Oh, god, thank you *BMrider75* - so I was not the only one! :) My neck hurts and it's the first time when I'm glad that it was just less than six minutes video, not sixteen or something like that, because I'd look like a vulture now. :P
Quite impressive to see someone waving him past even on the very first lap. Good use of mirrors and/or watching the blue flags. Plus a healthy dose of common sense - Sam Tordoff was clearly on a mission after stalling on the line.
Blue flag on the first lap? That flag means the one coming from behind is a lap or more in front of you. Everybody on the first lap they are racing for position and then there are no blue flags.
Okrasa Ghia No, the blue flag is to advise that there’s a faster car bearing down on you, eg one in a higher class, and that you might wish to give it space.
Yeah, this totally played out like an early level of Gran Turismo where they start you at the back and you have to win the race in under 5 minutes by passing a bunch of sunday cruisers.
I'm glad to see this porsche still has its original dashboard ash tray . You can tip the ash from your capstain full strength into it on a long straight .
Now that guy drove like he stole that car and he missed first place by a half a car length and credible. Only one other Porsche came close to giving him a race and almost hit him twice . Legendary driving
I cannot help wondering how close to "standard racing spec" that 365 was!? Wonderful drive but the car was so much the fastest in the field. Look at the practice times.
Thats the mystery part. Goodwood claims its only original cars with exactly the right specs for their time, no replicas etc etc.... but the field is full of replicas, rebuilds etc...
Let's not forget, these are incredibly expensive vintage cars, and few of the owners are willing to risk crashing their own vehicle. So when one guy pushes his car to 10/10, he's going to appear to be a racing genius. These aren't real races.
You may want to watch a few of the other videos from Goodwood - these guys race the balls off them, whether it's £3mil 250GTOs, E Types, Cobras, American muscle cars or priceless Can Am cars. Crashes, shunts and spins are common and cars often come out looking distictly battered...
real?..........they are very real.............all hi level pro stuff maybe not, but many of the drivers are hi level guys. And they are trying to save the machines from damage yes, but they are going hard....very hard
I have limited track experience - with a Miata - but know that beyond a certain point - maybe 80% - you are in a forbidden zone where the car is being pressed to the breaking-point. It’s not worth it unless you have unlimited money to fix it. Especially with such high-value collector cars.
That bloomin' sun visor obscuring the camera view!
I was squashing my chin into my chest trying to peer under it!
Smiles. (Fab driving though)

What a quick little rig, and he's drivin the wheels off of it....dude knows how to handle that car very well 👍
Felt like one of those scenes from the original Herbie the Love Bug. Epic, indeed!
Like gran tourismo when your car has 200hp more than the rest of the field!

Equally impressive as the drive, was the entire field being able to avoid the stalled car on the start.
yeah just like in xbox forza, or not rather.

Older drivers are simply less likely to make rookie mistakes. They all know that you can't win a race in the first lap, but you can lose one.

That’s not how you spell blunt
Well done. Forever in history.
Passed them as if they were on a warm up lap!
He really earned that pole position, great video!
Now that's a man with a mission. Love it.
Looks like half the pack were on a parade lap!?
Lol
Now that guy drove like he stole that car and he missed first place by a half a car length and credible. Only one other Porsche came close to giving him a race and almost hit him twice . Legendary driving
Wow unreal great driving skills.
The "drive it like you stole it" definitions were updated.
This is me playing Need For Speed Porsche Unleashed :-)
I cannot help wondering how close to "standard racing spec" that 365 was!? Wonderful drive but the car was so much the fastest in the field. Look at the practice times.
Not to mention, he wasn't even thrashing it, just nice clean smooth lines, car didn't even sound like it was working hard.
Gorgeous!!!
When the guys out for a drive meet the guy out for the win
I had a 1953 Porsche. They had a 36 hp VW engine....mine had a 1964 SC engine. This car has something bigger
Thats the mystery part. Goodwood claims its only original cars with exactly the right specs for their time, no replicas etc etc.... but the field is full of replicas, rebuilds etc...
Should have put the sun visor up. I couldn't see where you were going. Magnificent drive.
Yupp or should've given us the footage from the other onboard camera
When you're playing Forza, but you're bored, so you put the drivatars in the "inexperienced" setting
Hahahaha. It's like this on hard for me when I decide its go time 😅
wow that was really cool
Beast mode.
He just wanted to give the Lads a chance. Good show
Not sure how many of these are repli racers, but they sure are beautifully maintained.
Amazing driving! Not over aggressive too! One really don’t need to go 300 km/h to have fun!
Slice and dice....like a Cuisinart. Well done.
That was epic!!!
Bond, James Bond
It’s pretty clear he has far more straight line speed than most of the others
Someone has massaged the motor and the suspension. Mine were notoriously tail happy and rather slow.
Epic I tell you
Carried speed 👌
Was this a 356? Great drive anyway!
Flatout me trouxe aqui
I thought only pro-racing drivers were racing these cars, he looked like a LMP1 driving past others, as if they let him.
And it can also be seen at 1:20 that other 356's have the same straight line speed. I don't know. Looks weird.
He had much more commitment than the rest of the field. He drove it like he stole it
he took the curves at higher speeds than the rest
also he pressed the brake much later
If you've got the horsepower you can do a lot with it !
Great recovery but the performance disparity between many of these cars leaves the term 'racing' to be a misnomer.
👍👍👍👍👍👍 Well done, mate👍👍😎😎😎
Just like a Chicago freeway. #impressive
How much horses?180?
the only dislike was from someone on the track that got passed LMAO
"Onboard Tordoff"; unusual name; Russian, perhaps?
English.
The way he over takes big block Jag XKs that bathtub must be packing a Carrera 2 twincam 😳🤣✌️👍🇺🇲☮️
He pretty much said let me get back to where I was
Fun to watch but that Porsche has a lot more sniff than the rest of the field - where were the scrutineers?
How did he finish?
Do you think that was Herbie recycled? Those other cars might as well have been going backwards.
His engine n his skills were both superior to everyone's on that track that Day 🤓
Is that a Carrera?
Это наверное профи среди любителей жарит
So there were two guys that were ready to actually push it🤷🏼♂️
he really did fly past them hahaha just like easy difficulty
I think they are letting him pass because they know the car.
Hmmm, seems others were out for a spirited drive and he was the only one really pushing it.
Doesn’t look like the other cars were even at race pace for the first lap or so
Most drive like getting the Sunday papers..
He's driving past 1930's cars for
I noticed a lot of fellow 1950's vehicles. His 356 did sound great, super-tuned...
That wasn't a race it was a parade.
1600cc?
When you notice the go pro box is empty 🤭
When GT car have a painted dash ,were small, light, not very powerfull, but fun to drive and have an ashtray.
This dude had nitrous 😉😉😉😉
yes, bottle was found in trunk
Kinda ruins the myth of starting position
Well... its a porsche.
Where's this track??
Goodwood.
Thanks :)
UK
@@jollyrodger5319 yes I know;) great thanks man;)
nfs porsche 2000
Don't think it's a matter of Tordoff being quick, it's more a case of the vast majority couldn't drive sheep!.

That result should give the scrutineers something to do. Things that make you go Hmm!

Sounds like a V-8
Wot
Flat four POWER!
Not heard my V8s then.........
v8....yikes...no it does not..lol
