This was another great listen that I resonated with. Recently, my five year old daughter saw what I was working on and said, "you're like a real artist" and my initial reaction was to correct her and say something like, "oh, no, I'm not, not really." But I owned it instead and we talked about what it meant to be an artist. It was both a teaching lesson for her and myself. Even having had the technical educational training (B.A. in Studio Art) I question my legitimacy as an artist and what that means. In college I never anticipated having a career in Art, it was just what I liked to study the most. Fast forward ten years and I feel like I just don't have the time for so much self-doubt, so instead I'm working on confidentiality owning "Artist".
