electrikoptik That is not completely right. Diesel is cheaper is most European countries, but the diesel equivalent for a petrol often is 3.000 to 4.000 euros more expensive. Sales guy said a guy ordered it. and when it came in he saw the price $$$$$$$$$$$ and bolted. He never came back, they had to hold it so long. Since he put a deposit down. Then the dealership basically forgot about it. His loss my gain. They cut the price a lot since it was a 2022. Then gave me 25 k for my old jeep and we put 10k cash down as well. And we still have payments lol. But I got my dream wrangler. They have a ton of the Gladiators a ton of them. Some of them are eco-diesels. I tried to get in one and didn't fit. Anyone over 6 ft is not going to fit either. They are super small inside. So small I couldn't even get into the back seat. Sales guy said they made them after a Chinese guy. Most men do not fit in them. So, if you're on the small side. Here you go . They are practically giving them away. I bet there were #30 of them on the lot.

Funny how you mentioned you like the steering better in this new Sahara. It is because Jeep has an issue with the steering box and the newer one is made out of steel instead of the older aluminum one. That is why the steering is tighter and the Jeep tends to wander less on the roads, not because of the bigger tires on the Rubicon models. Jeep has not been forced or put out a recall on this issue. Shame on Jeep! My Gladiator Rubicon wanders and so did my 2018 Wrangler Rubicon that I traded in on. Same problem. Same weak steering box. There is a dealer TSB on this issue and I have read that some dealers do not know about this and/or will deny there is a problem with the steering. My dealer's service guy said "it's a Jeep, they all do that". I told him BS, my 2010 Wrangler with bigger tires drives better. He was clueless.
I've had a lot of Wranglers in the past, but now I love the Gladiators more. Did you notice when you turn on the Sahara and the animation goes from the 41 Jeep to the new Jeep a Gladiator cruises across the bottom instead of a Wrangler. I have the 21 Gladiator High Altitude and will love overlanding with it. I choose the gas V6 because it is cheaper all around and easier to maintain. actually the issue with small steering inputs on the highway is an allignment issue not really the tyres... yes the tyres do affect overall geometry but caster and mainly toe affect the sensibility of the inputs specially ln the highway (toe in makes it understeer more requiring less inputs and toe out makes it easier to oversteer and the caster makes the steering self center when you leave it)

This Italian diesel is having a lot of early failures
Unfortunately true my uncle got one and it was in the shop for 4 months he just got it back but damn...when he literally first got it just shut down
@@skywalk78none94 yeah it's really a shame what FCA has done, they refuse to use an "outside" brand for light diesels which means the already weary american public will have a poor diesel experience and shy away from it further
@@Vultite yeah it’s ridiculous. Not only that when they got it back it was missing an engine cap , something under the hood was damaged & came back gross....he stood his grown & got it fixed again....FCA paid for the 4 months of payments & gave them an extra 5year warranty....
@@skywalk78none94 ugh terrible, I hope he got rid of it
It's designed to fail after a certain amount of miles
Love this power train in my ram. I've out 13k miles in 3 months and no problems so far. It revs out like a gas engine, is super torquey, starts instantly even in negative temperatures, and gets 28 to 30 mpg average highway with 4wd.
What do you get when 4x4 is not engaged?
@@catchthefire4Him I meant having the extra weight of 4wd equipment In general. 2wd got the higher numbers. I think having it in 4wd got like 25mpg highway
Edit: these numbers were with a hard tonneau cover which definitely made a difference in mpg
Don't know about other European countries, but here we have had 2.2L (200 hp, around 400 - 450 Nm) Diesel option for Jeep Wrangler for few years. Would love to have the 3L option.
These eco-diesels are rare as "Hens Teeth"" now Everyone is snatching them up. Took me two weeks of steady hunting to find mine. Then it just popped up at a dealership an hour away. Out of the Blue. We were the first people there. We opened it up, so to say. We looked inside and looked at the window sheet and was amazed at all the features and packages.
I have an ecodiesel Ram until I put the Banks derringer/pedal monster on it, it had the throttle response of a tractor. Now it drives like its got a meaty V8 in it. To all my friends that own Wranglers... get one of these. Thank me later.
Flashing the Pepsi GMT eh? No longer repping those poverty watches. Dude can't help himself 🤣
Fall, wherever they film, is beautiful
Finally! Jeep has been promising this powerplant for decades! Now if they just make a 2 door Gladiator with this engine!!!!! I've owned 4 Wranglers!
Do NOT get a manual if you plan on making it the “daily” the 6 speed sucks in wranglers 😖
it doesnt feel mechanical as the jk i know id get anoyyed with the feeling for a while so thats why i got a automatic
@@michealcorleone665 i only drove my buddies jk briefly it felt smoother and less crappy for sure. But i had my transmission and clutch replaced by 900 miles. 2nd gear went out on my JL. Heater core was faulty and would get coolant fumes in the cab. And now have traction control issues. 😂
I got a 5 spd TJ with a 4.0L and every week it sees the trails with my other buddies in a local TJ owner club. 230k miles no major problems at all, and still on the original clutch. I was gonna get a 2015 JK until I heard things about it that makes me decide just to stick with the TJ and make an effort to find a CJ instead
This is my first “new” vehicle. Used to have a 88 ranger 4x4. it was way more comfy and reliable than this lifted fiat has been so far lol. They sure dont make em how they used to.
They say in this video that it's only available in auto
Can you guys do the silverado 3.0 diesel i know you guys have done the sirrea but I would love the silverado thanks 😊
I own a 2018 4 door JLU. Its such a fun vehicle. I am tempted by the diesel.
The KJ had this roof thing here. That was a disaster. Now its it's back.
Its still so cool though
I’m so savage, I get to StraightPipes videos before RUclips sends me a notification

Just came across your channel and love the reviews. Subscribed.
By the way jeep updated the steering box and power steering pump software to fix some of the steering problems from earlier JL/JTs. So it's not due to the rubicon's tires
No need for snow tires for me! I live in Alabama where the state will shut down from 4 inches of snow. It will melt and then freeze on the roads
is that Diesel Engine a American or Italian made ???
italy vn motori
i’m pretty sure it’s the Mercedes OM642 engine
@@charlesdr1981 i think the same but i´m not sure.
@@andreiprisacaru550 i don´t think that´s a Mercedes Motor ?
It itamerican.
Lol 72k, I'll keep my 4runner which tows more and is 30k cheaper and will last waaaaay longer.
first choice the Hemi 392 JLUR. but they are 100k and all sold. second the Bronco wildtrak but all sold until 2022. third the JLUR Diesel but at 65,000 US dollars it is a bit pricey but at lease you can get one.
@11:40 Yuri switched to a manual Gladiator Mojave. Nice.
Doug saw this and said, let me drop the Bronco video
CA$ 72385
US$ 55000
I'm guessing the boys had a change of heart on the 718 Spyder/Boxter. 8:22.
Would you rather have this or C8 Corvette?
Thank god someone finally mentioned how annoying the manual great is in wranglers ..
Just about every 4x4 and pickup in Australia is diesel. Diesel torque is addictive. The 0-100 times are handicapped by the first gear.
wish there were more diesels in the market, and I hate that when a manufacturer does bring one they usually only offer it on the higher trim levels.
I think you guys are the best reviewers out there.
rocking a rolex GMT master II ! 🔥🔥🔥
Yuri and Jakub: make sure you guys get your winter tires cold weather coming soon!
Me: Laughs in Floridian
I've had a lot of Wranglers in the past, but now I love the Gladiators more. Did you notice when you turn on the Sahara and the animation goes from the 41 Jeep to the new Jeep a Gladiator cruises across the bottom instead of a Wrangler. I have the 21 Gladiator High Altitude and will love overlanding with it. I choose the gas V6 because it is cheaper all around and easier to maintain. No def fluid etc. 3 quarters of the world is covered by water and Jeeps cover the rest. 🌊🌈🎉🇺🇸😎
What you like more about the gladiator?
It's the Wrangler for me, in blue!
The music at the beginning of the video is as if I am watching a documentary about snakes
It's a song by David Attenborough

Great drivetrain! I had an Ram 1500 4WD with it and I loved that truck.
You should do a series of subscriber cars that a lot if I’m not sure if it’s been recommended before but it would be cool to see some older or slightly different cars. Great video
Any vehicle with a blue exterior and beige/brown interior makes me go MMM! Looks so good!
“Cool diesel sound”???
The intro music ALWAYS suits the car they are going to review🎶 🚗
Yes, Tim the Toolman Taylor reference! Totally made that same reference the other day
actually the issue with small steering inputs on the highway is an allignment issue not really the tyres...
yes the tyres do affect overall geometry but caster and mainly toe affect the sensibility of the inputs specially ln the highway (toe in makes it understeer more requiring less inputs and toe out makes it easier to oversteer and the caster makes the steering self center when you leave it)
Don't like wranglers, or gladiators and I'll definitely never own one.. but this is great that they put the diesel in there.
72K CAD for this.. Jesus.. That is insane money. As much as I think Jeeps are cool that is a massive commitment. I think the Gladiator is cooler looking myself as well, and I would choose the diesel option for sure. Love the Speed Academy representing as well!!
How about diesel engine reliability?
I love my 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee EcoDiesel got less torque then the new ones but still fun to drive around a Grand Cherokee with a diesel. Gonna get a tune once someone gets a CARB approved one through. Only problem with EcoDiesels then and now is they're incredibly expensive options (have to include the transmission up charge as well ~$6000)
the ecodeisel is made in italy with most of the other fiat engines. It has a ton of problems including coolant that can crystalize and brick the engine.
The + & - on the shifter is oriented the right way!!
