I'm pretty sure the liquid sponge immediately sucks up any liquid wet sponge that gets created, which is a funny little interaction and explains why the wet sponge that was being made never got in the way of the normal sponge.
@@xenird I’m sure with some coding it could work, I assume the mod has a list of supported blocks or something, where you could possibly just add the other liquified blocks.

I've never really gotten to appreciate the sponges in modern day Minecraft like the Minecraft Classic ones, but I gotta say, these modded liquid sponges sure are capable of something, practical or not.
The infinite liquid sponge is basically a visualization of a Gray Goo scenario. Which if you don't know is "Gray goo (also spelled as grey goo) is a hypothetical global catastrophic scenario involving molecular nanotechnology in which out-of-control self-replicating machines consume all biomass (and perhaps also everything else) on Earth while building many more of themselves" (Taken from the Gray Goo article on Wikipedia.
You should try to see if you can get all blocks that flow like water to work with the physics mod that makes the ocean realistic. Might crash the pc if it works though
The reason why it seems to cascade and deform so much is because liquids become platforms for eachother. Normally if you have a 2 high water source, it will cascade in a 1 wide channel, because they mix. But if you have a liquid snow and liquid stone, the stone will fall in a 1 wide channel, and then snow will fall in a 1 wide channel after the stone. Thus it becomes a 2 wide channel. If you have a stone-snow-wood-leaf-snow, it extends 5 blocks after the drop
"It's hard to explain. I want to say that it was like everything was underwater, but it was more than that. It was like everything around us was part of the water itself. When you looked up, you didn't see a surface. It just went on forever. And the trees? The boathouses? They weren't solid. They were just a different sort of liquid. Even when you stood on the ground, it was kind of like you were swimming in it, because the ground was liquid. Except you didn't actually have to swim. And even though everything was water, you could still tell that there was a lake there. As if the lake was a purer form of liquidness..." - SCP-1861
