The release is crucial for accuracy, speed, distance and consistency! Nail it and you’ll definitely see a major improvement in your game. Trust me, if you follow everything in this video you will play better golf! Oh and don’t forget to send this to your buddy… just so they don’t lose too badly to you next time! 😉
Great lesson, and I love the advice. I favour a roll release which seems to give me straighter shots with less effort than other methods I’ve experimented with. There’s a lot of conflicting advice out there so thanks for providing clarity on this topic! I really appreciate the way you provide a roadmap for improvement.
Yes, there is loads of conflicting information out there, but I’m glad this video helped. It’s all data back so you won’t go wrong with the information in here.
Your video just puts the finishing touch on a good swing! Nice explanation... In the downswing, when my lead arm is parallel to the ground, my clubface is slightly closed... sounds like I'm a body releaser... and I like the thought of shaking hands with the target in the release. From Vegas, I love the feedback... was on the range today and, at 81, I'm really focused on your superb video content. I was stationed at RAF Greenham Common in the 80s and enjoyed the courses in England; my game has improved immensely since finding and implementing your wonderful instruction. Many thanks Giles. That’s amazing to hear that you have been working on your game! Also great to hear that you were stationed in England and I hope you enjoyed it over there
As a senior golfer Giles, although I feel my body does get involved somewhat in my swing, I think I have more of a forearm release! Would you recommend this for me? In any event Giles, you have cleared a few things up for me with my own swing! Well Done Lad!
Maybe im late to the game but what brand is that shirt? Ive seen borgmeier, you, and a fee others with it but have no idea what to search for online. Great video btw!
I understand the theory of all this however the issue I have is when you start full swings this drill is teaching you to have your arms “straight after impact” which ultimately leads to chicken wings when swinging at full speeds. Should there not be an element of “unhinging” after the ball has been hit and releasing the club? I don’t feel this drill does that and therefore doesn’t really teach you how to release the club. Maybe I’m wrong?
Of course but the arms unhinging straightens them & then they refold later on in the follow through. The way you do this is by straightening the arms as you twist the forearms as demonstrated
