.
I've got a bit of a funny story about Skyla. In my first run-through of White(which was also my first pokemon game overall). I got lost for a while on the way to Mistralton and since I didn't ever bother using repels back then my team kind of got overleveled and I swept the whole gym with an Excadrill of all things.
I’m calling it now, Winona from Pokemon gen 3 is going to be on this list. (But I personally think it should be Lance from gen 2. He might say he’s a dragon specialist, but he only has three dragons and his entire team are all flying types.)
Actually, Josh has made it very clear that gen 3 is his favorite, so I’m honestly surprised that he picked Skyla (especially considering Skyla isn’t very difficult and Winona is infamous for sweeping teams with her Altaria)

Wind bosses deserved a list because they leave you feeling pretty winded afterwards.
Glad you included Xaldin on this list, though disappointed you didn't mention the part where he gets his slice of humble pie when Belle gets involved.
17:14 Fun fact they considered him True Orgization XIII but had too many story important characters to fit him in
Kinda disappointed to not see Dvalin from Genshin Impact on here.
(the first being the almighty frog dragon... why do Genshin bosses based on dragon's fall flat)
Don't get me wrong the flavor is spot on, it's just that the boss fight has to be well designed to get on the list and for Dvalin that unfortunately falls flat. It kinda sucks too because after him is what at least I considered the best boss in the game and his fight just kinda puts a sour note on those who decided to grind to the adventure rank needed to get that far... which in itself I could see as why Josh wouldn't put the boss on here but that's more a gripe about the game then the boss itself.
the use of that holy grail clip at the start was genius
Josh needs to make a Top 10 Take-Two Fails list. And now is the perfect time!
Hey, remember nominating Windblight and Propeller Knight when you asked for candidates for this list on Twitter. Neat.
#2: Xaldin
I remember my first fight with this guy. I think I tagged out with King Mickey about three times before he finally took me down. At which point I grinded for ten levels and never needed to be rescued by Mickey again.
Also, why wasn't there a reference to the song "I can't defeat Air Man"?
"Everyone getting their ass kicked by Jack raise your hand. Oh wait he can't."
Don't underestimate the power of Wind
My immediate thought when I saw this list was Garuda. Glad to see FFXIV getting some love.
I *knew* that _Legend of Korra_ clip was gonna pop up.
…Was not expecting King Arthur’s “JESUS CHRIST!” in response, though. 🤣🤣🤣
These puns! They’re making me roll like a barrel!
as someone who moved from WoW to FFXIV I am happy to see this version of Garuda (Our Lady of the Vortex) make this list
Von Twirlenkiller in third? Alright that's good enough for me... Also did I mention his theme song is a absolute BANG!
Also also, Garuda can BURN TO THE GROUND!!!
Josh talked about the Ys series on his channel. This does put a smile on my face.
Ah Avatar LOK a show that had 90% of it's main villains die grusome and morbit deaths, yet it couldnt have it's characters say words like "death", "die" or "kill" nor show to women sharring a kiss on screen. How the hell these things work network wise I will never understand
A certain person mentioning Xaldin: SIX FREAKING LANCES!!!!
I like what they did to kush in rise. Instead of being like a highschool bully, mostly just shoving you around, he just straight up fucking *KILLS YOU.*
I may have been far too gleeful when FFXIV version of Garuda is the one you picked. I love her music too. I'm SO GLAD that XIV's debut on your lists has HER and her taking the top spot.
Talking about these bosses will be a BREEZE... I'm not sorry. Anyways, here's my thoughts:
10: Man, the Blight Ganons look so cool. Ganen?
So what you're telling us, is all these puns tend to take the wind out of your sails.
Windblight Ganon had another thing going against it:
You can go into this battle armed with a 5-shot Savage Lynel Bow and Bomb Arrows and turn him into an absolute *_joke._* I think my best run against him, not counting cutscenes, was about...18 seconds or so? Literally float up, draw bow, fire a crapload of bombs into his face, go into phase 2, repeat, dead.
Extra points for using the youtube plaque's reflection in the background. Just perfectly positioned over that for that final line. LOL.
in the end you can see him in the reflection just standing there
Man all these puns really took the wind out of my sails.
I like that Kushala Diaora made it onto the list, he may be a pain in the ass, but he does embody the power of wind.
I hope this list will “blow” me away!
*I’m not sorry for that joke.*
I’m waiting for him to make the same one
"It isn't THAT the wind is blowing. It's WHAT the wind is blowing."
"apparently the very substance you breathe can be weaponized in the wrong hands"
People who've read JoJo part 6: You're telling me
The true reason why Emporio isn't playable in ASB and EoH.
"It's not THAT the wind is blowing, it's WHAT the wind is blowing". ~Ron White
Ah yes, my personal favorite affinity in turns of elements...
And now it feeds the fire
Wind puns are at this point pretty natural in sentences involving Wind/Air Attributes.
That one wind angel from Beyonetta, Temperantia I think. You fight it inside a giant tornado.
I guess you could say this list really *blew* me away.
I’m sure some of the characters from Green Scorpion’s Aeromancers list will be here
I've got a bit of a funny story about Skyla. In my first run-through of White(which was also my first pokemon game overall). I got lost for a while on the way to Mistralton and since I didn't ever bother using repels back then my team kind of got overleveled and I swept the whole gym with an Excadrill of all things.
When's Top 10 Instrumental Bosses, the foes that battle with instruments
If he does that, Demyx is bound to be there
@@Ori_Kohav Dance water dance
*notices the wind puns*
"Well, blow me down!"
I’m calling it now, Winona from Pokemon gen 3 is going to be on this list.
(But I personally think it should be Lance from gen 2. He might say he’s a dragon specialist, but he only has three dragons and his entire team are all flying types.)
Winona is flat, Skyla however…
I promise that was unintentional.
You were wrong. It was Skyla from Gen 5
The Mental Saga Joshscorcher only cares about Gen 5 & 8 Pokemon unfortunately.
He doesn't really put much respect for the other generations
Actually, Josh has made it very clear that gen 3 is his favorite, so I’m honestly surprised that he picked Skyla (especially considering Skyla isn’t very difficult and Winona is infamous for sweeping teams with her Altaria)
@@thedarknessmagician5234 again, he doesn't put effort/recognition for Gym Leaders or anything that's Not Gen 5 or 8 related.
Unfortunately the Earth bosses are next, so expect Clay or that Dragon leader(gen ate) from those gyms unfortunately.
The only exception(I think idk if its from this list or not) is Red for Gen 2 for secret or super bosses.
I don't suppose the next countdown's going to be semi-final bosses, right?
