Friends with very big money will determine the course of Pow. The small lodges, slow lifts, having to walk uphill any where may be things a billionaire or their partner may not like. Does Pow need a sushi chef or home made pasta on the mountain? The difficult road access keeps it simple, which is part of its beautiful character. Trying to make a deer valley on top of Pow is logistically, economically, and environmentally unsound. Doesn’t mean it won't happen. Watching a heli drop passengers on top of village lift and a car waiting for them tells me whats in store up at the new village. Well, the new owner(s) will make their choices. Does it really matter that most of the skiers like the old ways? Will Pow have to make more money with more riders (raise the 1500 per day limit), more expensive tickets and passes? Change is inevitable. Pow is an amazing place to ski. And the worst things that could happen are too many skiers/riders, becoming too expensive and trying to monetize everything like the ikon.epic do (parking, reservations, fast pass and owner lift lanes at the lifts, etc). Hopefully, big fancy money will prefer deer valley/mayflower and the Park City restaurant scene. Pow is an anomoly in ski resorts: Not monetized enough, (=not crowded enough), old school in some ways, and more difficult to reach. And that's what makes it Pow.

Raintree is only currently accessible by hiking or cat... no real loss. Marys is low angle most dont really utilize it... but its good for teaching powder technique, so not a huge loss but still sucks... the installation of new lifts will drive more attendance an likely cause the loss of the traditional vibe and ability to ski fresh for days after a storm.. i bought my pass for next year yesterday... a lot remains to be seen

So are we going to lose access to all of Cobabe Canyon, or just not allowed on the panned lift to be built there?
