    Love, Sloan, Van Lier, Chet Walker, Artis Gilmore... these guys were so much fun to watch, one of the most passionate group of team players in NBA history. Bob Love and Chet Walker were right behind Michael and Scotty as a Bulls dynamic duo. Sloan and Van Lier were a very close third

    • @chicagorhtours
      @chicagorhtours 2 месяца назад

      Yes, those were great, I loved the 1970s Bulls. But, IMO Van Lier cost us at least one NBA championship - that 7 game series against Rick Barry's Golden State Warriors. Van Lier just couldn't score. Sure he was tough on defense, but IMO I was a better pure outside shooter, and had more effective offensive moves. Van Lier would just drive the lane, then get caught up off his feat, couldn't get the shot off and then through bad passes.
      In that best of 3 series against Bill Walton and Maurice Lucas NBA Championship Portland Trailblazers 1977, our Bulls lost a very closely fought 2-1 series. Van Lier was something like 3 -20 from the field. John Mengelt was much better, Wilber Holland was scoring and Mickey Johnson had an AMAZING series. Artist Gilmore played Walton at least even.

      The only bright spot for Lebron when he was carrying those Cavaliers teams and The Land in the league and overcoming the trash front office and owner, sadly he got mostly the crippled years from Zydrunas while Lebron was mostly very young, and definitely he couldn't have done much to help 22 years Lebron, when he went all the way to face those Spurs dynasty teams and in their prime, even if he played good.
      Most importantly though, he was the best friend of his in those teams, and the only one player/veteran in the beginning locker room and Cleveland days, when the kid was given the mission to save and lead everything, to talk and help Lebron. When Lebron departed Big Z followed him, they went together to the Heat before him retiring (of course Lebron attended his jersey retirement ceremony in Cleveland, I wonder how they'll look when it'll be Lebron's turn and old Big Z will be there).
      Underrated bromance, especially iconic ''ethnicities bromance'' of course.

    Hey Andy, I'm a subscriber for years now, excellent video once again. I have a video idea.
    Since The Last Dance Documentary released, I've seen a lot of disrespect towards Lebron on social media.
    We all know that a player alone can't win a championship. And that was an obstacle even for Jordan until Pippen arrived. People forget how important Pippen was for the Bulls and how much he contributed to those 6 championships along side Jordan.
    So, I was wondering if you could make a video explaining the importance of Pippen on those Bulls teams.
    Pippen gets forgotten a lot, and Lebron receives unfair critism. So it would be nice and refreshing to see a video by a big RUclipsr which will explain how crucial it is to have a good team around you no matter who you are.
    I hope you see this and consider it
    Peace

    Very good video!!!
    I remember the first time I heard about R. Theus....Back in 1993 in Greece ....it was the last part of a nearly 10-year dominance of Aris Thessaloniki in hellenic basketball. Nick Galis had left. The team , behind P. Giannakis, included Roy Tarpley as the first foreign player of the two allowed (the other was JJ Anderson). Τhe team won the Eurocup, lost the Hellenic championship (first time from 1984) and just before the Greek Cup's Final, Tarpley left the team. So, Aris signed just for one game R. Theus. Ηe had a 9-point game ....

Of course, Jordan led the Bulls to great success, but without the Bulls players who came before him, the franchise might not have survived until 1984 to draft Jordan.

Just had the misfortune of playing in Western Conference with the Bucks and the Lakers. The Clifford Ray for Nate Thurmond trade however did not work out that well.

    It's hard to explain, but I know I share a similar frustration with millions like me. If you're from a small town in like Iowa, which I was, and a very good player, your perception is the same as a kid from a major city who is very good there. My main problem was liking basketball more than other sports. I could get in "a zone" where for a whole half I couldn't miss from 25 feet, sideline stuff. But I stopped growing after 8th grade at 5'9". I never was comfortable dribbling up the court. I had short fingers and was always worried I'd mishande the ball. Oh well, cry cry cry. I did make 90/100 free throws once. Yippee. Always loved sports! Walt Frazier was my idol. Damn he was cool "Clyde"!
