Thank you for this video I just ordered this on Amazon it went on sale today. There are some functions that like you said you're not going to have but keeping it under $1,000 and buying a great quality unit that can test your car from the inside out I don't think you can go wrong with this unit for a shade tree mechanic like myself. Thank you again.
Unless you know how to troubleshoot digital electronics that machine won't do you much good. Most of the digital problems are the connectors on the computer. Usually heat up the connectors. Wiggle a little bit then push on the connectors. That will save you a lot of BS.
Actually mike, you have the MaxiPRO MP808S-TS, I have the MaxiCOM MK808TS and it’s very similar. Both models actually support Autel’s newest MaxiBAS battery testing equipment like the BT506 and the MaxiVideo MV108 inspection camera!
My buddy was looking at scanners.he asked my advice and I happened to the Altel. $1500 later. He bought one. Handed it to me. Learning it now. Thanks for the insite
I'm still trying to figure out who sent me an MS906 a few years ago. It's surely been a life-saver in the garage for our fleet (Fords, BMW, Subaru etc) and while I've got some of the smaller units like CARly, this takes the cake for coding, ABS bleeding as you said. Just used it last night for the brake maintenance mode on my wife's Outback!
I went with the Launch with all the adapters and functions. So far it has been fantastic and out performed the shop's Snap On scanner which is the latest and greatest they sell.
The problem with the bluetooth models is they have bluetooth lag. So they do run slower compared to their corded cousins. Also you say this is the MK version but in your title you showed it as the MP version. Cheers...
It’s getting to the stage, that manufacturers sell the scan tool relatively cheap, and make their profit with the limited software updates. The blue tooth feature is great!! Mike : will you purchase the 38 pin adaptor, being a Mercedes “Fanboi”? You may be able to purchased a screen protector for the Autel unit. Love your work mate, very enjoyable, and when you and Randy get out, start randomly talking about stuff….in this case “Turkey necks” … just a couple of blokes having a laugh!!! Funny 😂🤣😆 -Have a great day mate, all the best from Australia 🇦🇺
At least this one didn't burst into flames! Love your intro. Looking for a scan tool that can read modules and clear error codes on 2012-15 Chevrolet Volts. Would be nice to find one that does not use pirated software or requires subscription, but when you need one out in the boonies you need one. Maybe I'm dreaming? I'm not a certified tech and don't do it for a living, respect those who do it everyday.
Cool, an S-Type. The reader is working as I expected it. But in order to make the reader really shine Autel should send you a newer simpler car with the device. A Kia or a Fiesta or a nice Saab, just a suggestion 😁😁
Been trying to filter thru all the Autel scanners as a DIY guy. I think I may have settled on this one because this one includes the TPS functions. Which unit were you after?
Why are most of these scanner test reviews being demoed on BMWs and Mercedes and not US MADE vehicles? How about some older models also like 2000 up, as so many popular used vehicles are being maintained today due to the economy. Thanks for your reviews and vids. Great job.
thats because they have to pay manufacturers for the new information. the scanner will work with out updates to the date it's updated to (so if your updates stop at the model year 2022, that is what it will work on 22 and older back to 1996). Also you can skip years and unlike snapon autel will NOT back charge you for years you skip.
Love the BMW I used to drive a similar one years ago when I did detailing it was the parts runner car for the dealership. Beautiful Green. Awesome Video Mike.
Mike, watches your video on the Maxiepro scanner and I'm not finding it on there website,.. I have a grandson graduation from OSU auto tech program in conjunction with Jim Norton TOYOTA and was thinking of getting him something like that for his graduation, help please Al
Mike it probably DOES do the jag.. I have a mp808 and it will do a X type. it's not in the module you'd think it should be. I think it was in the BCM or maybe it was the PCM.
I like the video and what youre doing on your side of things, but as for this company...$900 is steep for this reader when most readers in the $300-$400 range are slimmer, lighter, faster, and do the same things. Most of these readers now all have the same UI/Software installed too. Its a matter of paying for the name, which is sad. Those of us working on cars in shops don't even buy these high dollar scanners much anymore from my recent experiences. Hell, my $400 reader I can even order parts directly from the manufacturer off the reader itself.. To each their own though.
I noticed there were loads of updates on the reader, doing them might have helped, I looked at the videos and cannot see an update to recoding key with the scanner, I had issues with my scanner but they were all cleared up with updates.
Yeah just like the other ones will give you a code, but that won't be what is wrong. Most of the time it is a connection in the computer. Heat up the connectors and and push in on the connectors. restart the engine, and usually that's the problem. Connectors are usually the problem. Don't take it to a dealer if the warranty is out. The techs have no clue how to fix those. They aren't taught how to troubleshoot digital electronics. What they will do is start replacing parts, and charge you even if it isn't fixed. If the warranty is out don't take it to a dealer. The techs don't know how to troubleshoot digital electronics. All they know how to do is replace parts.
MWM where is the Disco Inferno Car 190E? the S420 Is The best or nothing Car of all TIME .....!!! Randy Has A Holder the you can holt it on the steering wheel where we can see
That is low key so cool especially the end part! Hope we see that car in the future that’d be a fun series!

I just bought one of these before I saw your video. Seems to work OK but still checking it out. Love your channel!
I think you’ll like it!!

Way to go!!
Getting more toys to repair the Mercedes Benz’s your going to master these. No matter what! Congratulations 💯👊👍

Which exact model?
X431 V+ pro@@seth2429
Love, the video Mike :) Hope all is well :)
I'm getting the MK808S.
The problem with the bluetooth models is they have bluetooth lag. So they do run slower compared to their corded cousins. Also you say this is the MK version but in your title you showed it as the MP version. Cheers...
FYI, If you extend the kick stand you can hang the unit on the steering wheel.
Can this unit be use to diagnose toyota ?thank you for the one who can answer me❤❤❤

Obd placement was pretty nice
Fine work Mike ! Have fun with your scanner , I bet you solve a lot of the problems those cars have. 👍👏👏👏

Saw the mystery vehicle on your code reader ..... Jaguar S-Type. Hope to see it soon.
Why are most of these scanner test reviews being demoed on BMWs and Mercedes and not US MADE vehicles? How about some older models also like 2000 up, as so many popular used vehicles are being maintained today due to the economy. Thanks for your reviews and vids. Great job.
thats a great tool mike, technology has come a long way
Comparing the bluetooth model with the cable version, which one is better and in terms of communication and overall reliability?
These are really nice but the subscription runs out in 1 year and they want $350 a year to renew after that.
You have to be a professional to be able to afford it, or to have a lot of cars...

😱😱😱
They have some where the annual subscription is over a grand. I have one. It's worth every penny.
Turn brightness up
wounder how many people notice you hit jaguar when you was scanning your secret car
Everyone… lol
will this do dodge ram diesel truck, thanks
Can this unit be used to clone a 2013 Subaru ECM including VIN number?
What is the difference between the MK808S and mp808S-TS??
Mp is top tier, mk I lower tier
Hellow Mike good luck buddy
Do these pin point what sensor it throwing check engine lights or is it just like the 10.00 code scanners that i then have to google
Does it detect odometer fraud?
Persistence pays off . When you start getting aggravated chill .
Mike, watches your video on the Maxiepro scanner and I'm not finding it on there website,.. I have a grandson graduation from OSU auto tech program in conjunction with Jim Norton TOYOTA and was thinking of getting him something like that for his graduation, help please
Al
Darn. You are making me want to get one.
Mike it probably DOES do the jag.. I have a mp808 and it will do a X type. it's not in the module you'd think it should be. I think it was in the BCM or maybe it was the PCM.
The scanners will only be allowed to read, what the manufacturer's will allow, not the scanner itself?
Thanks Mike

I think the bi-directional capabilities certainly help. But thanks for watching the video.
What kind of scanner are you using ?
Just some advice....no need to have the engine running.....just turn the key.
The computer doesn't like BMWS ! Neither do I . After bully for you.
So you can’t recode keys at all with this unit or just that specific car
I noticed there were loads of updates on the reader, doing them might have helped, I looked at the videos and cannot see an update to recoding key with the scanner, I had issues with my scanner but they were all cleared up with updates.
Hello Mike aka Monkey Wrench Mike. The Autel MK808S-TS MaxiPro is a great scanner for cars and trucks.
I think so too!
nice scanner.
Mike you need some good HAT'S
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Jag S-type huh? 😮

wouldn't it be nice Mike to once have a car you didn't need to use a code readers on
That doesn't seem any faster than any other Bluetooth Autel diagnostic device Mike? Sorry
It’s faster than my other scanners.
I'm sorry but I did not get anything., out of this video. 👍or 👎 ??
@monkeywrenchmike did you notice the troll in your comments using your picture and saying he has something for you let's talk.
Nope. Let me go see who
Hell yeah! Just send me one... puuuleeeezzzz.... 😉
Yeahhh, bring back the SLK, lets drive in the sun

That's a cool tool to have and I bet the mystery car is another Mercedes.😏😅
If you look closely, it is a Jaguar.
MWM where is the Disco Inferno Car 190E? the S420 Is The best or nothing Car of all TIME .....!!! Randy Has A Holder the you can holt it on the steering wheel where we can see
She’s still here!
One of these days you will reference the internet from your Autel and one of your videos is gonna pop. 😂
🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻
Anyone interested in Autel MS909 for under $1500?
WAAAAY too long intro and too much chatter. Just demo and review the product.
Hey Mike
