The keyboard was malfunctioning in the old Palmrest, so I replaced the assembly in this HP 14-DK0002DX laptop due to the keyboard being part of that piece (riveted in).
The palm rest cost me about $28. I also needed a base enclosure.... I spent about 12 hours watching another video on this account.Then I switched to my other account it took me to this one immediately. It's not an easy feat and you gotta own it if you muck it up. But if you've got more time than money and up for a challenge on a rainy day it's worth it. 😅
The CMOS battery is most likely on the underside of the motherboard. The side next to the keyboard/palm rest. They like to make you work to find stuff.
