I used to struggle with the "Loved ones going to Hell" topic but have found some comfort in one of Father Mike Schithz videos where he mentions that “God is bound to the Sacraments, but he is not bound by the Sacraments.”

For the first person, Amber’s answer is valid and I’m sure many women feel that way but there’s also a level of variation on opinions about that. I personally wouldn’t like for someone to try to be my friend when what they really want is a romantic relationship. As a woman I don’t like the vague territory of ‘hanging out’ or friendship with ulterior motives when the person actually wants to date, I like when men are clear, but it seems that some women agree with this and other women find it unnerving. I guess mixed reception is just the nature of dealing with other people. Part of it could be that I don’t intentionally keep male friendship unless it’s from childhood/family ties, which I know is a position not many people agree with. It could also be that I view dating as the stage of getting to know someone, so not knowing someone well before the first date is just fine to me, but Amber’s point about women looking out for their safety is very true as well. I’m no one to give advice tbh, literally no one, just talking about how there will be a mixed bag on how the approach is received.

"How can a guy marry a girl if he can't even be her friend" - me

As someone (probably; it would explain SO much) on the spectrum, "friends before dating" feels like multiplying awkwardnesses. What I really want is to get married; I've reluctantly accepted that this culture doesn't have a way to find and persuade a suitable person other than dating. Being "just friends" with a woman I'm interested in for months is completely beyond me.
On the other hand, I would want to take things, in general, VERY slowly on the physical side. Between moral/religious reasons, not wanting to confuse my judgment, and just not liking strangers touching me, I don't picture there being much evidence of it being "dating" for the first few outings. Other than the label and me paying. Which makes the disagreement mostly semantic, I guess.

I just typed all that, and then wondered for a few minutes if the word count would look angry or confrontational, and whether I could trim some fat or should just delete it all...

My parents and my priest (I'm Orthodox) have been happily married for decades. It seems to me that they would know better than me or my hypothetical girlfriend who is a good match.

The point of dating is to get to know them?

Point of friendship is to get to know them. The point of dating is to know them well enough to know whether or not youd marry them

I question your statement "God has someone in mind for you" (21m:19s). It seems predestination. Also, we are not all called to be married. WouldN,t you say that God's plan for us it to love oneanother and Him, and live according to Church teaching, and finding a good spouse is just a way to actuate that?

Considering how much she has emphasized discernment of the religious life in the past; I would assume she ment that specifically for those called to marriage
