HP 14-ck - Failed Hinge Mounting Repair - Keyboard, Palmrest and Touchpad replacement

A guide for repairing a failed HP 14-ck hinge mounting point by replacing the Keyboard, Palmrest and Touchpad assembly.
This requires fully disassembling the laptop, and needs a Philips 00 screwdriver and a plastic pry tool.

Hello, I know this is a stupid question to ask but I just want to confirm if the cause of a failed hinge mounting is the repeated opening and closing of the laptop?

Its a failure of the plastic around the metal inserts in the palmrest - it can be fatigued due to the repeated opening and closing of the laptop, or often it can be down to the laptop being knocked or dropped, lid forced open beyond its maximum, etc.

Thanks for this but important to say that my loose hinge was totally fixed by just screwing obviously loose screws back in. I appreciate this is a replacement demo but guessing some failure is similar to my issue. Damian
