Have you thought about restricting the chimney outlet top for thermette? Keep the heat in more.

No. I havent. The trangia is about the same size as the top vent. I guess restrictions on the chimney could help. I do believe its just too big for the trangia

Hope all are well. I remember reading a story years ago about some troops during WW2 that used the water-cooling jacket on their Browning water cooled machine gun to heat water for tea or coffee when they fired the thing. Seems they came up with a different set of hoses and container that they trusted not to make them sick and it worked fairly well. You just needed the Japanese to attack at teatime I guess. Don't know if it is true or not, but it does appear to me that it would have worked. I'm pretty sure soldiers in the field had to be "field expedient" in their thinking at times and work with what they could find. Take care.

Hehe thats clever. I also heard of soldiers using aritllery shells full of urine to cool the barrels down.
You would not want to get the containers mixed up

@@bagheerasadventures Let us hope they did not confuse the jugs. LOL. When I saw the video of the heater thing a while back it reminded me of the story as it looks a bit like a barrel poking out of the water jacket to me. Yeah, peeing on the tubes in the heat of battle for me would have been an impossibility I bet. I mean unless I literally had the piss scared out of me and I hear it happens. I don't really want to know and I'm thankful my years working for the uncle were in between years I guess one could say.

@@bagheerasadventures or my old ladies coffee. hah! don't tell her I said that. Seems even loading a single serve pod she can make it bitter. Must be the love.

How about putting the trangia to one side under the water tank instead of under the chimney 😊
