- Switching up the wheels on my BMW 1M! We're going through the motions to make this an epic little machine, and with new tyres very much needed, this is the right time to mix up the rims in the process. With a trip to Whoops Wheel Fix It in the works, what do you think of my choice!?
Having bought the BMW 1 Series M Coupe last year, it was the cheapest in the country with 94,000 miles and fortunately not too much hiding under the skin. However, like with my Clio V6, we're going to turn it into something mega and so far that has included a full inspection and service, installing a Droid UK infotainment system, and most recently a Quaife ATB Differential at Birds - which thankfully fixed the clunking issue we had beneath.
Up next comes a visual change in the form of the wheels. Up to this point the car has been running on a set of tyres from 2016 which absolutely had to be replaced. Given this need to take them all off anyway, a quick two plus two became four, and we're at Whoops to get them repainted. An obvious choice might be to go gloss black, or something really out there to match the Valencia Orange bodywork, or perhaps, the choice I've gone for...
A colour I really like is Porsche's Neodyme gold, and that's exactly what we've done! However, there's a bit of twist to give them a different finish to standard. I'm over the moon with the result, although it'll be interesting to hear your feedback as choices like this are always immensely personal and opinionated.

Yeah, it's gotten really bad here. I usually skip ahead if it's a small change like here. Luckily I have adblock. At least the journeys are intresting enough to not skip.

The wheel paint is gorgeous but that does not go well with the car color, should've kept it as is. But hey, to each their own.

I love the colour! It’s refreshing and goes well imo
you need a neutral color usually with orange, but this can work (barely) as an autumn 'ensemble' if you add another brown-rich color
For me They was better in silver
A 30 min video to have a set of wheels refurbed is insane.
Wheels are nice no doubt but it doesn't match well with Valencia orange.

@@Shmee150as opposed to orange paint and gold wheels looking good? Usually color combos are a set thing. Called complimentary colors
I'm assuming you're gonna wrap the car in black or something, cause it's obvious those wheels don't look good with orange (and orange is my favorite color, love the 296)
That color really POPS! I’ll never be a fan of black wheels as I believe wheels should stand out and be a feature of the car, not hidden in the shadows. I always love the difference color combinations you do with your cars! It’s very refreshing and inspiring. Also I think matching the other details to the wheels would really tie it all together

Preferred the silver since I feel that color goes better with the burnt orange but hey…tastes differ. Experience has taught me that sometimes I just need more time to get used to it. Thanks for taking us thru the process,

If the car has incandescent bulbs just replace all of them, over time the total resistance drops too low. Had the same problem with my X6
