The Cranberries will return with Roses, their first studio album in
over a decade via Cooking Vinyl on February 27th. The Cranberries:
Dolores O'Riordan, Noel Hogan, Mike Hogan, and Fergal Lawler, began
their career in their native Limerick, Ireland in 1989 and sold more
than thirty million albums worldwide in the nineteen nineties. Roses
was produced by the band's longtime friend and collaborator Stephen
Street (The Smiths, Blur) and harkens back to the freshness and
originality of the band's first two albums, 1993's Everybody Else Is
Doing It, So Why Can't We? and the 1994 follow up, No Need To Argue.
"Tomorrow" is the seize-the-day themed first single from Roses and is
a powerhouse anthem that immediately recalls classic Cranberries. The
Colin McIvor directed video for the single premieres today via VEVO
and was filmed in Dublin last month. Regarding "Tomorrow," Dolores
O'Riordan stated "The song was written really spontaneously. People
tend to overly ponder, it is the human condition and 'Tomorrow' is
about getting away from the consuming thought process."
In 2003, The Cranberries announced their break up, but they briefly
reunited for an acoustic performance when Dolores O'Riordan received
an honoree degree at Trinity College in 2009. "The minute we started
playing, it felt like we'd never stopped," Dolores recalls. "There's
something about playing with The Cranberries. It's like putting on a
perfect pair of shoes. It just fits." In 2010, they commenced a
reunion tour of 107 concerts that took the band all over Europe as
well as to North and South America and Asia, culminating in the band's
first ever shows in China in 2011.
Dolores stated, "Having recorded two albums with various different
musicians during our hiatus, I could clearly see that Noel and Mike
have a unique way of creating chords and Ferg keeps it together in a
subtle way. We had a blast in the studio, Stephen was in his zone and
it came together rather quickly. There is a sense of rejuvenation in
the group, freshness." Guitarist Noel Hogan added, "I always had the
attitude that there would be another album. Over the last six years,
Dolores and I were sending each other ideas on and off." During the
reunion tour, the band began working on new music during soundchecks.
"The icing on the cake was to work with Stephen Street again who
helped us rediscover our sound."
The songs on Roses come from a band with a renewed hunger and in every
corner you'll find the extraordinary sound of Dolores O'Riordan's
voice, the pivotal instrument which transformed the band from a group
of young Irish hopefuls at the edge of the 80s into an MTV sensation
and worldwide super group within just a few short years.
The Cranberries debut album Everybody Else Is Doing It, So Why Can't
We? featured the massive singles "Linger" and "Dreams" and hit #1 in
Britain. The follow-up, No Need To Argue cemented the group's
popularity via such popular tracks as "Zombie," "Ridiculous Thoughts,"
and "Ode To My Family," ultimately being certified 7x Platinum in the
U.S. and 5x Platinum in Europe (hitting #1 in Germany, Austria, and
Australia, and #2 in the U.K.). The Cranberries had four top 20
Billboard albums, 8 hit singles, and worldwide sales of over 30
million records.

I was DP (camera and lights) on this video. It was meant to be massive but her father was dying so the location went from Paris, to London, to Dublin and finally her home town - and the filming time ended up being about 6 hours (instead of two days) as the fucking gorgeous Dolores O'Riordan rewrote the idea of the video the morning of the shoot. I have never met a more powerful and positive person in my life and am still in awe of her. I wish we had had more time to do the song justice. The underground grave and the unwinding rope and machine ideas were presented on the night before the day of the shoot. The director found a way to fit it into a local garage if I remember rightly. She was amazing, she changed my world view.
Is this a funeral? Pelease tell me
Wow! It is so beautiful of you to share this story with us. Beautiful video! Great job on the camera & lights!!! Yes she was so gorgeous. How lucky you were to get to talk with her & work with her!!! Wow just wow! ❤🌹❤
Have to admit though, it's heavy on my heart to see her laying 6ft below with roses at the end of the video. Haunting! This song & video is beautiful though! Thanks for your good work sir! 🌹🙏🏼🌹
The tiny desk version of this is so beautiful. And what you wrote really doesn’t surprise me after watching that performance. Thanks for sharing your story.

Forever Dolores. Continue resting in peace
we so sad,miss you 😭😭😭😭
Even more beautiful today
We miss you Star 🥺💔
The last two camera cuts are almost prophetic.
Dolores escaping the rope of life and then at repose among the roses.
It breaks my heart. There are no adequate words to explain the rest. I just have to leave it at - it breaks my heart.
Rest easy Dolores and know you were and are, loved.
I really miss you.
We'll miss you, Dolores.
I miss her I wish it was some stupid prank or a bad dream...😢
Yes, we do. Per a Rolling Stone article, she struggled with different issues in her life. It sounds like her pain served as a creative force and her music a necessary outlet. It's sad when the artists you grew up with pass away. The 90s were a special time in music and the Cranberries made an invaluable contribution. Dolores, R.I.P.
@Santiago Osuna Martinez it does, still hard to accept!

Saudades eternas! Brasil ama muito the Cranberries ❤️ R.I.P Dolores 🇧🇷
Her beauty lies within her spirit, and yes , she is physically beautiful, but it's the thoughts and emotions she projects that i find most atractive.
Too young, too proud, too foolish. Life starts with craziness and ends with regrets.
You are still alive in my mind, in my dreams and in my heart.
Love you beautiful angel.
It’s funny I am from N. Ireland of course I knew of the Cranberries, but I was surprised my wife knew of them , you see she was from America , and I married her I gave up everything to be with her, of course America is my home now , she sadly passed away on March the 4th of 2022, I still play the Cranberries today to honor her , and she still loves to hear them , she always lets me know. I miss you so much Perri lee , your passion for music was always so strong, you loved it so much
5 years without you. I miss you so much Dolores 💔
I love and miss you so much
R.I.P. Dolores!!!!
RIP Dolores O'Riordan. Wow, just 46 years young! You never know if you'll get another 'Tomorrow.' LIVE, LOVE, EXPLORE... "Tomorrow could be too late" Be the best version of yourself as possible. Peace!
Ik right
Find Jesus. Repent. Make HIM your Savior. NOW. While you still have time. Tomorrow could be too late.
@@Tonetwisters There's no evidence Jesus ever existed. It's just stories dude, like Zeus and Hercules. Yeah it's possible the stories were based on someone or perhaps several people, but learn some epistemology and realize that every religion is just a culture going "I don't know why certain things happen, maybe it's cause of X". It was our first and worse attempt to explain the world. Learn about some other religions and notice how each one fits within that culture pretty perfectly. If there was a god, it wouldn't fit with any culture, shoot, even if you went back in time right now you'd be totally different than that bronze age nomadic society using blood magic to scape goat 'sins'.
Some homework for your day, find out which gospel was written first (Mark FYI) and read just that one pretending not to know any other the others. Jesus is much more of a normal dude. The later gospels copied (forged) and added more fantastical stuff, just like modern films and books do the same with old books and movies.
@@themaster408 just let people have their faith. The world is already so dark
@@tonyelectionfraud669 Just let people pretend to know things they don't and base their life, morals, voting, and knowledge based on pretending to know things they don't? Can you think of any harm in someone pretending to know something they don't? Can you think of any time ever that someone beliveing a false thing made the world a worse place or caused someone harm?
The world is dark partially because so many people believe things without evidence. Faith is pretending to know something when you don't and is the most unreliable method of coming to the truth about something.
Can you think of anything that isn't justifyable by faith? "Why did you do this horrible thing?" Other person says "my faith told me to / I used faith to decide to do this / the god I think is real told me to"
this song is the most underrated song of cranberries..miss you dol
.💔💔
It's my favourite cranberries song
Jesus is God 🦁
I'm not kidding when I say half of their songs I feel are underrated. That or I just really like a lot of their songs :)
It was their last best song, unfortunately, it came when the world already had changed
@@GabrielOjeda
what do you mean bro their final album is amazing go listen to it again it has heaps of good songs like wake me when its over and lost and its all over now
I MISS HER SO MUCH. RIP, D
it's so sad that the lyrics are so foreshadowing. if her passing was not accidental, it seems she had found her own peace with her tortured existence in this realm. rest in peace, Dolores. you are our forever angel, your light lives on.
Can you write lyrics for me?
@@dark7cupid794 me?

Excellent that they recorded again an album. Tomorrow really sounds like Cranberries in the nineties. The acoustics, the strings, the vocals.... perfect! And of course, Dolores voice all over the place... Thanks to all of them for overcoming it all and getting back together!
Underrated but not forgotten band.

Ihre Musik dröhnt immer noch durch meine Ohren!🥰😍
I miss 90's, welcome back Cranberries! I'm still too young, too proud and too foolish and I know that tomorrow could be too late.
They're back. Feels like ZOMBIE WHEN YOU'RE GONE. Its like a DREAM when you SHOW ME THE WAY to SALVATION with great PROMISES. TOMORROW all the ROSES will bloom once again. THERE IS A LIGHT THAT WILL NEVER GOES OUT and your beautiful songs will LINGER.

O love you Dolores ♥️
My favorite band forever

I 💓 Dolores O'Riordan
The way in which they capture the intrisic emotions of humans world wide is unparalleled.
After a six-year hiatus allowing Cranberries members to pursue solo careers, the rock band reunited in 2009. After a North American and European tour, the quartet recorded their studio album “Roses” (2011).
“Tomorrow” (2011) finds frontwoman Dolores O’Riordan reflecting on how we should follow our instincts more, inspired by real-life concerns of parenthood and mortality.
She explained : “It’s about the way we sometimes hyper over-escalate things in our minds, overthink things when sometimes SPONTANEITY and just jumping in is better. Tomorrow you might not have that moment back again. So it’s really about moving on and also about kind of looking at the younger generation and how they worry about all kinds of silly things. They don’t think they’re silly, but when you’re older you know better*.”
May you rest in peace, Dolores Mary Eileen O’Riordan (1971 - 2018)… 🌹
* Isn’t that tantamount to underestimating the issues and problems that trouble the youth and, by the same token, overratimg the wisdom of adults⁉️ HOW UNFAIR‼️
The brilliant Cranberries are my go-to music. No one compares
3 years since dolores o' riordan passed away , it will be remember that she had a special voice
Obviamente nunca conocí a esta mujer pero la extraño tanto!!😞😞
FINALLY! The real music comes back!!! Cranberries are my first inspiration in almost everything!!! Greetings from Mexico!!!!! I love your music!!!
You are right Delores.
I started crying while watching this video and letting Dolores´ voice come into my soul through my skin and ears. I watched them in Mexico last time they came, I hope they come again and will not lose the chance to talk to them no matter how much it costs. That day I will be plenty of happiness and no one else but Dolores´ will get to know all that she has made to me and my life, will let her know that I grew up with her and I will be glad for giving the greatest thanks in my life.
We r so blessed to have had a gift like her to grace her love upon us...fly home princess. we adore your time with us ❤❤❤
