Hey JD When you installed this ride plate initially you screwed the reverse bucket quick connect all the way back due to KSpeed instructions. However, at that time you had the pump wedge installed as well , but have now removed it. So my question is did you readjust the quick connect and screw it back to stock settings bc you removed the pump wedge, or does the quick connect need to be screwed all the way back regardless of using a pump wedge or not when installing this new KS3 ride plate. Im about to install my ride plate today with No pump wedge and wondering if the steps are all the same with or without a pump wedge bc the KSpeed is using a wedge and doesn't state if it would be different without a wedge.
So this depends largely if you have a 2024 model or a 2022-2023 model. For 2024 Kawasaki changed the reverse cable length, but for 2022-2023 they provided an update that the quick connect must be all the way screwed in- whether you have a ride plate, wedge, or not. So to directly answer your question, if you have a 2022-2023 model you will want to screw that connector all the way on like I did in the video and then run the initialize function by holding the mode button while in maitnance mode
Thanx for the response and Awesome timing as I am just about to start the install and needed this info to save me from running into any issues. And since mine is a 23' model I will follow the same steps as you did. Keep up the great videos!
The trim method raises the bow by redirecting the water from the pump to provide lift, while the ride plate provides lift by redirecting the water passing under the hull. The plate provides more lift with less drag than bending the jet pump flow.
Check out my ocean ride video and decide for yourself. Due to the higher bow angle you will lose a bit of hookup with any ride plate, but with the Kspeed one I wouldn't say it's a major issue. Have your tried trimming down a notch or two? PART 2: Ocean Test of the Kspeed KS3 ProRace Ride Plate for the 22'+ Kawasaki Ultra 310 Jet Ski [4K] ruclips.net/video/ZHL3TDNk_38/видео.html
Hey I have a question. I have a 96 kawasaki ss 750 xi with a dual keihin cdk II carburetor and everything was good till it started to rew only to 5.5k rpms. I can not diagnose the problem
Did you check fuel pressure? Fuel tank breather vent? Pop off pressure? When's the last time the carbs were rebuilt and you inspected the jets? Did you check the stator? Did you check the ebox? Hopefully you have a manual- make a list and go down testing each thing until you find the smoking gun. Also check the exhaust hoses to make sure none are collapsed
My previous top speed with just the kspeed stage 1 kit and pump wedge was 72 as well. This is not a "speed" mod but rather a handling and performance mod I would call it
@@JDsWaterWorld Yes the wedge is more like worse handling and a little more top speed but I will take it. Impressed with the 310X 10 years old running in fresh water and faster than new!
@@JDsWaterWorld Do you know the weight difference between the gen 1 310X and the gen 2? I know they are the same from the water down but the rear deck looks considerably bigger.
nice vid too much bow lift" yeah thats exactly what happened to my 340 hp gp18 w tge riva ride plate. i cant run any higher than neutral trim over 70 mph try 85 mph trim up it bounces unsafe like almost. raced 3 other gprs doing 90 they all had deans team items. told me to sell my riva stuff. no ty 85 is fine by me
Thanks, ride plate only, no wedge exactly what I needed to know.
Another great video 👌🏻
Impressive JD!
Another great video! I am fairly certain I am getting more miles per tank with the new Kspeed KS3 Ride Plate. Have you noticed this?
Interesting- I have not done and long rides since installing the plate but will definitely look out on my next long ride for increase in fuel mileage.
Hey JD, are you still riding without the wedge in there or have you added it back in?
I have removed the wedge and am not running it now- only the ride plate
👏🙌🙏

Ok awesome. Let me know how you like the ride plate!
Dumb question but how is this different or better from just trimming up one from neutral after you are on plane?
The trim method raises the bow by redirecting the water from the pump to provide lift, while the ride plate provides lift by redirecting the water passing under the hull. The plate provides more lift with less drag than bending the jet pump flow.
Hi I have a Riva ride plate and it is constantly losing thrust with the smallest chop. Does this do the same?

If you are only fast on glass, how fun is that.? To only race or ride when everyone is sleeping, I take 67 on every situation any time.
Hmm my 2015 310X with SCOM, 2 degree wedge and waste gate block off just hit 72Mph

Riva claims the 310 does 76mph with just their tune but I call BS unless they have a 150lb preteen rider downwind on glass water with 1 gallon of gas
