  • Capsize recovery practice in the Earl Craig, a Sooty Tern sailboat. I trailered the EC to northern Wisconsin for a week of sailing along with family reunion and decided to see what a capsize and subsequent recovery was like.

    Great video. Very helpful. Was there any added ballast in the hull during this test?

      Yes. I installed four 25 lb lead pigs adjacent (bolted to garboards) to the centerboard trunk during the build.

      Do the lead pigs assist with recovery, do you have any pics of them installed,Thank you

      @@johnhaughey5347I’m sure they would help right the boat since they are located in the bottom of the floors.
