Hard to say, the closer to the first game the better as far as I'm concerned, but Ken might not want to remake the same game. He was behind Infinite, but I wasn't a big fan because it was just too far removed from Rapture.
Still knowing the information that he's not coming back is sading but that won't stop me from playing BioShock over and over again and if Judas is any good then I will and that to the list and of course play Bioshock 4
Did everyone forgot how so many people said working with Ken is god awful. My guess is he had some key people that were instrumental in creating bioshock and now they aren’t around
The same saying goes for Steve Jobs. Not comparing the two though, but I guess there are some cost for one's such creativity mindset. Ken's game design has always been unique among the industry.
Too bad that Ken was overwhelmed by the success of the Bioshock franchise. His guidance will, I'm sure, be sorely missed! I can only hope that his replacements can fully understand the whole Bioshock concept. John Shirley, writer of Rapture, would be a good addition because he truly "got" the Rapture atmosphere and feel in that novel. How long can we hold our breaths here at the bottom of the North Atlantic? (Lolz!)
As sad as this is i support Ken's decision, he gave me 3 great games that i still play to this day and although it's almost heartbreaking to hear he will have no hand in the bioshock 4 gumbo i am happy he is choosing happiness and his health over money and more wealth, we love you Ken Levine
@@TheBioshockHub they're probably too afraid to say anything until release bc of criticism, they're basically taking on Ken Levine's legacy and feel too pressured or maybe they don't need the criticism at this point they're at because they need some head space, like implied, the new team has some pretty big shoes to fill so ik they're feeling the pressure

Yeah, I believe I've heard the story about Ken Levine needing to let go of Bioshock for his Physical and Mental health, and to be honest I can kind of understand that PS Judas showed up as "Just Announced" on the PS5 Store. I added it to my Wishlist for now
Hey wsp everyone how is everyone doing today and Yes we need a new bioshock please that would be great and amazing new IP and Bioshock looking forward to it.
If Ken is in any way is mentioned/ involved in the new Bioshock the sales will skyrock so in a comercial perspective it’s genius to have him involved 👍
Completely understandable reason why he stopped continuing Bioshock. But I think it’s best if we just continue on being patient with Cloud Chamber and wait for that decent moment where they release a teaser trailer of the game.
Hes reaction is understandable. Hopefully Clockwork Revolution will fill the void. That looks really good. At first, I thought it was the new bioshock.
1 was a breath of fresh air in every way for the genre and was beloved by almost everyone who gamed then 2 had great action but felt more like it was for everyone who wanted to “be a big daddy” which was cool but the story, POIs, and character design was missed from the first, Sander, Ryan, there was stuff that made it feel like home but I really Loved how kind the 2nd Narrator was, that he was refreshing yeah Big sister was cool but that’s all I can recall fondly. The thicc splicers were a good add too. Sadly There is a big difference between the 2010 gameplay trailer and 2013 release of Infinite. While I was excited to have Infinite I didn’t appreciate that so much cool shit was rearranged to be a “this is an alternate universe” it was nice seeing 2010 Elizabeth at the end of the game but besides Bookers voice and her outfit 😂 even the Weapon gameplay looked better and I can definitely see what Levine means by making it more appealing to a wider audience because 2013 release was fun but it’s something I’d never revisit.
Weird as soon as I replay the bioshocks you come out with this video. Wtf. Screw infinite though. I’m a rapture kinda guy. Has that spooky vibe to it. Plus the setting is unbeatable
I think it'd be better if Ken Levine doesn't get involved with the next BioShock. There's nothing wrong with that, but I think what happened with BioShock Infinite was that Ken over-did it. I'll admit there are flaws with Infinite, and I wished that Burial at Sea Episode 1 could've been longer. Even though I'm not a developer, and don't know much about the gaming industry, the problem I think, and don't take it the wrong way, say what you want, but I think that Ken had the whole weight on his shoulders during the time he was making Infinite. BioShock Infinite could've been developed by Harvey Smith (Dishonored, Dishonored 2), Jordan Thomas (BioShock 2, South Park: The Stick of Truth), Steve Papoutsis (Dead Space series), Amy Hennig (Uncharted trilogy 1-3), or Mikael Kasurinen (CONTROL). Each of them might have done a different job with BioShock Infinite and let Ken Levine stepped down as creative director. And also, don't take it the wrong way, I think during that time he was doing those press runs for Infinite in time of the game's release. I wish he had limited those press interviews and let the game speak for itself. While we wait for Cloud Chamber's unleash for the next BioShock game, I'll be looking forward to Ghost Story Games unleash of Judas to see what Levine has in store for us.
I’m kinda surprised that now with the next gen consoles and more processing horsepower you’d think they’d (developers) want to stretch they’re muscle now given the chance
I'm cautiously optimistic about Judas, if only because imo I don't feel much good will from Levine with how Burial at Sea was written. I'm hoping with Cloud Chamber and the next BioShock game that they don't feel constrained themselves on what to do for a BioShock game. Infinite's story as a standalone opened up the possibilities for the franchise to be more an anthology series, sharing common elements but not needing to follow things set up in any of the other games to a T. Pick a city, pick a philosophy or belief or social structure to take to an extreme, and watch everything collapse under its own weight.
I've seen some early reviews of people who played the game and they also shared some clips..ngl it looks very promising, even saw an interview with Ken and he was very much excited about it.
Judas looks like another Bioshock game, wierd, woke, hand with elemetal powers, automatons, folk music, so, he clearly didn't run away from makeing another Bioshock game. Since the original Irrational Games founders have been ousted, and Lavine is the new company only founder, it would be interesting to know who will own the IP of the new game, since K2 owns Bioshock, that could reveal a real reason for the restructuring.
Can’t blame him. I understand the mentality of where you are a person who gets somewhat irritated by the same thing being made over and over and just wanting to make something different
I hope they don't even make a new bioshock game so you can stop doing these videos and move on. Things ain't the same and gaming kinda sucks now with all the lack of creativity and remakes but I guess you can dream. Anyway yeah I doubt there will be a new bioshock just to put the suspense to rest, what we had was a masterpiece and now the devs don't want to touch it and I'm sure it cost tons of money to make a bioshock game for us but the new fans that don't care about or even know what bioshock is might make cloud studios or whomever is making it go out of business either that or like I said it's not coming out anyway.
How different do you think Bioshock 4's development process would be if it were being developed by Irrational/Ghost Story Games and Ken Levine?
Hey Erik I received the stuff. Thanks I appreciate it.

Poor guy. At least he recognized his burn out and stopped before his health got worse
Better to stop while you're ahead than to dig yourself into a deeper hole.

Well, Judas is essentially a bioshock game from the looks of it.
As for 2K Marin they aren't around anymore the studio was defunct back in 2013
Bioshock 2 was the best one imo
Wait there's a new bioshock? When's it rumoured to show? Bioshock 1 is a classic, I want that kinda feel back
