Hi Bella! You are not alone on the passing out! I tend to pass out for anything related to needles... I haven't had my blood drawn yet (ever, weirdly) but I'm pretty sure I will pass out when it happens :( . Dreading it!! One time I passed out on the side walk after having my ears pierced so, you know! Your own home sounds great!

Hi Bella I just got my blood taken yesterday and almost passed out. I had to get it taken twice and the second nurse told me to lay down with my feet elevated so the blood would go to my head so I wouldn’t pass out. I would suggest that because it helped so much! I am praying for you both and for your fertility! I’ve been learning to trust God’s timing, He always has a better plan ❤️

Hey Bella I also absolutely hate anything needle related it just makes me panic which then makes me pass out , the best thing that helped me is taking nice slow deep breaths because I’ve found that when I have an injection I start breathing really fast which then makes me feel extremely dizzy so controlling my breathing has been the biggest help , you are incredible ❤️
I hate getting my blood drawn too! There's something about needles that I can't stand!!

I got blood drawn when I donated it in high school. Afterwards, drink lots of water and eat some protein and a lot of food. Also, it'll help if you have like a stress ball to keep in the arm your getting your blood drawn. That way you have something to hold on to. I love you guys and hope you get the family you want

Bella, im with you. The last time I got my blood work done , I throw up and then passed out. Thank God you can get it done at home!
i always put on my fav song while im getting my blood drawn! usually i put on a super hype song with lyrics that i have memorized so while they are drawing the blood instead of focusing on that im focusing on the lyrics instead of everything else since your brain can only think of one thing at once. make a “getting my blood drawn” playlist if you have to have enough songs to last through the before/during/after anxiety. love you so much!

Can we just take a minute to appreciate Bella??! She hates having blood tests and yet keeps doing them, so hopefully one day she can bring a new life into this world! I find doing breathing patterns good sometimes (I have a lot of injections) like one long in hold then one long out. Or singing a fast song and seeing if you can race the blood test lady (get to the end of the song before it’s done). The next ones hard, but try relaxing your muscles as much as you can, it’ll make it less painful (slightly) I hope this helps :)

I get vasovagal reactions from needles/bloodwork too! These are things that have helped me :) I focus on my breathing (box breathing is great for this!!), I clench and unclench my fists, I lie down completely and stay lying down for quite a bit after. I find some sips of water/juice/ginger ale helps afterwards too!

As a phleb I recommend if it is the pain itself that freaks you out then get a buzzer bee. It’s a vibration device that can distract your nerves while you get your blood drawn which helps for a lot of patients who have anxiety about the procedure. Eating a balanced and nutrient dense meal before your appointment is super great too so good job your literally crushing it. If you do pass out elevate your legs, and a cold compress to your chest can help you feel better faster. Last thing, don’t talk about passing out before your appointment, I know it sounds weird but most people will talk about it and psych themselves into doing it. You got this though and I wish you all the best in this journey, you are so strong. Keep crushing it girl!❤️
It’s wonderful to hear that your test results have been encouraging. I will continue to keep you in my thoughts and prayers.
As for the blood drawing, I use meditation to help me get through medical procedures and stress. It took years of practice but now I can even reduce pain without the use of drugs. I was even able to reduce my heart rate by half when I was in the hospital. It freaked the nurses out. They were both impressed and upset with me.

I’ve struggled with this my whole life too the best thing for me is to make sure you eat before.. do it laying down and don’t look at the blood or anything until it’s done and lay there for a little bit after the blood draw… keep a conversation going so that you don’t have time to think about it!🖤

What I do when i need blood drawn is I hold this little warmer like a hot pocket on my arm. I have hard to find veins and it makes it so much easier. I was told to really hydrate too.

I’m a CNA Nurse, and the best things to do before you get your blood drawn, is drink lots and lots of water!! Water is key! It will keep you hydrated and help your blood flow easier! Also heat on the designated area, help your veins to be more lateral(closer to your skin)!

Hey Dallin and Bella!! Still praying for you all the time in hopes you’ll be blessed with a baby soon! My fiancé and I are learning about Natural Family Planning, and one thing that was mentioned in that class is if there’s a lot of light in your bedroom, that can have an effect on fertility! I know it sounds crazy, but it might be worth examining your own room to see if it’s too bright from nightlights, alarm clocks, windows, etc. they say if you can see furniture in your bedroom at night, it’s too bright. Maybe it’ll help! Thinking of you! ♥️

It's so cool you got your blood drawn at home. I wish I could everyone has a hard time drawing my blood. I have to either go twice and they poke me at least 4 times each time to get my blood. Prayers to you and Dallin for good bloodwork results.

Make sure to eat some salty foods before. Salt increases your blood pressure so it can hopefully mitigate the drop in blood pressure that can lead you to faint. You got this girl!!!! xo
