i got sent a cease and desist from a game studio called (Blue collar studios) because i Leaked a model that they said they owned but didn't. it was my model i made i had all the proof to say so. this whole thing started because some guy stole it from me idk how but they listened to him, he said i gave it to him so i he said i sent the file over which i never did its a very long story plus all my friends got one for no reason i have no clue if its illegal to do that. also i found out it was a prank from my friends who gave it to the guy who leaked it i dont care about the model anymore. at the end it was very funny and we just keep messing with the studio because they did that.

Sounded like something that'd happen to me on a daily basis because i kept hiring "builders" for my roblox storm chasing game in 2021. After 2 years of RSCC drama, i just straight up retired from roblox game development. A community that was supposed to be chill and welcoming attacked me because my games sucked ass. It's insanity.
I know! I made a train game, it was going well when my devoluper deleted it and kept moving stuff so I kicked them. Then the went to other games and put stuff on my game to make it look like I stole it.

Im a roblox modeler too, i’ve been modeling for two years and I’ve already have been making business with other devs. Just make sure to always keep your models to yourself, do not share them with other devs that work with you unless they’re willing to pay. When giving your models to other developers make sure you can trust them. Anyways, I play Twisted in my meantime. Its fun, I like the car models they’re really well done. Especially the map it reminds me of the terrain of my hometown Hereford Texas. Well done game!
Sometimes you gotta be wise whether you wanna publish your hard work game or not, don’t forget that exploiters can also save your hard working game (basically stealing your game) to either keep your game/models as souvenir or by selling and publishing into the toolbox. Unfortunately this always happens.
Tip for later on, not sure if your doing this already. But make sure that people who "claim" to be former devs for a game, provide proper proof of such in the form of them working on it, roles in the group or discord, etc.

I'm really sorry to hear about this as a dev, I really hope you can solve this somehow. There is a VERY important lesson to be learned through this, to make sure it never happens again: NEVER give full access to people you hire, especially if they are new/not trusted! Only give them access to what they need to have in order to work, nothing else. Also, make sure to do background checks before hiring them!
Bro, I feel u it’s overly annoying when people steal your work and time and take them to make profit off of it. I’ve had to file so many dmca’s against groups that were bigger than mine when I’ve created the work they stole from me.
I worked on models for a Roblox game , I’d build Soviet 2nd/3rd generation fighter jets & helicopters for a post-apocalyptic game taking place in Seversk. The developer kept delaying my salary and i eventually i found out they put them for sale on Sketchfab without me knowing and made about €300 off of them. This was very unfortunate because i spent about 2 months making them. I built the Mi-24P/A/V , MiG-21Bis , MiG-23/27 & Sukhoi-25. I immediately quit and never received any money. The game development got discontinued ~2 Years later. The models were quite realistic and i’d put much effort and time into them. This financially hurt much, I’m very sorry for what you’re going trough and i know what it is like. It feels truly awful to be exploited especially when you put much effort into something. I wish you luck with filing the DMCA documents!

I hope you got all models saved and all data, as evidence, so can got to trial and that. Have seen happen to games also, one making a game, another one stealing it.. Like the superman thing on Unreal, was made as a model for free,to show what you can do, someone stole it and made it as a game..Some ppl are really rotten.. So go get him! Good luck!

I think you should know that exploiters can download all models, buildings, and everything that's in a game. All they have to do is join. Chances are, he's not the only person with the entire map, models, and everything from Twisted on their computer.
As someone who has had work stolen and as someone who has had to rat people for stealing assets from close friends of mine, i feel this heavily My best words of advice is before working with *anyone*, you need to run an in depth background check, talk to other devs about them, ect ect. you need to have absolute trust in who you work with, dont even think about risking your work for a potentially harmful person to come and snatch it or worse. I also heavily recommend going out of your way to learn how to make written contracts, such as NDAs (Non Disclosure Agreement). They are legally binding contracts that you co-sign with the person you are employing, and can be used in legal matters such as theft of work, exposing work secrets, ect. They are super easy to learn and setup and its a nice extra mile to take to make sure nothing bad happens without proper punishment. Stay safe out there ^^

studio modeler here, I've experienced extremely similar pain a year ago, I made a car model for one of my fictional roblox car brands that one of my friends offered to help me with, and while he didn't steal and leak the car, he tested it in a public game, but left his inventory open and the model public (for the owner of the game to get so he could test the car in-game) and a problematic user within the community we're both in slot sniped my friend, revealed the model on their personal twitter with 0 credit towards me or my friend, and published the model onto the toolbox for anyone to grab So very sorry you have to deal with this, hopefully you can get this situation sorted
imma find ur models and use them as a reference to make my own nah jk but fr tho, that's actually messed up. what a scummy thing to do. I hope y'all will be able to get this settled. until then I'll be on the lookout for any suspiciously good tiv models in the toolbox lol

you should make a distribution place and only let people into that one, if you need to copy over assets, ctrl + C/V does work between places so long as you keep either place open when copying
Thats why I started making all my vehicles and games myself, I got a lot of my vehicles stolen (now keep in mind back then they weren't great) about 2 years ago
As a 3d Modeler ive experience this all the time, they will never stop, just think of them as stupid and move on sadly, but when people need proof I just show them the 3DS Max Project
Its life mate Its very easy to get your assets stolen even for normal players to use a script or request a model ripper. I requested a model ripper before and got 2 maps by someone now having all there assets.

there are 2 types of 3D modelers. the ones that upload their work to the public so people can use them, and the ones that have their models stolen and uploaded to the toolbox so people can use the,.
yep this is gonna be a long and winded battle as more models keep getting stolen from people.. its a never ending cycle and it will never end. However, keep up the good work and do what you can to keep your mind at peace.
I never really played twisted frequently but I've always been a fan of your dedication to making things from scratch. The Intercept vehicles within the game are some of the best I've seen And coming from one dev to another, I think it's downright shameful for anyone to steal anyone elses work without their permission. Prayers being sent to you that we're all able to report any stolen Models for Copyright.
As a dev myself, I gotta say this is awful, man. I offer my greatest condelences out to you, profusely! As a modeler, having your stuff stolen can be one of the worst things to happen - Especially when it's posted up for the public. I'm sorry for what they did, mate.
I had another user steal my game, all the assets I made, some of the coding I did, damage models, built models, etc. This user was a friend I allowed access to the files, forgot I allowed access (The original intent was he would be helping me out with some of the modeling of the environment, but with the time delays I wasn't too interested in doing it myself) . I ended up cancelling the project due to work and time not being very much at my favor. I worked on this stuff for around a year. I was offline for several months because well, I was travelling for work and didn't have time to build/log on. Ended up logging into a old server with this user in it, he was bragging away about MY FILES and how he managed to make a working game. I joined up in it, played it, essentially I could tell it was a lot of free stuff/some paid code including my items I made. I had some unfinished stuff as well as stuff I made mistakes on that didn't count to the simple historical accuracy I was aiming for (Which were only used for cockpit/interior reference and were set aside for reference, this is how I knew immediately these weren't copies but my assets) When confronting him I got a ban and the mods of the server defended him despite seeing evidence. I brought it up with Roblox but nothing was really done. It did get popular for a short time, gathering around 100-200 players before he took the game down. I dont know why he took the game down, but its no longer accessible. I just gave up after awhile and decided to let him keep the assets I worked so hard on. He ended up getting banned from Roblox for using cheats, to which he later came and apologized over it. In reality I am sure he was looking to get access to some of the assets to a mini game I was making, but I told him it wasn't really fit to show to people and I wasn't interested in hanging out at all. Entire time on the call he kept pushing and pushing, eventually I just ended it all that night. I have since stopped working on any Roblox projects, Roblox won't take your side on some of this stuff which is ridiculous. My words of advice, having worked on some games for some stuff. Be really careful of who you share access and who you hire as a builder. Ask them to build you a interview build or something to prevent any kind of asset stealing. My game was a WW1 based game that was heavy on vehicle sim and gun combat. I really hope you get this matter settled and things just get sorted out.
Same happened whit me.. I was creating a claw machine (arcade game) and someone named “Octavio” stolen it to then.. be unmarked and be called that the guy named “Rocco” did it while he just uses free models..
As a 3d and roblox dev from the Balkans making models used for Balkan communities i experience these things every week having models and stuff i worked on for weeks or even months stolen and most of the time they go unpunished i hope you file a dmca or get the thing sorted out as it can be seen that you put a lot of time into making those models and designing them

i wanna make my own twisted styled game, but interplanetary, you get barley anything on the radar except a aproxximate square thats the size of said storm and a warning for what type.
I just joined the broken skies discord last night and became a tester. I had no clue he was doing any of this. I really hope he gets what is coming to him.
What the most fucked up part is, Because he uploaded them to the toolbox, if set to public there are like dedicated groups running asset 'stealers' 24/7 the second you upload a public model you'll probably get a bot message in your inbox saying something like "Your model has just been archive/stolen/comped" or whatever with a link to a discord server, they just log every single assets uploaded with a rblx file to download. so you can't even take these assets down anymore.
Always document proof for building, the Roblox development community has its absolute horrible people in it, and the only thing you can do is legally take the builds down, and sue obviously. Also, you can do electronic NDAs (electronically) or in person if needed which can be a big time thing. (They can then be sued, and you can take it to Roblox.)

this would've happened in any case wether there was a insider leaking things or not. something to understand for context: exploits often have a feature called "saveinstance" that essentially takes a snapshot of the game in its current state. then it saves the state to a place file which the exploiter then can open. its possible to get any model that is loaded into memory, and i mean, ANY. the chance of you getting to take any decisive action to remove the models is pretty slim, roblox generally doesn't care.

Thats why I started making all my vehicles and games myself, I got a lot of my vehicles stolen (now keep in mind back then they weren't great) about 2 years ago

Its life mate Its very easy to get your assets stolen even for normal players to use a script or request a model ripper. I requested a model ripper before and got 2 maps by someone now having all there assets.
This is exactly why we can't have a nice things. The reason why all of my new places are still in private.

so sorry dude. i'm a CAD designer and put many hours into making sure my finalised pieces are absolutely perfect, the time and effort massively outweighs what the final product may look like. It's an insult to not just your ability but also the time to have your models stolen.

there are 2 types of 3D modelers. the ones that upload their work to the public so people can use them, and the ones that have their models stolen and uploaded to the toolbox so people can use the,.
yep this is gonna be a long and winded battle as more models keep getting stolen from people.. its a never ending cycle and it will never end. However, keep up the good work and do what you can to keep your mind at peace.

As a dev myself, I gotta say this is awful, man. I offer my greatest condelences out to you, profusely! As a modeler, having your stuff stolen can be one of the worst things to happen - Especially when it's posted up for the public. I'm sorry for what they did, mate.
I had another user steal my game, all the assets I made, some of the coding I did, damage models, built models, etc. This user was a friend I allowed access to the files, forgot I allowed access (The original intent was he would be helping me out with some of the modeling of the environment, but with the time delays I wasn't too interested in doing it myself) . I ended up cancelling the project due to work and time not being very much at my favor. I worked on this stuff for around a year. I was offline for several months because well, I was travelling for work and didn't have time to build/log on. Ended up logging into a old server with this user in it, he was bragging away about MY FILES and how he managed to make a working game. I joined up in it, played it, essentially I could tell it was a lot of free stuff/some paid code including my items I made. I had some unfinished stuff as well as stuff I made mistakes on that didn't count to the simple historical accuracy I was aiming for (Which were only used for cockpit/interior reference and were set aside for reference, this is how I knew immediately these weren't copies but my assets) When confronting him I got a ban and the mods of the server defended him despite seeing evidence. I brought it up with Roblox but nothing was really done. It did get popular for a short time, gathering around 100-200 players before he took the game down. I dont know why he took the game down, but its no longer accessible. I just gave up after awhile and decided to let him keep the assets I worked so hard on. He ended up getting banned from Roblox for using cheats, to which he later came and apologized over it. In reality I am sure he was looking to get access to some of the assets to a mini game I was making, but I told him it wasn't really fit to show to people and I wasn't interested in hanging out at all. Entire time on the call he kept pushing and pushing, eventually I just ended it all that night.
I have since stopped working on any Roblox projects, Roblox won't take your side on some of this stuff which is ridiculous. My words of advice, having worked on some games for some stuff. Be really careful of who you share access and who you hire as a builder. Ask them to build you a interview build or something to prevent any kind of asset stealing. My game was a WW1 based game that was heavy on vehicle sim and gun combat.
I really hope you get this matter settled and things just get sorted out.

Same happened whit me.. I was creating a claw machine (arcade game) and someone named “Octavio” stolen it to then.. be unmarked and be called that the guy named “Rocco” did it while he just uses free models..
As a 3d and roblox dev from the Balkans making models used for Balkan communities i experience these things every week having models and stuff i worked on for weeks or even months stolen and most of the time they go unpunished i hope you file a dmca or get the thing sorted out as it can be seen that you put a lot of time into making those models and designing them

When it comes to legal stuff you could probably make people who you hire sign a form like an NDA not to share or distribute stuff otherwise you can sue, crappy situation tho :(

What the most fucked up part is, Because he uploaded them to the toolbox, if set to public there are like dedicated groups running asset 'stealers' 24/7 the second you upload a public model you'll probably get a bot message in your inbox saying something like "Your model has just been archive/stolen/comped" or whatever with a link to a discord server, they just log every single assets uploaded with a rblx file to download. so you can't even take these assets down anymore.
I feel very bad for you. And if I made models and they got stolen i would be so mad!

Always document proof for building, the Roblox development community has its absolute horrible people in it, and the only thing you can do is legally take the builds down, and sue obviously. Also, you can do electronic NDAs (electronically) or in person if needed which can be a big time thing. (They can then be sued, and you can take it to Roblox.)

this would've happened in any case wether there was a insider leaking things or not.
something to understand for context: exploits often have a feature called "saveinstance" that essentially takes a snapshot of the game in its current state.
then it saves the state to a place file which the exploiter then can open. its possible to get any model that is loaded into memory, and i mean, ANY.
the chance of you getting to take any decisive action to remove the models is pretty slim, roblox generally doesn't care.
