    These slow videos where you’re breaking down each posture are some of the most useful yoga videos on RUclips!
    Thank you for spending the time to identify each nuance, I feel I’ve broken through a plateau after slowly watching and practicing.
    I’d love to see a Marichyasana tutorial 🧘‍♂️🧘🧘‍♀️

    Awesome!
    I feel that going into Virabhadrasana turning the foot first elevates the hip so its easier to step the food forward...well that's what I've seen.
    Also as a teacher I ask them to step and then I say lift your arms as you breath in and I believe it works.
    thank you for sharing!

    Nice! 🤗
    When I had my first Ashtanga class, my teacher told me to do 5 Surya Namaskar A and 5 Surya Namaskar B. I have kept it the same until today. Just wondering if there is any reason for practicing 5 A and 3 B and where these numbers come from. Thanks & hugs!

    • @DavidandJelenaYoga
      @DavidandJelenaYoga  Год назад +1

      Hi Sabau, Thanks for being here. Years ago it used to be 5 A and 5 B, but it has changed to 3 B for some time now. When we teach new students, we have them do 5 (or more) A and at least 5 B until they have them memorized. Perhaps that's what your teacher was doing as well :)

    • @alextaws6657
      @alextaws6657 2 дня назад

      @@DavidandJelenaYoga thank you so much! I was wandering the same thing, because I also was taught 5 A and 5 B. Is it ok to continue with 5 B or would you recommend against it? (and, if it's not too much bother - why was 5 changed into 3?).
      And thank you so, so much for your fantastic videos, I can't express enough how much I appreciate you both sharing your deep knowledge with us! I thank the both of you in my mind/prayer after every practice!

      We have a few courses on our website that are what you're looking for.
      Go to www.davidandjelenayoga.com and go to courses. We have our signature course, Ashtanga for Beginners 30-day program which has classes for each day (30 days) and asana workshops as well daily. This course covers the entire half primary series.
      The other course would be our Ashtanga Morning Show which has a 30 minute class every day. This course covers sun salutations and the fundamental asanas plus last 3 closing.

    Thank you very much David and Yelena for such valuable information that you share, I have a question, is vinyasa inhalation from 6 to 7 during the entire transition?

    • @DavidandJelenaYoga
      @DavidandJelenaYoga  Год назад +1

      Hey Leo, thanks for your kind feedback. Yes, on supta (7) the right leg steps forward, arms up all on one inhale (this is the ideal). Of course, in the beginning, or for however long, you may need to take more than one breath and that's totally okay and normal. We use the vinyasa count as a guide so that we know what we're working toward, that's all 💙
