    That pump is going to go out sooner than later. My AEM 320 failed in less than a month. Also, if you're going to be running 385 in the future, put some ID1700s in there along with a walbro 450 and call it a day. Easy 600whp without any crazy fuel modifications necessary.

    • @drivennw2416
      @drivennw2416  7 лет назад +1

      Derek Besant Yeah I'm happy with my 320 currently. I had a 255 and that failed within 9 months.. All pumps go out eventually, I said in a previous video that I'm going to get ID 1400 or ID 1700 the updated new versions. I'm spending more on my fuel setup because you never want to cheap out on such an important part of the engine. (Not saying 450 hardwired isn't a cheap way) but I'm going to be tracking the car and don't want any starvation when I'm getting on it. Essentially it's going to be a double pumper setup just alot more reliable and better imo.

    So I have always been back and forth on this, but for the warm up I have heard that letting the car idle until 150 degrees, then driving. But I do the start the car, let it idle for 30 seconds to get the oil flowing then keep it below 2k until warm. I have heard just letting it idle to warm up is bad because the fuel enrichment cycle on cold start washes past the rings and washes oil away from the cylinder walls and leads to excess wear because the rings have not expanded due to heat yet, and that driving lightly until warm is better because it warms the oil and engine faster to expand the rings to the proper sealed tolerances. What are some thoughts on this? I hear great pros to both sides.

    • @drivennw2416
      @drivennw2416  7 лет назад +1

      aSUBIEnamedSTELLA Honestly I feel like the subject of letting car warm up is personal preference. I prefer to let the car warm up a bit for oil to warm up and circulate throughout. I think it also depends on how thick your oil is and climate related. For instance I'm running 20w50 around mid thirty degrees on start up so I prefer letting it get up in operation temp. I also do wait for about 30 secs then drive easy and works the same, the car is just a bit more cranky and moody.

    when you upgrade the turbo yourself, you took it to your tuner driving it or did you have to take it on a trailer or something

    • @drivennw2416
      @drivennw2416  7 лет назад +1

      German Garcia You’d have to trailer it unless you didn’t upgrade the intake size. If you went 3.5in maf it will be terrible to drive without a tune.

    • @drivennw2416
      @drivennw2416  7 лет назад

      HalalGaming Since I got all the hot parts off a guy from ebay, I paid 1,200 and about 300 extra for the intake intercooler piping and a valve cover. Haha that's cheap. I bought the efr 8374 brand new so it was 2,200$ the kit brand new is almost 8k all said and done haha. so I'd say I did good

    Great video and awesome sounding Evo X. I have a question. Is driving with a test pipe as bad as some say, in regards to sound being too loud and the gas smell? Thank you.

    • @drivennw2416
      @drivennw2416  7 лет назад +1

      I think it makes the car sound a lot better honestly. Yes its loud but more of a deep sound which is awesome for a 4 cylinder. As for gas smell you can hardly smell it, i only noticed it when i stopped and had the car idle for about 5 mins. Defiantly worth the money!

    FINALLY a detailed video on an X with an 8374. Do you think it would be ok on stock block with a conservative tune?

    • @drivennw2416
      @drivennw2416  7 лет назад +4

      MrDkallday Absolutely! this kit would be perfect for you the power and driveblilty is amazing. You could even go with a 7670 efr one size down if you were worried about stock block going out, then eventually if you get tired of the 7670 or end up building the block just swap turbo's out with 8374. Honestly the biggest thing is the tune. Have someone with knowledge with the efr turbo kit tune it and your golden!

    I'm right at 500hp on my evo with about the exact same set up but I'm running on 91 pump gas what oil would you recommend to use?

    • @drivennw2416
      @drivennw2416  7 лет назад +1

      donnie mckee It depends on how your weather is were you live and how high you are up in the rpms usually. the lowest I'd ever run is 10w30. Just due to the fact when your at higher rpms your oil gets thin with the temp and how fast the motor rotation is and can't keep everything happy and lubricated how it needs to be. I'm currently running 20w50 amsoil. It's generally recommend on built motors to run thicker oil. I'm also reving my motor up to 8.6k when really getting on it. I also live in Washington so I don't have the coldest Winters so it works fine. Hope that helps!

    • @donniemckee

    • @donniemckee
      @donniemckee 7 лет назад +1

      Driven NW it's not to bad here tho I'm in a pretty big city still Wichita the street racing scene is pretty popular here a lot of cars around. And I'm loving it the car runs great I wish the car would have a more constant lope from the cams tho like how it is on a cools start

    • @drivennw2416
      @drivennw2416  7 лет назад

      donnie mckee Are you also running gsc s2's? lots of people enjoy the kelford c's little bit bigger profile on the cam. I wish the Street scene was bigger where I'm at I have to drive like an hour and half to find some races... :/ But when it warms up people get more lively and I'll get more races in.

    • @drivennw2416
      @drivennw2416  7 лет назад +2

      Edwin Labardini It depends on what your end goal is ultimately. If your shooting for high HP you're going to want the GSR, based on the fact the manual transmission can take tons of power. But as a trade off sounds like you might get a leg workout. MR's are awesome and wicked fast around the track with there dual clutch. But they can only roughly take 350 whp and 330 tq reliably. Then you'll possibly have to build the transfer and get some tranny coolers. both are awesome choices tho! I'd say drive both 😎
