Thanks for this and the 2 door review. Can you do one for the 4 door petrol Rubicon and another for the 4 door petrol Overland? They have different gearing/weights, should be interesting to see the difference. There's no comparison out there so you'll be the first.
@@DarioCaballerocolombia This has a much much more heavy duty drive-train. So the drive-train losses are much higher. Maybe the diesel torque delivery is optimised for this version of this 8 speed. The 3L in the US has the stronger 8 speed.

The old diesel V6 in JEEP is a M. Benz engine. This diesel is 2143 cm3 the same as the MB 4cyl in line is, then is it the same engine as MB is using? The auto gearbox is 8 gear and who is making it?
What were you revving it to when brake holding? I've found that it maxes about 2,000 rpm but if you try to hold it there for too long it will drop back to idle. Definitely seems to make difference trying to win the traffic light grand prix in Sydney ;)
as i know this 2.2 diesel (European version) is on chain and does anyone know for sure if this new 3.0 eco-diesel engines for this new JL-wranglers are on timing belt or chain ???
It's pretty sad that a Santa-Fe or Sorrento with Hyundai's older/venerable 2.2L Diesel does 0-100 in around 8.5 - 9sec roughly Similar power between them both, the EcoDiesel is an all new animal, alot quicker again 🤣
@@ThomasFG I hope they bring a CRDI Santa Fe if they don't lie about bringing it to the US again like what they did last year, same with the sister Sorento.
Brian Lee Too many emissions hoops to bring that kind of engine to the states. You’d end up with a crippled, expensive and woefully underpowered engine. Mazda is bringing a diesel CX5 and it’s not full efficient, inexpensive, or powerful
I'm brazilian and owner of a Renegade with turbodiesel engine and I can't understand why Jeep refuses to offer Wrangler with diesel engines in Brazil. Here, diesel is cheaper than gasoline and very appreciated in pickups, CUVs and SUVs. But just Wrangler is only offered with no diesel engine: neither 2.2 TD nor 3.0 V6 Ecodiesel. Grand Cherokee (3.0 V6), Compass and Renegade (2.0 TD) have this option...
Same here In India...we have one of the biggest diesels vehicles purchasing market but they offer the new wrangler with only one 2 litter turbo petrol and rest all models have diesel .....very wrong decision in every way
it's an off roader with twin lockers, ladder chassis, twin live axles, low end torque and can daily it. If you're comparing this to a camry, you have no idea.

It's a 2 ton ladder frame off roader with a diesel engine. Who even cares about whether it does 0 to 100 in amazing times. This thing will dominate everything else off road, where it belongs. If you want something faster you can get the Wrangler Rubicon with the V6, which does 0 to 100 in under 9 seconds. And the new 2.0 turbo is also in the 9 seconds area.

does anyone know that this 2.2 diesel engine on new jl wrangler is on timing belt or chain ???
