Thanks for the info. This was a good review of the product. Would love to have seen some in the field shots using this MagBeam and some of the accessories you mentioned it can be used with.

Hi, with the current pandemic I haven’t shot much bts in the field, but I’ll try to get some more of this done.

Great tests, those magnum reflectors that disappointed you are optimized for those strobes with a horseshoe shaped bulbs and are not made for the coilover style bulbs used in the AD200. If you ever get an AD400 or an AD600 the magnum reflector will magnify those bulbs 2x

I have an AD600 so I’ll have to test this one out and see the differences. Thank you!

Thx for this Ian! I was sh*tting all over the Magbeam....frustrated with the 'pattern projection'. But your use of a reflector and Magbeam (in a previous video) to fill during sunny days, was a revelation for me...haha. NIce!
I've been shooting some polevault recently and the way the sun tracks at the facility, their faces end up on the shadow side. I can't wait to try my MagBeam to fill some of that. Thanks again!

awesome, I’m glad I could help! I find I use the mag mod tele adapter as much to control light spill now as I do to improve power. Always learning new things, and then figuring out how to share them!

Try glow 70 degree magnum with ad-b2 it may increase about 1.5 stop output to my small reflector similar the one you use with one blub

Is the maggrip for ad200 could be used in nikon flash, sony speed light or on the other hand?

Yes. The Magnet Mod Accessories can be used on any brand of shoe mount or small flash of a similar size. They attach by a silicone band with magnets in it that stretches around the front of the flash.

Couple issues U never mentioned, U have 2 lens; how do U know which is wide vs. zoom? next the lens have smooth & rough side ; which way is correct?

Hi Anthony, you can tell the two lenses apart fairly easily, the wide angle lens has a small notch cut into it and the tele lens does not. With both lenses the correct way to install them is with the grooved or “rough” side facing inward toward the flash. Also something that I’ve learned is that the wide lens only works with the mag beam collapsed, and really only as a projector with a mag mask gobo installed. I’m still playing around with it though, will likely update as I figure out more. Hope this helps!
