That was TOO COOL! I had an opportunity to do the same thing about a year ago. A good friend of mine had a whole estate collection given to him and he called me to come pick what I wanted....so I did. I ended up with about 400 pieces of cars, locos, books, etc... to go along with my collection. Tell Dave I do Rock Island too but it is in HO....

I don't think I've ever seen that much HO rolling stock in one place before. What a nice haul. I've been working on scratch building a barn in O scale. It's almost finished, still have to install my beer can corrugated steel roof & weather the roof. Barn was weathered as I built it by using an emery board and sanding the faces of each board before installing. Cheers from eastern TN

That steam engine you found two hours in, looks like it's either a Tri Ang, or a Hornby, Caledonia single. A British passenger locomotive from the late 1800's. Did you find the tender to go with it? I ask because I think it was a tender drive, similar to the Tyco Chattanooga, but a good deal better quality. Good luck with the cleaning and sales, as it looks like a great haul. BTW as a kid I used to throw the whole wax bottle in my mouth, and chew like gum, and the juice made the wax taste better. Also you'd get all the juice out ,and not waste any flavoring.

OMG! What a collection of railcars! And you bought ‘em all! So now yer gonna be a traveling HO model train hobby shop! What a deal. What a concept. You could set up a schedule and travel the northern Great Plains buying, selling and repairing HO trains during the pleasant months. No need to have a fixed “brick and mortar” location if you enjoy traveling. And I don’t know about model train swap shows in your area, but if you had the notion you could schedule stops at them as well. Maybe Missus Ron would like to travel along with you and help out or see the sights. Kinda wish I could help you out with all those railcars but my ‘Road is pretty much established with motive power, rolling stock, non-revenue equipment, and passenger equipment. I just have no need for more equipment than I already have for my (imaginary) region of the country and on-line customers. But best wishes to you and your future endeavors!

I can relate a bit. I recently viewed a widow's husbands' collection of a former (low budget) museum/attraction in the town I live in. Predominately S with American Flyer but had a little of all scales. I thought to help her to connect with an option to sell or find new homes but find little local interest and it's all just too overwhelming for me to think about. I would love to check out every piece that is in that collection, but it would just turn into me caring and worrying about the future of every piece.

The model should have a small, 6 wheel tender and has been released in Caly blue, L.M.S. red and L.M.S. unlined black. Loco driven with the Mk.5 XT60 type motor. What a haul! @@danhoyland142 from what I understood, yes, and I was barely old enough to remember seeing any of it run and it's been years since I've been back to the city. But man they have some cool stuff and I'm looking and hoping for one for my birthday, the RI Aerotrain.

Wow - I thought I had a lot of trains ... that dude was a train hoarder. Back when you could buy blue box rolling stock for like $3.50/ea ... now they want $25-30. Insane. Good luck selling. I got to thin out my stuff. Enjoyed the video - thanks.

Insane. I'd kill to have that many freight cars, especially the PC ones.

Unbelievable collection Ron I'd be interested in the Richmond Fredericksburg and Potomac passenger cars. They would look awesome behind my Spectrum 4-8-2. Great video Ron love it.

Thats crazy that you have a old tour bus like that! You should do a DJ scene for an intro sometime. That'll be a great attention grabber haha. Good luck with your many ventures!

Ive thought about a layout in it but it's better suited as a RV. Mobile train store everything would fall off shelves with turns
