    You cannot drop the BCG on a double feed to clear it! You might accidently fire off a live round in the chamber from a FTE double jam, or a double feed! You need to see if you can file down your ARmaglock to allow you to still function that mag release with the bolt held back! It is the safest way!

  • @ValkerieSilk

    Question: Why are you unable to crack the upper enough when the bolt is in the charged position? I was under the impression that this was one of the crucial points to using the Kingpin with the Mag Lock Gen 4, so as to clear a malfunction (like a double feed that holds the bolt back) just as you would on a free state rifle?

    • @TheVarietyGuy
      @TheVarietyGuy 4 года назад

      I second this exact question.

    • @nai1817
      @nai1817  4 года назад

      On some you can. On mine, the upper and lower are so tight that the kingpin does not open the action enough to push the maglock through to release mag. AR Maglock said that over time, the action will open up. So far it hasn’t.

    • @DeltaSig80121
      @DeltaSig80121 4 года назад +3

      The maker of the AR Maglock has a video where he says you can take some sandpaper and shave the anodizing off of the AR Maglock tongue that sticks between the upper and lower when the action of the rifle is open. Personally, I tried waiting for things to "settle in" as the AR Maglock creator says will happen in some of his other troubleshooting vids. I lost patience and very carefully ground down the AR Maglock tongue until the black anodizing was worn off the top of the narrow tongue portion. Now the AR Maglock Gen 4 functions perfectly in my mil-spec BCM upper/lower carbine - it will not release the mag when the upper and lower are together, but will when the bolt is locked back and Kingpin actuated. I would recommend just using some sandpaper.

    • @nai1817
      @nai1817  4 года назад

      Marshall M I saw that too. I was a little hesitant to permanently modify anything but it does make sense. If the tongue was just a hair thinner or the gap was a hair wider, the maglock would work perfectly. I’m going to wait a couple more sessions and if it doesn’t open up more then I’ll try sanding the tongue. Worse case scenario, I have to buy another maglock.

    • @williamhavens471

      The Jug works with a gen 2 maglok ok but it is a pain in the ass if you move the pin incorrectly your loosening the castlenut and dis assembling your rifle to shove the detent back in its hole. The jug pin jams and the above is the only fix. The maglok kingpin is so much better and it also doesn't interfere with the safety levers.
