Early versions of the Getaway have a mission with an unlicensed British Telecommunications vehicle that was removed from later versions of the game 👍worth looking out for a copy.
MetalJesusRocks You mean The Beast from 20,000 Fathoms? Ray Harryhausen’s stop-motion masterpiece. War of the Monsters is like a licensed game without being based on anything!!!
I remember playing The Getaway and my dad being a Londoner would stand over my shoulder directing me around town and shouting out shortcuts that were actually there! Amazing!
I see the PS2 as the culmination of the lessons learned during an entire decade of gaming. Nintendo quality (SNES) + SEGA attitude (MEGA-DRIVE) + Playstation 1 maturity + Arcade fun = PLAYSTATION 2 Best console ever!!!!
Bruno Silva totally totally agree mate, my all time fave system, mainly because it plays PS1 and PS2 games! Mine has the Matrix silicone chip mod to play all region PS1, PS2 games and DVDs!!! What a system. Teamed up with wireless remote- awww man magnificent
Dude on the very last level I figured out if you are badly wounded just lean against any wall and you will recover your health.... That knowledge would have made the game much easier.
Me and my brother use to have the most intense battles on Guilty Gear x 2. I played Eddie, and he played Chip Zanif. Good times. Best fighting game in my opinion.
I'd love to see a part 2. The PS2 was such a fantastic system. Also, I'm pretty sure all Katamari games are actually exclusive to one console. Beautiful Katamari was exclusive to 360, Katamari Forever was exclusive to PS3, etc.
The thing that I like and what separates you from the other gaming channels is you showing gameplay footage with almost all of your games. Also your personality is just always great to watch as it comes out. Love your vids Metal Jesus! Always have me wanting more
I love the ps2 metal jebus I still play mine every week because games now a days do not hold up it’s all about online and rarely story driven back in the ps2 days online wasn’t common yes we did have online games on the ps2 but most people didn’t have access to the internet we all had to depend on the story to keep us addicted
This game is so great! It's usually pretty cheap, and you can play through the whole thing in an hour or two. So it's a great pickup for a quick, cheap action packed gaming session!
damn, how do you got to like that game?, its really frustrating for me, changed the whole 2d platforming to top down bullethell shooting where you can't see where the bullets are coming from, dodge buttons on the sticks that make it totally unpractical, weird bosses desing where some of them have different phases and others just don't, has the most weak and forgetable final boss from the series (even if its as hilarious as a colonel talking dog) and you can end it in half-hour or two, and therer is just normal, hard and time attack/speedrun modes, no replay value for me whatsoever. will pick up the other one on the system better
War of the Monsters is probably my all time favorite PS2 game. I have so many memories of playing this game with my uncle when I was younger. Good times
Nice video MetalJesusRocks. The Sony PlayStation 2 is truly one of the greatest consoles of all time. It's my favorite PlayStation console of all time. :)
TheVideoGamer64 me too pal- fantastic system!! I have the Matrix Infinity modification in my 3000 series, so I can play All region PS1 and PS2 games, and DVDs!! Best system ever, from the last years of a time when games and entertainment was good!! Now= appallingly rubbish
Max Smith Penitentiary97 TheVideoGamer64 me too pal- fantastic system!! I have the Matrix Infinity modification in my 3000 series, so I can play All region PS1 and PS2 games, and DVDs!! Best system ever, from the last years of a time when games and entertainment was good!! Now= appallingly rubbish
@@NeverQuit87 . It wasn't better when Xbox stopped releasing gamed for it and the PS2 still had new titles coming out for it for years though was it? Lol.
This channel has slowly become my favorite. Metal Jesus enthusiast attitude towards unique and off beat games makes me want to try new things. I just started a streaming channel mostly inspired by people like this guy. I just bought a ps2 a nd am about to dig into collecting for the system.
Thank you so very much for mentioning the Xenosaga trilogy. First RPG series I ever played. I pray Namco re-releases it in HD. Then again, I wish they'd finish the series. For those that don't know, Xenosaga was originally a 6-part series.
the PS2, GC, XBOX and DC era was the tits, it didnt matter which console/s you had, there were tons of good games waiting to be discovered. best era of gaming of all time...
Awesome picks, MJ! Love Downhill Domination! It´s, in fact my favorite on the system! And it´s a mountain bike game, not bmx ;) Thanks for this awesome video!
Definitely my number one favorite RUclips channel. Metal Jesus Rocks is very knowledgeable and entertaining. He’s very thorough about what he showcases in his videos and passionate about what he loves.
I went and picked up a few of these on eBay. I needed Xenosaga III to close out my Xenosaga collection but also picked up Mister Mosquito, The Getaway and it's sequel, Airblade, SSX, and The Mark of Kri. Thanks for jogging my memory on these great games!
My favourite PS2 exclusive is hands-down Klonoa 2: Lunatea's Veil, the sequel to the original Klonoa: Door to Phantomile on the PS1. It's a mid-length platformer, clocking in at between 4 and 6 hours if you don't go for 100% collectables and it has some really fun and emotional story moments, a very well balanced level of difficulty, and just amazing graphics every step of the way! :3
front mission 4 and 5...final fantasy x,x2 and 12...suikoden 3 and 5...shadow of the collosus...god of war 1 and 2...dragon quest 8...rogue galaxy..resident evil 4...persona 3... this games will always have a special place in my heart
Hey, you missed Shadow of Rome, one of the best PS2 exclusives. And then there are also Spy Fiction and Extermination, both by Swery65, the guy who did Deadly Premonition. Some other nice exclusive hidden gems are Shinobido, Disaster Report, Raw Danger, Firefighter FD18, Airforce Delta Strike, Echo Night: Beyond, and so on... I believe some of those appear on your other videos about the PS2, anyway. I'm just glad you remembered some really cool games such as RAD and War of the Monsters, and some interesting ones mentioned inbetween the highlights too, like Primal and Ghosthunter. Great video! P.S.: Destruction Derby Arenas is incredibly boring, it doesn't hold a candle to its predecessor, Raw.
MetalJesusRocks, I am surprised you never mentioned the voice commands in Socom, that was the biggest game changer and the reason as to why I loved Socom myself. Keep on rocking though, Bring more Nostalgia my way!
Sam S.I. It was an accident, but he put the blame on the HDMI output thing he was using and gave bad reputation for the guy who makes them, with a clickbaity title warning that it was the culprit. MJR lost my respect right then, even though of course he has great content and a nice and fun crew.
There actually was a rumor recently that the Saga trilogy series might be getting an HD remake for current consoles. We will see BN is announcing some games December 15th.
I only recently went back to play them, but I'd buy and play them again on Switch. Especially since Xenoblade 2 is really heavily drawing from Xenosaga in design and feel. All the Xeno games are easily in my top 30 games of all time; Monolithsoft is just legendary.
Mauro Sanna TheVideoGamer64 me too pal- fantastic system!! I have the Matrix Infinity modification in my 3000 series, so I can play All region PS1 and PS2 games, and DVDs!! Best system ever, from the last years of a time when games and entertainment was good!! Now= appallingly rubbish
Please do part 2. Sony should at least do something to resell them on PSN because the devs/publishers already closed or does not have the rights to them.
The soundtrack to Gungrave was also by the composer for Triguns soundtrack. Tsuneo Imahori. The creator/character designer, and composer also worked together on the Gungrave anime, which is one of my favorites of all time. Such an intensely character driven story amidst all the weird cyber-necromancy and gunplay.
I'm really happy he covered the XenoSaga trilogy. A TRUELY underrated series! Edit: Also, I've been meaning to check out Rogue Galaxy for a while now, but everytime I go to buy it I end up buying something else I've been looking for
Jesus Perez they just added the rest of the mainline jak games and Jax x, but yeah it really need better support. My guess is it probably takes more work, then typically emulated ports, since they have to add trophies
yodagamer1 jak 1-3 is on there?! for how much?! lol I don't mind if they have trophies ir not I just want to play them on there. I don't like going back and forth between my ps4 and ps3 with the same dualshock 4 lol
Glad you listed Champions of Norrath. Such an amazing game. Champions Return to Arms was exclusive too. I just say the "Snowblind Games" when people ask about the best action RPGs.
24 the game almost ruined my bro in laws and my friendship lol So tough. But the last level I beat without dieing even once and with 1 second left like it was the fantastic show!
MetalJesusRocks that game had a sequel that was pretty mediocre in my opinion. The story was interesting but the overall gameplay wasn't as good as the first game.
Love a lot of these games. Xenosaga is one of my favorite RPG series. Also, Mark of Kri and Rise of Kasai are available with trophy support for the PS4 now.
SSX was a launch title over here in Blighty and what a launch title. I was torn between that and Timesplitters on release day (I did pre order) plucked for SSX but TS is great as well. Still play both.
I had a Sony PSP while my friends had a PS2 and we use to talk about games from our gaming consoles the every time back then good times. I love how the original PlayStation 3 was backwards capability with the PlayStation 2 that's how I play PS2 games like Tekken 5, Silent Hill 3 good times. Cool video. ^_^

I have to somewhat disagree with Guilty Gear X2. It was released on Arcade first, however all the extras (Survival, Story, etc...) yes those were added on console.
For PS2 Exclusivity, I would have to go with Gradius V and R-Type Final. These games look like they were in the arcade straight-up. I love schmups all over the place, but always go back to these, like Axelay and UN Squadron for the SNES. Great video!!!
SSX was a system seller for me as well! Sure there were already a ton of snowboarding games, but none looked nearly as great as SSX!!! It had jaw-dropping graphics for its time! The first game I got for my PS2!
Come over to my DISCORD server and let's chat about PS2 Exclusives! discord.gg/WJGfGdM

Ps2.....GREATEST SYSTEM OF ALL TIIIIIIIIIME!!!........in my personal opinion....BECAUSE I'M RIGHT!
I remember playing The Getaway and my dad being a Londoner would stand over my shoulder directing me around town and shouting out shortcuts that were actually there! Amazing!
Now that's fucking great
That’s awesome! That was a tough game.. I don’t think I ever finished it although I put a good amount of time in it.
I loved the getaway I just hated some of the controls
That is so cool
What a great fake story!
I see the PS2 as the culmination of the lessons learned during an entire decade of gaming.

When I played The Getaway, I turned a corner to escape a pursuit and got stuck in a traffic jam. They replicated London perfectly in that game.
HAHA
Dude on the very last level I figured out if you are badly wounded just lean against any wall and you will recover your health.... That knowledge would have made the game much easier.
Joe Vampire oh man, don’t get me started on that. It wasn’t exactly made clear and although I knew about it I kept forgetting!
Joe Vampire same thing happened to me dude haha
lol it was a huge pain to get away

Champions Of Norrath, and specifically its sequal Champions Return To Arms, are my favorite PS2 games, and you're right, the co-op is the best!
Omg Yes! I’m very happy right now. I still remembering the day I bought guilty gear x2. Played it all dang night.
REGGGGIE!!
Me and my brother use to have the most intense battles on Guilty Gear x 2. I played Eddie, and he played Chip Zanif. Good times. Best fighting game in my opinion.
I really like GGX2 too. But it's not PS2 exclusive. I have PC version for example.
I'm ready for another game pickups. :)
I saw X2 in the video and immediately regretted selling my copy over a decade ago. At least #recode is good on Steam.
I'd love to see a part 2. The PS2 was such a fantastic system.

WAR OF THE MONSTERS!!!! I used to play that game all the time with my buddy!!! Some gems in here that I remember enjoying so much..
I love it when we get the Metal Jesus crew in these videos, but its nice sometime just to have Metal Jesus by himself sometimes like in this video! ☺
I wish you had mentioned Star Ocean till the end of time. It's such a good game and one of my all time favorites
Its on ps4 digital
Yeah. It's so good.
Rogue galaxy is on PS4 digital sooo what diff does that make till the end of time thanks as my fav too.. that plot twist!
Champions of Norrath is my favorite game of all time, love that game.
Same! It’s a shame no one seems to remember it. I still play it all the time.
So many hours spent playing Champions of Norrath with my brother. So good. Still good today.
This channel is awesome! I've learned a ton since discovering it. Thanks for making these and keep up the good work!
Thank you so much for mentioning Xenosaga! Such an underrated game that not many people talk about. 😍

Parts 2 and 3 please. God hand and under the skin deserve a shout out for sure.

nd am about to dig into collecting for the system.
Cool selections. PS2 was a beast.
check out the Level 5 games they are in the ps4 shop, dark cloud2/dark chronicles still holds up as an amazing game
Yep but whenever possible I always grab the game on o.g. xbox.480i doesnt hold up so well on modern screens.
Thank you so very much for mentioning the Xenosaga trilogy. First RPG series I ever played. I pray Namco re-releases it in HD. Then again, I wish they'd finish the series. For those that don't know, Xenosaga was originally a 6-part series.

Rogue Galaxy its my all-time favorite RPG
Did “Xenogears” ever tie into the XenoSaga storyline?
I'm so happy to finally hear someone give Downhill Domination some love. That game is so underrated.
You can play Rogue Galaxy on ps4 now if you don't mind a digital version.
Veto9999 I REALLY want Sony to actively support that ps2 emulator on the ps4. they haven't added a ps2 game in there in months
I honestly was hoping they would add Valkyrie Profile 2 on there so I wouldn't have to keep taking out my ps2 to play it but never happened sadly ;-;
Veto9999 I've been hoping for katamari damacy, ico and some persona games but no luck yet either lol
Jesus Perez they just added the rest of the mainline jak games and Jax x, but yeah it really need better support. My guess is it probably takes more work, then typically emulated ports, since they have to add trophies

I have been a subscriber like for 1 week ago and I can't stop watching your videos!! Your channel is amazing bro, cheers from Bolivia!
Gungrave is my hidden gem.
I haven't played the game in years...but I wanna go back to it.
MetalJesusRocks that game had a sequel that was pretty mediocre in my opinion. The story was interesting but the overall gameplay wasn't as good as the first game.
I haven't played game yet but love the anime, it's kinda underrated as well
Would definitely love a part 2 to this. If I remember correctly, the Resident Evil Outbreak series was also exclusively released for PS2.
Love a lot of these games. Xenosaga is one of my favorite RPG series. Also, Mark of Kri and Rise of Kasai are available with trophy support for the PS4 now.
+1 for Champions of Norrath. Excellent game! Legendary couch co-op
SSX hands down the best..still play it to this day.
The first SSX is a little rough, being the first game in the series...but those tracks are still fun to play!
Ssx is good, but SSX Tricky is everything
SSX was a launch title over here in Blighty and what a launch title. I was torn between that and Timesplitters on release day (I did pre order) plucked for SSX but TS is great as well. Still play both.
Looks like I need to get it >_>
Supreme snowboarding is the best snowboard game to me
Cool list. Thanks for the video! I love the PS2.
No x-files resist or serve, no God Hand, no Bouncer, no Contra games, and the list goes on
No Shadow of Rome, No Onimusha 2 or 3, no Maximo, no Haunting Ground
FFX
YakuZa I love FFX, but that's really freaking obvious. It has no place on this list. It's easily one of the most popular games of all time.
The PS/PS2 era Contra games were crap, though.
It's from his collection
Read description. I mean I know he's metal Jesus but he can have only so many games.
Great video , don’t know how I missed this one avid watcher of your channel fir the last 12 yrs
pro tip. use your PS3 av component cable on the PS2. it's not getting used on your PS3.... at least I hope it's not. ;)
Shaun Riggle i cant find my ps3 box plus i dont think it came with component cables
Freaking loved Downhill Domination as a kid, still is fun as hell to play!!
That is "Neo Contra" playing dude :)
Cool video. ^_^
Where's my Xeno-Squad at?
Hell yeah I’d love to see a part 2 to this! You rock, metal jesus
Please do a follow up to the PS2 light gun game library before Game Sack does!
I have just discovered your channel and It's amazing !! you are a fountain of knowledge about video games this list is amazing...besides I can use your videos to improve my english, good work buddie! Suscribed! greets from Spain bro!
But isnt socom also on psp? Ive seen them for download on psp i believe
Different games tho.they are not ports of the ps2 games. This is showing games only available on ps2 not a series
I do have quite a few of these. I'm forever thankful for keeping my Playstation 2 and all of my games!!! 👍👍👍
I hear that there's a rumor afoot about bringing a Xenosaga HD collection to Nintendo Switch 😉
I am glad you suggested Downhill Domination, one of my favorites that I still own today!
Also, part two would be awesome!
my gungrave has a different artwork , can anyone help me on whats the difference ?
my looks different too
So many ps2 games that were just incredible best console games yet . My favorites here are timesplitters war of the monsters and Down Hill domination.
gamer nature TheVideoGamer64 me too pal- fantastic system!! I have the Matrix Infinity modification in my 3000 series, so I can play All region PS1 and PS2 games, and DVDs!! Best system ever, from the last years of a time when games and entertainment was good!! Now= appallingly rubbish
"War of the Monsters can only be found on the PS2"
*laughs in PS4*
The ‘PS4 version’ is a digital emulation of a PS2 build though. So technically he was still right 😛
Plus at the end he mentions that some of the games that were talked about are on the PS4 as a digital download.
RAD looks absolutely awesome! I love the RC mechanic
Yeah also the graphics remind me of like an early Earth Defence Force game? I wonder if it's the same developers.
I have to somewhat disagree with Guilty Gear X2. It was released on Arcade first, however all the extras (Survival, Story, etc...) yes those were added on console.
Also, who was the 6th character? I can only think of 5. (I-No, Slayer, Zappa, Bridget & Robo-Ky)
X2 is also on PC.
X2 was also released on the orginal xbox.
A game only released on one console is considered a console exclusive
Guilty gear X2 had so many updated versions, so please don't mix them up
For PS2 Exclusivity, I would have to go with Gradius V and R-Type Final. These games look like they were in the arcade straight-up. I love schmups all over the place, but always go back to these, like Axelay and UN Squadron for the SNES. Great video!!!
Pretty sure Guilty Gear x2 is on the original xbox?
SSX was a system seller for me as well! Sure there were already a ton of snowboarding games, but none looked nearly as great as SSX!!! It had jaw-dropping graphics for its time! The first game I got for my PS2!
Rogue Galaxy is on PS4, bro. Has been for a minute.
I recently just purchased a PS2 again, and man... I'm having so much fun.
Xenosaga is Love Xenosaga is Life
LordVash26 they are remastering that for the switch

They are great, not perfect, but definitely great.
I really enjoyed that mate. Great to see and took me back a few years.
