It seems so rare to hear musicians perform their work sooo damn well!! I normally avoid live music like the plague because it almost never comes out right live. There are maybe a handful of performances that I love the live renditions of and this is DEFINITELY one of them. Bravo!!
Sci fi music? wow love it, Daft Punk, now this - Jules Verne would be so thrilled :) and a guitar solo... we need more guitar solo's where they aren't gonna be expected, they always thrill!
the more live M83 I watch and the more I'm amazed..I never thought much of them, I thought their sound was basically production skills. but fuck me they can ALL play, very proficient musicians. the guitar solo was a jem
gotta say rewatching this, they were the highlights of this particular episode on jools Holland, and been playing this song non stop all this year. go get the album, its a purchase you won't regret
@Jen i still prefer the original but did like the remix because it sounded like something soulwax would do. do you have any cds or music of mai lan because she is incredible and yet criminally underrated, underplayed and criminally overlooked . her some blaze up, autopilote, vampire, and her albums are superb
@Jen here's hoping she comes with a new album soon, and though the pandemic is still raging i'd go see her in a heart beat if she was at the AB in Brussels :)

I have watched this video numerous times. I agree it is one of the best live songs I have ever seen and heard. It does seem to get better and better every time. I admit to running into by accident and was immediately struck by the two beautiful women Kaela and Mai Lan. My goodness! Don't tell my wife! Memorizing. This album was panned by music critics, but I thought it was incredible. I was glad to see them create a new album and tour this year. M83 is amazing. I hope they continue for a long time.
Man you really feel Steve Vai's absence in this performance. I mean this is a great song overall but that solo at the end just takes it to a whole new level.

I didn't think this kind of music would work live, but fuck me, they sound good in a live context.
it works both ways. a good sign because i love bands playing, not those fake pc musicians touching knobs on a mixer.
Still one of the best concerts I've ever been to. The Junk album is a bit underrated as well in my opinion, nothing sounds quite like it.
