- Finally got time for home office improvement - standing desk.
To learn something new I decided to try veneering. First time was failure, second - quite ok. For glue up I used sprayable contact glue - if seemed simplest solution, as there is no need for clamps/ press.
Tabletop: Walnut veneered MDF
Legs: Swedstyle AERO 2.0 FLEX

Hi nice work were did you get your veneer from ?
Que trolleada... Esperando ver otra cosa...
Fabulous job. Well done!!
What’s the router jig called that you used to route out the rectangle recessed on the underside? It would be great for me to use on reinforcing C channels on my tables
Thanks
This is my dream desk top. The color and the pattern are perfect! How much is it?
Great woodworking, but I was waiting for the elevation part of the build...
legs are factory build - swedstyle aero 2.0 flex
I thought too! I was curious about a DIY electric part
Great project, what did you use to finish the veneer?
Milesi 2k PU
You did a very good job, congratulations master👏🏻👍🏻🇹🇷

wow, looks awesome! What gue did you use?
Hranifix smart
I know it hasn't been THAT long but how has the veneer held up as a desk surface? Considering doing something similar but worried about the longevity/abuse!
veneer holds well (I use desk daily as working desk)
congratulations on the job, what kind of wood is the laminate?from Buenos Aires Argentina
It is walnut

Old Thinkpad top
Fantastic video, thanks. Could you post a link to the router you are using?
bosch pof 1200 ae
Do you have any edge profile on the top? It looks like you have a roundover. If so, how did you achieve that with the veneer?
thick edge banding
This looks amazing, for the lesser skilled people like myself- anyone know where can I buy sth beautiful just this? (Just the table top)
Very cool! Please tell me what the lifting mechanism is
swedstyle aero 2.0 flex
looks fantastic. Real walnut would have cost you a couple grand here in the states
How think is that MDF? If it is 1" where do you find it?
Hi great job. How do you the elevation for the stand?
It is height adjustable desk frame - swedstyle aero 2.0 flex
Great work
What type of glue you used
Hranifix Smart contact adhesive
@@garage1168 thank you very much ♥️
What is the name of spray adhesive you used?
Hranifix Smart
just curious - why those cuts in corners (with wood plug) where needed?
At beginning there was a plan to make rounded corners, so these plugs would be exposed. But even after plan change these help not to expose mdf when veneer is sanded at corners.
This just needs the Benny Hill music 😂
Wow¡
What is the purpose of the inserts in the corners?
So he can slightly round the table corners without MDF showing out.
At begining I was planing to make corners with bigger radius, so those inserts would be exposed instead mdf. Also after rounding veneer at corner bottoms these inserts are exposed.

Where did you get that foot?
It is swedstyle aero 2.0 flex - got it from local distributor.
nice job, but next time add music
Glued with spray🙄🤧Such a nice table and you glue it with spray?!But why🙀
Why not? What is disadvantage of spraying contact glue comparing to applying it by brush/roller?
@@garage1168 I’ve try it.Simply but not hard enough that’s why!

Looks great, but I expect that your table top will be a banana soon as only one side is veneered... hope I won't be right
There is a chance of that. But as it is sealed from all sides + screwed to frame I believe it should stay straight. Time will show.
Well all i wanted to know was how the top layer meets the sides and you didnt show that
work on sides starts at 2:30. when all sides are glued up, then top layer is glued.
@@garage1168 Yeah but when i do that i can clearly see an unfinished edge of the top layer from the side :) Do you i blend that in with a router or something?
Why don't you also show the installation of the automatic in your video. So it's not a good and perfect Project! 😒😒
I used swedstyle aero 2.0 flex desk frame - just couple of screws to put it together

I’m sorry I can’t even watch past the preview as soon as I saw you messing around cutting all that M.D.F with no vacuum/dust extraction, and then you show your arm covered in the dust like that’s funny or clever🤨
Vacuum cleaner was not available at that time, but even with vac that circular saw makes too much dust to work without face mask.
