Positive points on the 997.1 - off the lights its great flat 6 engine great to listen to especially at 30 mph, great car to look at Negative ; the ride is firm and you feel every bump, in the UK everyone wants to race you. Overall its a great car though
I totally agree with the "everyone wants to race you" comment. I'm in the States and have a 991.1 C4S, murdered-out black, and for some reason more than any other car, every Dodge Challenger/Charger wants to race, but so far, they can't hang.
Just bought a 997.1 carrera and love it. It rocks the house and it is showroom condition. all service records, paint corrected, new mufflers, new tires. Rock star.
This is what I'm aiming for a 997 c4s I've never driven 1 or any Porsche but I've been a fan since childhood of the look and I will buy 1 on looks alone one day...
Sounds like you’ve done your research. I came from m46 M3. Buddy has e92 m3. The m3 is a big step down as far as driving dynamics. I wouldn’t worry too much about bore scoring. At least I try not too. Use good oil (Motul or Gibbs racing), properly warm up the car, regular oil changes, good oil filter, etc.
I have a problem. Why people that feel nervous still drive such powerful cars. With all respect but this car deserve only experience drivers, chill and fast. Not furious and disturbed. In the end it comes to damage....
I like the older style feel, try driving with no power steering, no abs , esp, traction control etc etc , was just u your wit your gear changes and tyres holding u on the road , trying driving when u drive the shit out of your car the way it came out of the factory , the youth of today lol, they have all the gear and no idea 😂😂😂👍🏻👍🏻
Sounds like a 911 apologist to me. I purchased my 911 turbo because I love everything about it. I might add, when was the last time Ferrari won a race in the last 50 years? Cause Porsche has won a lot. Also a Porsche 911 (911 GT2RS) currently holds the fastest lap time at the Nurburg ring by a full 4.7 seconds... that's a lot incase you don't know. Anyone who says Porsche's aren't supercars/hypercars are lying to themselves.
Holy hell -- It's a Porsche, not a brittle piece of dinnerware. He drives like a 90 year old grandma. Use the car and GIVE IT THE FUCKING BEANS, MAN!!! GIVE IT THE BEANS!!!

if you owned a charger or something like that it will MASSIVELY depreciate.my friend just bought a super clean 1 owner charger rt hemi for $12000 with 70k,they were 40-50 new if not more and now they are literally worthless.
I think you are under estimating the 911 4S. Even if I had the option of someone giving me Ferrari versus a 911, I still personally to a 911. I driven four of them and I love them. I've never owned one though, maybe one day
@@solitudeguard5688 well the GT2 is an amazing car but way out of my budget. I personally like the GT3 though because I'm having all the power all the time being naturally aspirated

i love my 996 C4S
Consider a 2010's Lexus LS as an alternative to your S-class work car. I am looking for a 997.1 or 996.2.

What about the car's handling compared to an E92 M3?
BMW will never handle like Porsche 911 and even this is only Carrera. Forget about GT3.
@@moneyparhar of course a BMW can never handle like a GT3 but I'm wondering if the stiff M suspension would outhandle a Carrera with softer suspension

“Didn’t want to buy a car that was going to depreciate “ meanwhile car is depreciating as you drive and talk. 😂😂
997 will hold value, some 997 non turbos holding value better than 991.
If it’s not appreciating its depreciating.
I drove a 997 for 2 years and put 20k miles. Sold it for $1k more than what I bought it.
